Molecular docking results clearly show that α-aminophosphonates with pyrimidine ring are having more number of hydrogen bonding interaction with amino acid residues of SBM than α-aminophosphonates with benzthiazolyl ring. Sequentially for thermal and structure stability of SBM, concentration of α-aminophosphonates plays an inexorable role and through these results it must be concluded that most of the α-aminophosphonates are stabilizing the SBM upto the 0. 1 mM concentration.

To explore the impact of restrictive abortion policies in the state of Georgia on the lives of people seeking abortion and how they would manage unwanted pregnancies.

We conducted a cross sectional study of English and Spanish-speaking people seeking abortion from three high-volume outpatient abortion clinics in Atlanta, Georgia from April 2019 through August 2019. Participants completed a multiple-choice questionnaire. We used bivariable and multivariable analysis to explore relationships between demographic characteristics and how people would manage their unwanted pregnancies if abortion were illegal in the state. Two researchers (EC and SC) conducted qualitative analysis on free response answers and coded them by key emotion.

Of the 382 participants, 312 (81.9%) considered at least one way to end their pregnancy if abortion were illegal in Georgia 252 (66.1%) by traveling to another state, 85 (22.3%) by self-management with medications and/or herbs, and 32 (8.4%) considered self-harm behaviors. When asked how they would feel about not being able to have a desired abortion, 94% reported negative emotions, ranging from "scared" to "enslaved."

Limiting access to legal abortion in Georgia would negatively impact the lives of people seeking abortion and has the potential to drive individuals to seek more costly and risky alternatives to end their pregnancy.

We aim to assess youth awareness of and opinions about Title X policy changes in 2019.

We analyzed data from four open-ended questions and demographic items collected through MyVoice, a national text message survey of youth aged 14-24. We calculated descriptive statistics to summarize awareness of and opinions about Title X. We integrated the quantitative findings with qualitative themes to achieve deeper understanding of the beliefs that inform youth opinions.

Seven hundred and fifty youth responded to the text message survey (58.0% response rate). The majority (74.9%) was unaware of recent Title X changes. Most (79.3%) were unsupportive of these changes, and a sizable portion (40%) worried these changes could impact them. Opposition to Title X changes was based upon five themes (1) youth need to be aware of their health options, including abortion; (2) the policy will undermine reproductive rights; (3) the policy is unfair; (4) the policy is unconstitutional; (5) the policy will threaten public health and health services, including affordable and safe abortion. Those who supported Title X changes (13.8%) described moral objections to abortion and beliefs that the government should not be responsible for abortion care.

Most youth in this sample were unsupportive of Title X changes. Limited youth awareness of Title X changes suggests that better youth outreach is needed regarding sexual and reproductive health (SRH) policies.

To evaluate the efficacy of intramuscular methylergonovine maleate as prophylaxis against excessive bleeding when given after dilation and evacuation (D&E) at 20-24 weeks.

We performed a randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial in patients without excessive bleeding requiring intervention after D&E completion. We administered study treatment within one minute of the end of the procedure. We primarily compared outcomes using a composite of indicators of excessive post-procedure blood loss (post-procedure measured blood loss exceeding 125 mL, uterine massage or compression for at least two minutes, administration of additional uterotonic medication, intrauterine balloon tamponade, uterine re-aspiration, blood transfusion, uterine artery embolization, hospital admission for bleeding, or major surgery). Secondary outcomes included individual indicator occurrences, satisfaction, and side effects.

However, few studies have investigated individual differences in oscillatory activity during the encoding of emotional memory, particularly in sleep paradigms where sleep is thought to play an active role in memory consolidation. The current study aimed to address the question of whether individual alpha frequency (IAF) modulates the consolidation of declarative memory across periods of sleep and wake. 22 participants aged 18-41 years (mean age = 25.77) viewed 120 emotionally valenced images (positive, negative, neutral) and completed a baseline memory task before a 2hr afternoon sleep opportunity and an equivalent period of wake. Following the sleep and wake conditions, participants were required to distinguish between 120 learned (target) images and 120 new (distractor) images. This method allowed us to delineate the role of different oscillatory components of sleep and wake states in the emotional modulation of memory. In this study, we demonstrated a novel method based on nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA) technique to directly correlate salivary exosomes concentration with the progression of cognitive impairment (CI) in Alzheimer's disease (AD).This could open up the possibility for an early and cost-effective screening of Alzheimer's disease.

Using our novel method, the total salivary exosomes concentration was measured by NTA technique, followed by validation of key exosomal cargo proteins through an automated western blot analyzer. We observed significant differences in salivary exosomes concentration among the groups of cognitively impaired ng technique has the potential to be used as a cost-effective screening method for early disease detection.

Understanding the role of macrophages at discrete spatial locations during nerve regeneration after injury is important. But, methodologies that systemically manipulate macrophages can obscure their roles within discrete spatial locations within nerve.

Liposomes were embedded within fibrin gels to construct a delivery system that facilitated macrophage-specific manipulations at a sole spatial region, as macrophages accumulated within the fibrin. Clodronate liposomes were characterized for their toxicity to specific cells composing nerve in vitro, then tested for macrophage-specific depletion in vivo. This delivery system using clodronate liposomes was used to repair a mouse sciatic nerve gap to evaluate its efficacy and effects.

Clodronate liposomes showed specific toxicity to macrophages without affecting dorsal root ganglia (DRG)-derived neurons, endothelial cells, or Schwann cells in culture. The delivery system demonstrated sustained release of liposomes for more than 7 days while still retaining liposomes within the fibrin. In vivo, the delivery system demonstrated macrophages were targeted by liposomes, and the use of clodronate liposomes minimized macrophage accumulation within fibrin, while not affecting macrophage accumulation within DRG. Nerve regeneration across the nerve gap repaired using this delivery system was associated with decreased angiogenesis, Schwann cell accumulation, axon growth, and reinnervation of affected muscle.

This delivery system allowed specific perturbation of macrophages locally in nerve. This method could be applicable across species without the need for genetic manipulations or systemic pharmaceuticals.
