Middle meningeal artery (MMA) and middle meningeal vein (MMV) fistula is a rare lesion. Hemorrhagic propensity for this pathology has not been widely recognized. We encountered a case of idiopathic MMA-MMV fistula presenting as intracerebral hemorrhage. MMA and MMV showed a single fistula and the enlarged MMV coiled around the MMA, resembling a varix. We treated the case using endovascular techniques. This case highlights the anatomy along the course of the MMV and is unique, since no backward leptomeningeal drainage was observed. A bone defect in the meningeal groove on computed tomography and a "green caviar appearance" on angiography may be characteristic of this rare pathology.Female-assigned at birth sexual and gender minorities (FAB SGM) are at elevated risk of experiencing intimate partner violence (IPV), yet little longitudinal research has been conducted with this population. In the current study, we attempted to understand how patterns of IPV victimization and perpetration, measured across a wide range of IPV behaviors (psychological, physical, sexual, cyber, and SGM-specific), changed over time for FAB SGM youth. Participants came from a longitudinal cohort study of FAB SGM late adolescents and young adults (FAB400; N = 488) and included anyone who reported a romantic partner at one of the first three waves (six months apart; N = 433). see more Latent class analysis (LCA) was run at each wave to determine the best-fitting class structure across IPV experiences. These were followed up with latent transition analyses (LTAs) to determine patterns of movement between classes over the course of the three waves. Lastly, we looked at the effects of staying with the same romantic partner on transitions. We found that the same three-class structure replicated across all three waves of the study. That class structure identified no/low, psychological, and high IPV classes at each wave. In the LTA, when transitions occurred for FAB SGM, they were much more likely to transition to a class defined by lower likelihoods of experiencing IPV (i.e., psychological to no/low) than they were to a class defined by higher likelihoods of IPV (i.e., psychological to high). However, we found that FAB SGM youth were less likely to transition to a less severe IPV class if they maintained the same serious romantic partner across waves. This finding, in particular, suggests that IPV is often relationship specific for FAB SGM and that efforts to reduce IPV in SGM communities must consider intervening at the relationship level to effect meaningful change.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of curcumin in an experimental model of busulfan-induced renal toxicity with emphasis on importance of histological alterations.
In this study, we utilized 32 adult male Wistar rats (250 ± 10 g). All the animals were divided into four experimental groups randomly (I) Control; (II) Busulfan (40 mg/kg); (III) Olive oil; and (IV) Curcumin (80 mg/kg/day). Finally, the rats were euthanized and kidney tissues were taken for histopathology experiments, serum BUN, and creatinine level, reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and glutathione disulfide (GSH) activity.
Our result showed that the reduction in body weight and kidney weight in busulfan groups in comparison with the control and curcumin groups. The result in this study also showed that the reduction in BUN, creatinine, and ROS production in curcumin groups in comparison with the busulfan group together with an increasing of GSH activity compared to busulfan induced rats.
Our results of this study indicated that that the reduction in body weight, kidney weight, total volume of kidney, total length of nephron tubules, and numerical density of glomeruli and nephron tubules in busulfan groups in comparison with the control and curcumin groups However, curcumin can be an alternative choice for therapeutically and research purposes in the disturbing kidney after treatment with busulfan.

Adult ADHD is common, highly comorbid, and restricts daily functioning. However, only a minority of patients receive appropriate treatment.
Primary objective To identify psychological interventions that diminish inattention symptoms in adults with ADHD. Secondary objective To evaluate feasibility aspects.
A search in PubMed, Cochrane Library, PsycInfo, PSYNDEX, and Eric was conducted. Interventions were grouped in ADHD coaching, neuro feedback, cognitive training, psychoeducation, and behavioral therapy. Inattention symptoms were evaluated using standardized mean differences. Study quality was rated with the Cochrane Risk of Bias tool. Feasibility was assessed by number and time of sessions, setting, and qualification of the provider.
A total of N = 2229 results were identified, 19 randomized controlled studies were included in the analysis. Behavioral therapy showed effects on inattention symptoms [SMD 0.44-1.71] when compared to inactive controls. In terms of feasibility, longer interventions did not outperform shorter ones and individual sessions were not superior to group sessions. No effects were given for neuro feedback, cognitive training, and psychoeducation in comparison to controls.
For adults with ADHD behavioral therapy seems an effective intervention to reduce inattention symptoms. In terms of feasibility, brief interventions may be valuable for a primary care setting.

Patients with this condition may experience an array of clinical deformities, including constriction rings, digital defects, and even visceral defects. Although this disease has been identified for centuries, its etiology is still unknown. The present male patient was born by cesarean section at 34 weeks and 4 days of gestation. At birth, an amniotic band that encircled and constricted his right upper limb was observed. Four hours after the amniotic band was cut off, amputation was performed because the right limb remained insensate. The patient suffered from amniotic band syndrome and presented with a gangrenous limb leading to amputation at birth, which is extremely rare. Moreover, the patient's mother suffered from a uterine septum, which has not been previously reported in this situation. Timely surgical treatment avoided further tissue necrosis threating the patient's life. This rare case of amniotic band syndrome provides new clinical evidence for the "extrinsic theory".
