Although, stilbenes and anthraquinones, two major components of RPM, show various bioactive effects, it has been speculated that the idiosyncratic hepatotoxicity induced by RPM may be related to these constituents. However, information on the pharmacokinetics of stilbenes and anthraquinones at a subtoxic dose of RPM is limited. A simple and sensitive UPLC-MS/MS bioanalytical method for the simultaneous determination of 13 ingredients of RPM, including chrysophanol, emodin, aloe-emodin, rhein, physcion, questin, citreorosein, questinol, 2,3,5,4'-tetrahydroxystilbene-2-O-β-D-glucoside, torachrysone-8-O-glucoside, chrysophanol-8-O-β-D-glucoside, emodin-8-O-β-D-glucoside, and physcion-8-O-β-D-glucoside, in rat plasma was established. Acetonitrile was employed to precipitate the plasma with appropriate sensitivity and acceptable matrix effects. Chromatographic separation was performed using a waters HSS C18 column with a gradient elution using water and acetonitrile both containing 0.025% formic acid within a run time of 9 min. The constituents were detected in negative ionization mode using multiple reaction monitoring. The method was fully validated in terms of selectivity, linearity, accuracy, precision, recovery, matrix effects, and stability. The lower limit of quantitation of the analytes was 0.1-1 ng/mL. The intrabatch and interbatch accuracies were 87.1-109%, and the precision was within the acceptable limits. The method was applied to a pharmacokinetic study after oral administration of RPM extract to rats at a subtoxic dose of 36 g/kg. This study aimed to assess gross motor function, oral health and oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL), and the relationship between them in young adults with cerebral palsy. Methods The sample comprised 46 individuals aged between 13 and 17 years with Gross Motor Function Classification Scores (GMFCS) ranging from level I to level III. The individuals and their parents were administered an Arabic version of the child perception questionnaire for adolescents. Parental and child perception scores, DMFT, and gingival index were compared across GMFCS levels using the one-way ANOVA and Scheffe's post hoc test. Results Children with level III GMFCS had a significantly higher child perception score (CPQ) and parental perception score (PPQ) than those with level I or level II scores. There was a significant association between function (GMFCS) and the CPQ score in children (p = 0.016). No significant associations were found between the CPQ score and either dental caries (DMFT) or gingival bleeding (GI) scores. Children with GMFCS level III had a significantly higher DMFT (p = 0.016). The optimal treatment should be personalized and based on a multidisciplinary approach that includes radiation oncologists, surgeons, geriatricians, medical oncologists, social workers, and support services. The global evaluation of the patients and the creation of nomograms may facilitate the definition of long-term treatment benefits minimizing the use of unnecessary therapy. Material and Method. A systematic research using PubMed, Scopus, and Cochrane library was performed to identify full articles analyzing the efficacy of APBI in elderly patients with breast cancer. ClinicalTrials.gov was searched for ongoing or recently completed trials, and PROSPERO was searched for ongoing or recently completed systematic reviews. Results Seven papers fulfilled the eligibility criteria. The number of evaluated patients was 405 and the median age was 77.7 years. The disease-free survival (DFS) range was 96.1%-100%, the grade 3-4 toxicity range was 0%-6.6%, the cancer-specific survival (CSS) range was 97.9%-100%, and the overall survival (OS) range was 87%-100%. All studies reported excellent/good cosmetic results in a range of 74% to 99%. Conclusion Accelerated partial breast irradiation (APBI) results in a safe and effective substitute for the adjuvant external beam radiotherapy in selected elderly early-stage breast cancer patients. Based on the relatively low toxicity, APBI should be advised in selected patients with life expectancies larger than 5-10 years. We conducted a UK-wide clinician survey to assess current practice for the diagnosis, management, and follow-up of patients with TC/AC and descriptively compared management between European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS) accredited centres of excellence (CoE) and nonaccredited centres (non-CoE). Computed tomography of thorax, abdomen, and pelvis was the most commonly reported diagnostic tool (96% of respondents), and bone scans and gallium somatostatin receptor scintigraphy positron emission tomography (SRS PET) were the least commonly reported (30% and 37% of respondents, respectively). Adjuvant therapy is considered for resected TC/AC by less then 5% of respondents for patients with stage N0 M0 AC or TC, up to 48% of respondents for patients with AC with R1 disease. Somatostatin analogues were the most commonly reported first-line treatment (63% of respondents), and chemotherapy was the most commonly reported second-line therapy and third-line therapy (33% and 41%, respectively) for unresectable and metastatic disease.
