67°, a sufficient value for the detection of gamma radiation. In sum, the proposed radiation sensor appears promising for the construction of high-performance radiation detectors and systems. In the face of cooperative intelligent transportation systems (C-ITS) advancements, the inclusion of vulnerable road users (VRU), i.e., pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists, has just recently become a part of the discussion. Including VRU in C-ITS presents new challenges, most notably the trade-off between the increase in VRU safety and the aggravation in channel congestion resulting from VRU-generated messages. However, previous studies mainly focus on network-related metrics without giving much consideration to VRU safety-related metrics. In this context, we evaluated such a trade-off with a study of motion-based message generation rules for VRU transmissions. The rules were analyzed using theoretical and simulation-based evaluations. In addition to studying the message generation rules using channel load metrics, such as channel busy ratio (CBR) and packet delivery ratio (PDR), we introduced a new metric the VRU Awareness Probability (VAP). VAP uses the exchange of messages from active VRU to measure the probability of VRU detection by nearby vehicles. Results show that fixed message-filtering mechanisms reduce the overall channel load, but they could negatively impact VRU detection. We established the importance of quantifying the VRU awareness and its inclusion in C-ITS analysis because of its direct impact on VRU safety. We also discussed approaches that include VRU context and dynamism to improve the definition of message generation rules. The main objective of this paper is to describe a building process of a model predicting the soil strength at unpaved airport surfaces (unpaved runways, safety areas in runway proximity, runway strips, and runway end safety areas). The reason for building this model is to partially substitute frequent and meticulous inspections of an airport movement area comprising the bearing strength evaluation and provide an efficient tool to organize surface maintenance. Since the process of building such a model is complex for a physical model, it is anticipated that it might be addressed by a statistical model instead. Therefore, fuzzy logic (FL) and artificial neural network (ANN) capabilities are investigated and compared with linear regression function (LRF). Large data sets comprising the bearing strength and meteorological characteristics are applied to train the likely model variations to be subsequently compared with the application of standard statistical quantitative parameters. All the models prove that the inclusion of antecedent soil strength as an additional model input has an immense impact on the increase in model accuracy. Although the M7 model out of the ANN group displays the best performance, the M3 model is considered for practical implications being less complicated and having fewer inputs. In general, both the ANN and FL models outperform the LRF models well in all the categories. The FL models perform almost equally as well as the ANN but with slightly decreased accuracy. The carry-over of heavy metals from feed to muscles is generally low if animals are fed with a standard diet containing amounts below the maximum permissible levels. However, prolonged exposure to heavy metals can lead to their accumulation in some organs like muscles, liver, and kidneys. This paves the way for human health risks related to the consumption of products of animal-origin. Thus, using feed mixtures with a low level of heavy metals in pig production will contribute to increasing public health and safety and is of environmental concern. The study aimed to assess the impact of the level of some heavy metals (Cd, Pb, Hg, Cu, Zn, Fe and Mn) in standard (control) feed mixtures and in alternative feed mixtures based on maize or new rye varieties (population and hybrid) on the heavy metal concentration in muscles, liver and kidney of fattened pigs at slaughter. While some differences between heavy metals content in examined tissue samples from experimental groups were observed, all of them were in the range of allowable levels according to European Community rules. In conclusion, new rye varieties, especially the hybrid variety, could be an alternative source of cereal grains for pig nutrition. The influence of microstructure and mechanical properties on the in vitro digestibility of 15% whey protein isolate (WPI) gels was investigated. Gels were prepared via heat set gelation at three pH values (pH 3, 5 and 7), which produced gels with distinct microstructures and mechanical properties. The gels were minced to simulate an oral/chewing phase, which led to the formation particles of various sizes and textures. The minced gels were passed through either an Infogest (pre-set pH of 3) or Glass stomach (dynamic pH) protocol. Gels were digested in the gastric phase for up to 120 min, at which point the extent of digestion was measured by the amount of filterable nitrogen passing through a sieve. The digesta from both gastric methods were passed through an in vitro simulated intestinal phase. A strong link was found between the elasticity of the initial gel and the gel particle size following simulated oral processing, which significantly (p less then 0.01) affected the rate of digestion in the gastric phase. A weaker correlation was also found between the pH of the gels and the extent of gastric digestion. This work highlights the differences in the rate of gastric digestion, arising from oral processing, which can be attributed to the material properties of the substrate.Entrepreneurial orientation can be an effective response by sports clubs to manage a recession, such as the COVID-19 crisis. Therefore, its study can be fundamental to understand different ways of managing a recession. This study analyzes the entrepreneurial orientation of Spanish non-profit sports clubs to identify different groups and their profiles. The sample is composed of 145 Spanish non-profit sports clubs. Different validated scales have been used to analyze entrepreneurial orientation, business model adaptation, service quality, and economic and social performance (performance in social impact and performance in social causes). Entrepreneurial orientation is the variable used to differentiate the groups. learn more This is made up of three dimensions innovation, risk-taking, and proactivity. According to the results obtained, there are three groups of sports clubs according to their entrepreneurial orientation non-entrepreneurs (n = 11), moderate entrepreneurs (n = 85), and strong entrepreneurs (n = 45). There are substantial differences between the three groups according to the adaptation of the business model, the perceived impact of COVID-19, and the returns analyzed.
