Our results underline vast agreement among participants regarding the need for a mindset shift that can support new ways of communication and collaboration, based on more relational modes of knowing, being and acting. They also suggest the emergence of such a mindset shift across sectors and contexts, but not yet at the collective and systems levels. Finally, they highlight the importance of transformative skills and the need for experimental, safe spaces. The latter are seen as a visible manifestation and enabler that can support agency for change through shared self-reflection, experience and practice. We present a transformative skills framework, and conclude with further research needs and policy recommendations. The United States and Mexico have engaged in hydrodiplomacy-a practice of transboundary water management that blends water diplomacy and science diplomacy--for more than 75 years, since the adoption of the Treaty of 1944 and the creation of the International Boundary and Water Commission. We examine six major turning points in U.S.-Mexico hydrodiplomacy to ascertain the key factors in the region's history of resolving transboundary water issues. SR-4370 We find that recognized adaptive governance indicators-such as social learning, sustained relationships, flexible governance mechanisms, and state and non-state networks are essential elements of hydrodiplomacy. Our research suggests that robust and foundational institutions comprise another key indicator of adaptive governance specifically in transboundary contexts. A commitment to both science and diplomacy have been important components underlying the effectiveness of hydrodiplomacy in the border region. Binational networks involving diverse state and non-state actors at multiple scales have increasingly played a pivotal role in shaping desirable hydrodiplomatic outcomes in the region.Resilience has in recent decades been introduced as a term describing a new perspective within the domains of disaster management and safety management. Several theoretical interpretations and definitions of the essence of resilience have been proposed, but less work has described how to operationalise resilience and implement the concept within organisations. This case study describes the implementation of a set of general resilience management guidelines for critical infrastructure within a Swedish Regional Medical Command and Control Team. The case study demonstrates how domain-independent guidelines can be contextualised and introduced at an operational level, through a comprehensive capability development programme. It also demonstrates how a set of conceptual and reflective tools consisting of educational, training and exercise sessions of increasing complexity and realism can be used to move from high-level guidelines to practice. The experience from the case study demonstrates the value of combining (1) developmental learning of practitioners' cognitive skills through resilience-oriented reflection and interaction with dynamic complex open-ended problems; (2) contextualisation of generic guidelines as a basis for operational methodological support in the operational environment; and (3) the use of simulation-based training as part of a capability development programme with increasing complexity and realism across mixed educational, training and exercise sessions. As an actual example of a resilience implementation effort in a disaster medicine management organisation, the study contributes to the body of knowledge regarding how to implement the concept of resilience in operational practice. There is no experimental information about the tautomerism of Favipiravir (T-705). Therefore, its tautomeric state was predicted by using density functional theory in gas phase and in solution (toluene, acetonitrile and water). The results have shown that, in neutral state, the enol form is strongly dominating in both gas phase and solution. The carboxamide group is easily protonated in the presence of acid, which leads to shift of the tautomeric equilibrium toward the keto tautomer. In order to validate the theoretical predictions, 2-hydroxy pyridine and 2-hydroxy pyrazine were also included in the set of studied compounds. The available experimental data about their tautomerism are in very good agreement with the theoretical predictions, which validate the conclusions made for T-705.This paper serves as an introduction to a Special Issue (SI) of the Journal of Forest Policy and Economics dedicated to forest investment and finance. The Special Issue stemmed from an International Forest Business Conference (IFBC2018) held in Poland on 6-8 June 2018. It includes papers based on speeches at that conference, as well as others on similar topics not presented at the conference. Topics addressed in this Special Issue include timberland investments, forest finance, intensively managed plantations, risk, uncertainty and decision-making, business structures and investment strategy, timber prices and forecasts, forestry contractors, and taxes. Details papers on these subjects follow in this Special Issue. Our finance research overview here provides a historical background and summary of forest investments and finance, focusing on forest equity investments made by institutional investors and in forestry real estate investment trusts, not including public lands or individual small private forest landowners. Forest assets as an investment class have expanded due to analytical advances, ownership changes, globalized markets, and sustainable forestry factors. Key components affecting forestry investments are expected asset returns, portfolio diversification, inflation hedge, and liquidity and natural risks. Topics detailed in this Special Issue include timberland investments, forest finance, intensively managed plantations, risk, uncertainty and decision-making, business structures and investment strategy, timber prices and forecasts, forestry contractors, and taxes. Finally, we identify knowledge gaps regarding forest investments for future research.During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, countries around the globe have implemented a certain degree of lockdown, restricting citizens' freedom of movement and freedom of assembly. This article aims to illustrate the impact that the measures against the spread of COVID-19 have on forest recreation, building on a study in an urban context around Bonn (Germany) that was conducted between April 2019 and February 2020. The quantitative and qualitative data on urban forest visits from that study were supplemented with new census data supported by selected expert interviews. We found that visitor numbers since the inception of COVID-19 measures in March 2020 have more than doubled. Visitor patterns have drastically shifted, from an even distribution throughout the day with small peaks before and after office hours to a culmination in the late afternoon. Lastly, the interviewed forestry professionals have noted that a new set of visitors, i.e. young people, families with children and non-locals, has arrived to the forest.
