In this data article, a dataset from hydrothermal plume investigations on East Pacific Rise collected during Chinese cruises from 2008 to 2011 is reported. The dataset is related to the research article entitled "Abundance of low-temperature axial venting at the equatorial East Pacific Rise" published in the journal Deep-Sea Research I by Chen et al. (2020). In the dataset, continuous strings of time-series sensor data were obtained by Miniature Autonomous Plume Recorders (MAPR) and an Oxidation-Reduction Potential (ORP) sensor, while the underwater position data was derived using Ultra Short Base Line (USBL) navigation. In this contribution, general characteristics of the data are summarized and showed here. All the data are stored in separate Microsoft Excel spreadsheets that are available for researchers and a link is provided to the full data at http//dx.doi.org/10.17632/jckyj5vyjx.1. The data will be of comparative value to those investigating hydrothermal activities along mid-ocean ridges, worldwide.This article shows the dataset of clearance assays and the reconstitution of stable biological nano-complexes using both detergent-assisted and spontaneous solubilization of phospholipids by the recombinant purified apolipoprotein A-I (apoA-I). Protein was intra-chain crosslinked in order to introduce steric constrains. Then, native and crosslinked protein function was evaluated by a data collection of dimiristoyl phosphatidyl choline (DMPC) micellization curves. Additionally, resulting particles from spontaneous or detergent-assisted lipid solubilization were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), size exclusion chromatography (SEC), and native polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE). Here we set up an experimental design that may help study protein structure based on its function, since interaction with biological membranes and lipids is an intrinsic activity attributed to many proteins in circulation. In addition, by t-test analysis of collected-data, we examined the formation of lipoprotein particles by native and intra-chain crosslinked proteins under different conditions like temperature and time incubation. Thus, data shown here strengthen the usefulness of an easy, rapid, accessible and inexpensive approach to test protein flexibility related to its function.Pragmatic clinical trials are commonly used in patient-centered outcomes research to assess heterogeneity of treatment effects. Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) methodology standards for assessing heterogeneity of treatment effects are extremely rigorous, but their implementation in real-world settings can be difficult. Predicting recruitment effectiveness and subgroup characteristics is often challenging and may require mid-stream revision of projected group and subgroup sizes. Yet, little real-world data are available to demonstrate methodologically valid approaches to address situations where such revisions are necessary. These data were used for mid-stream revision of group and subgroup sizes in the Management of Diabetes in Everyday Life (MODEL) clinical trial. Strain UUS1-1 has a unique, long, hair-like rod morphology and a strong ability to degrade crystalline chitin. The whole genome of strain UUS1-1 was sequenced on an Ion GeneStudio S5 system, which yielded 86 contigs comprising 2,482,547 bp, 2235 protein-coding sequences, and a G+C content of 52.1 mol%. Strain UUS1-1 is the second cultivable isolate, besides H. ethanolica, within the OPB54 cluster and may be classified as a novel species. The genomic data have been deposited at the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) under accession number JAAKDE00000000.Atropine, a non-selective muscarinic antagonist, is known to slow down myopia progression in human adolescents and in several animal models. However, its underlying molecular mechanism is unclear. The present work built a monocular form-deprivation myopia (FDM) guinea pig model, using facemasks as well as atropine treatment on FDM eyes for 2 and 4 weeks. Retinal protein changes in response to the FDM and effects of topical administration of atropine were screened for the two periods using fractionated isobaric tags for a relative and absolute quantification (iTRAQ) approach coupled with nano-liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (nano-LC-MS/MS) (n=24, 48 eyes). Retinal tissues from another cohort receiving 4-weeks FDM with atropine treatment (n=12, 24 eyes) with more significant changes were subjected to sequential window acquisition of all theoretical mass spectra (SWATH-MS) proteomics for further protein target confirmation. A total of 1695 proteins (8875 peptides) and 5961 proteins (51871 peptides) were identified using iTRAQ and SWATH approaches, respectively. Using the Paragon algorithm in the ProteinPilotTM software, the three most significantly up-regulated and down-regulated proteins that were commonly found in both ITRAQ and SWATH experiments are presented. The baseline home is a traditional DX cooling/gas furnace system, and the alternate system is a geothermal heat pump. Cooling degree days (CDD), heating degree days (HDD) and relative humidity were gathered from historical weather data for 12 cities across the contiguous United States [1], [2]. Geothermal heat pump coefficients were generated as inputs to EnergyPlus™ simulation software. These heat pump coefficients are generated by compiling heat pump performance data from 5 market leading, high efficiency residential geothermal heat pump manufacturers. These coefficients can be used to represent a general, market available heat pump in 2-ton, 3-ton, and 4-ton capacities. Baseline prototype home energy use by city was generated by EnergyPlus™ using the prototype home download file from www.energy.gov and the respective weather file for that city. This data can be interpreted as energy use per month by certain HVAC components. The ground source heat pump (GSHP) home energy use by city was generated from EnergyPlus™ and the respective city weather file. The GSHP model was created by the authors to model the alternate closed loop, GSHP system. Reuse potential for heat pump coefficients and home energy use analysis is strong.In this work, a lab-designed apparatus was developed to collect and record the CO2 amount during the hydroxyethyl modification of lignin. We presented the CO2 volume amount and the production rate under different reaction conditions (80 - 120 °C and 2 - 6 hrs). Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy was performed to analyze the chemical structure of the hydroxyethyl lignin corresponding with different amounts of CO2 that evolved during the reaction. The aliphatic hydroxyl, aromatic hydroxyl, and carboxylic acid groups were analyzed and tabulated. The acetylated hydroxyethyl lignin samples were characterized by 13C NMR to obtain the aliphatic hydroxyl (primary and secondary), phenol (ortho substituted and ortho-free), hydroxyethyl, methoxy, and aromatic hydrogen groups semi-quantitatively. Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy was adopted to analyze the surface functional groups including alkyl aryl ether bond, carboxylic acid groups, and aromatic hydroxyl groups. Gel permeation chromatography combined with a multi-angle light scattering detector and differential refractive index detector were used to obtain the molar mass of lignin before and after the modification.

Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is a heterogeneous group of genetic disorders of connective tissue that cause skeletal fragility and extra-skeletal manifestations. Classically, four different types of OI were distinguished. Type 5 OI was added due to its distinct clinical and radiographic features. In 2012, two independent groups identified a recurrent heterozygous c.-14C>T mutation in

as the responsible genetic change for this type of OI. To our knowledge, cervical kyphosis has not been identified in the literature as a finding in type 5 OI patients. This is a retrospective review of a cohort of patients with type 5 OI and a description of associated cervical spine deformity.

After institutional review board approval, a retrospective review identified 13 patients with type 5 OI. Clinical, radiologic, and genetic data from 2002 to 2020 were reviewed.

Furthermore, if cervical kyphosis is noted in an individual with OI, type 5 OI should be considered.Level of evidence IV.

To review a single-center experience of percutaneous biliary recanalization for liver transplantation-related benign biliary stricture, particularly focusing on the technical aspect.

Twenty-three recipients of liver transplantation (LT) with 27 benign biliary strictures underwent percutaneous recanalization using a step-by-step technique from June 2017 to March 2020. The step-by-step technique includes a hairy wire or an usual 0.035-inch wire passage, a coaxial system, supporting catheters of various shapes and wires, and an extraluminal passage. The success rate of percutaneous biliary recanalization, degree of stricture, interval between LT and biliary recanalization, procedure time, number of sessions, and recanalization techniques were analyzed.

Among the 27 lesions, 26 (96 %) were successfully recanalized using a percutaneous approach without major complications. Of the 27 lesions, 8 were complete obstructions and 19 were partial obstructions. Consequently, the average interval between LT and biliary recanalization was 28.
