Epimedium wushanense is a well-known medicinal plant in Berberidaceae in China. In this study, we sequenced the complete chloroplast (cp) genome of E. wushanense. The results showed that the cp genome of E. wushanense was 157,283 bp in length, which is composed of a large single-copy region (LSC, 88,579 bp) and a small single-copy region (SSC, 17,082 bp) that were separated by a pair of inverted repeat regions (IRa and IRb, 25,811 bp). The chloroplast genome of E. wushanense contains 112 unique genes, of which are 78 protein-coding genes, 30 tRNA genes, and 4 rRNA genes. The overall GC content was 38.78%. The phylogenetic tree analysis showed that E. wushanense was closely related to E. pseudowushanense, E. lishihchenii, and E. sagittatum.Dunnia sinensis, a monotypic genus of the Rubiaceae, is an Endangered species endemic to China. Its complete chloroplast genome was determined to be 154,909 bp in length and the GC content was 37.80%. The sequence includes a large single-copy region of 84,894 bp, a small single-copy region of 16,973 bp, and the inverted region of 26,521 bp in length. It contains 130 genes, including 84 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA genes, and 8 rRNA genes. The ML and BI analyses revealed D. sinensis was closely related to Galium mollugo and Leptodermis scabrida with strong bootstrap values belonging to the subfamily Rubioideae. In this study, we obtained and described the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Amphiesma optatum. The total length is 17,259 base pairs. Similar to most Colubridae mitochondrial genomes, there are 37 genes including 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNA), and 2 ribosomal RNA genes (rRNA). In addition, it contains two control regions (D-loop) rich in A-T base. The total base composition of mitochondrial DNA is 34.3% for A, 26.5% for C, 12.8% for G, and 26.4% for T, and the percentage of GC content is 39.3%. These data further reveal the phylogenetic relationship between Amphiesma optatum and other species in the Colubridae family. In the present study, the complete mitochondrial genome of Rhizophagus sp. was assembled by the next-generation sequencing. We found that the complete mitochondrial genome of Rhizophagus sp. is 50,449 bp in length and consists of 14,741 (29.22%) adenine, 9427 (18.69%) cytosine, 9248 (18.33%) guanosine, and 17,033 (33.76%) thymine. GLPG2222 The genome contains 24 conserved core protein-coding genes, 25 tRNA genes, and 2 rRNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis based on the combined mitochondrial gene set showed that Rhizophagus sp. has a close relationship with Rhizophagus fasciculatus, Glomus irregular, and G. intratadices. In this paper, we determined the complete mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) sequence of Gobio coriparoides and analyzed its phylogenetic position. The complete mitogenome is 16,604 bp in length. It consists of 13 protein-coding genes, 2 rRNA genes, 22 tRNA genes, and 1 control region. Among the 37 genes, 28 were encoded on the heavy strand, while 9 were encoded on the light strand. The overall base composition was 28.97% for A, 18.06% for G, 26.54% for T, and 26.43% for C, with a higher A + T content (55.51%). There are some overlaps existing in G. coriparoides mitochondrial genome. The neighbor-joining (NJ) phylogenetic tree based on whole mitogenome sequences supported that G. coriparoides is the closest to G. cynocephalus. This result will provide a basic reference for understanding the genetic structure, molecular evolution, and phylogeny of G. coriparoides and related species.Epimedium mikinorii is a vulnerable species in the Epimedium genus of Berberaceae. Here, we sequenced the complete chloroplast genome of E. mikinorii, which is 157,136 bp in length, and is a typical quadripartite circular molecule composed of two inverted repeats (IRs) of 25,896 bp for each, a large single-copy region (LSC) of 88,395 bp, and a small single-copy region (SSC) of 16,949 bp. The complete chloroplast genome of E. mikinorii contains 134 genes, including 83 protein-coding genes, 38 tRNA genes, 8 rRNA genes, and 5 pseudogenes. Phylogenetic analysis showed that E. mikinorii was closely related to E. dolichostemon.Styrax hemsleyanus is valued for its beauty and fragrance. Here, we characterized the complete chloroplast (cp) genome of S. hemsleyanus using next generation sequencing. The circular complete cp genome of S. hemsleyanus is 158,027 bp in length, containing a large single-copy (LSC) region of 87,641 bp, and a small single-copy (SSC) region of 18,290 bp. It comprises 133 genes, including 8 rRNA genes, 37 tRNAs genes, and 88 protein-coding genes. The GC content of S. hemsleyanus cp genome is 36.95%. The phylogenetic analysis suggests that S. hemsleyanus is a sister species to Styrax odoratissimus in Styracaceae. The nearly complete mitochondrial genome of Trichiosoma vitellina is 15,245 bp long. It has the A + T content of 81.6% and contains 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 tRNA genes, and 2 rRNA genes. Gene rearrangement is present in the mitogenome of T. vitellina. All PCGs use standard ATN as start codons, and most PCGs have complete TAN as stop codons. Phylogenetic analysis demonstrates the position of T. vitellina in the Tenthredinoidea. This study provides essential data for the conservation genetics of T. vitellina and advances the understanding of the phylogeny of Cimbicidae. In the present study, the complete mitochondrial genome of an early diverging fungus Blastocladiella sp. was assembled by the next-generation sequencing. The complete mitochondrial genome of Blastocladiella sp. is 33, 800 bp in length and consists of 11,620 (34.38%) adenine, 5,047 (14.93%) cytosine, 6,025 (17.83%) guanosine and 11,108 (32.86%) thymine. The genome contains 19 protein-coding genes, 24 tRNA genes and 2 rRNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis based on the combined mitochondrial gene set showed that Blastocladiella sp. has a close relationship with Allomyces macrogynus and Blastocladiella emersonii. The chloroplast genome of the Magnolia species from Central America has never been reported. With its local use for food flavoring, medicine, and wood, M. mexicana has been of good economic importance. In the present study, the complete chloroplast genome of M. mexicana was assembled via the genome skimming data. As a typical quadripartite structure, the plastome of M. mexicana with 159,906 bp in length includes two inverted repeats (26,554 bp) separated by a small single copy region (18,761 bp) as well as a large single copy region (88,037 bp). This chloroplast genome consists of 131 different genes, including 86 protein coding genes (CDS), eight rRNA genes, and 37 tRNA genes. The maximum likelihood phylogenetic analysis showed that M. mexicana from Central America was closely related to an evergreen species, M. odoratissima from East Asia.
