Phenols are responsible for the only health claim of virgin olive oil (VOO) recognized by the European Commission EU 432/2012 and the European Food Safety Authority. In this research, we studied the decrease in the phenolic content of 160 extra VOOs (EVOOs) after 12 months storage in darkness at 20 °C. Phenolic concentration was decreased 42.0 ± 24.3% after this period and this reduction strongly depended on the initial phenolic profile. Hence, EVOOs with predominance in oleacein and oleocanthal experienced a larger decrease in phenolic content than oils enriched in other phenols. Complementarily, hydroxytyrosol and oleocanthalic acid increased significantly in aged EVOOs, which allowed their discrimination from recently produced EVOOs. These changes are explained by degradation of main secoiridoids during storage due to their antioxidant properties. Hydroxytyrosol and oleocanthalic acid can be considered markers of olive oil ageing, although they can also provide information about quality or stability.Researchers conduct phenomenological studies to better understand the experiences of phenomena. A content validity index (CVI) was calculated using eight experts. IRR tests were performed with five registered nurses working as university lecturers, and with six clinicians working as ambulance nurses. They individually rated the same simulated ambulance assignment. Based on the ratings IRR was calculated with intra-class correlation (ICC). The scale showed excellent CVI for items and scale. The ICC indicated substantial agreement in the group of lecturers and a high degree of agreement in the group of clinicians. This study provides validity evidence for a Swedish version of the scale, supporting its use in measuring clinical competence among students undergoing training to become ambulance nurses and paramedics.

It is commonly known that women with multiple sclerosis (MS) have an increased risk for relapses during the post-partum period. High-dose IV methylprednisolone is the first-line treatment for acute relapses. Methylprednisolone is administered to lactating women although there is insufficient data as to the levels of concentration in breast milk and serum, and the calculated steroid exposure to infants.

The study aimed to measure the transfer of methylprednisolone into breast milk and the correlation of milk and serum methylprednisolone concentrations in breastfeeding MS patients during and after infusion therapy.

The longissimus thoracis et lumborum (LTL) meat samples were treated with 0 (control), 0.01%, 0.025%, 0.05%, and 0.5% of cinnamon bark oil and stored at 4 °C for 16 days. Microbial populations of TVC, lactic acid bacteria, and Enterobacteriaceae were reduced up to 0.6 to 1.9 log CFU/g than control from day 4 to 16 during storage. The samples adding 0.025% and 0.05% cinnamon bark oil showed lower thiobarbituric acid reactive substance (TBARS) and pH values but higher L⁎, a⁎, R630/580 and Chroma values than all the other samples (P less then 0.05). The relative content of oxymyoglobin was higher for 0.01%, 0.025%, and 0.05% cinnamon bark oil samples after 12 days of storage than other treatments (P less then 0.05). In conclusion, cinnamon bark oil of 0.025% and 0.05% had a better preservative effect on the lamb meat quality during storage.
