Geopolitical segregation of Palestine has left a fragile healthcare system with an unequal distribution of services. Data from the Gaza Strip reflect an increase in infant mortality that coincided with a significant increase in neonatal mortality (12.0 to 20.3 per 1,000 live births).

A baseline study was carried out to evaluate available resources in neonatal units throughout Palestine.

A cross-sectional, hospital-based study was conducted in 2017 using the World Health Organization's "Hospital care for mothers and newborn babies quality assessment and improvement tool." Data on the main indicators were updated in 2018.

There were 38 neonatal units in Palestine 27 in the West Bank, 3 in East Jerusalem, and 8 in the Gaza Strip. There was an uneven geographic distribution of incubators in relation to population and births that was more marked in the Gaza Strip; 79% of neonatal units and 75% of incubators were in the West Bank. While almost all hospitals with neonatal units accepted very and extremely lot neonatal cases despite not being ready to receive these newborns due to considerable shortages in human resources, equipment, drugs, and essential blood tests, as well as frequent disruptions in the availability of based amenities. We performed a prospective review of all patients with NOF fractures admitted via the emergency department from September to October 2018 in a single district general hospital in the UK. We recorded patient demographics, time of admission, grade of physician performing block and paiwithout any complications. Our educational tool has enabled a significant increase in delivery of FIB.

Collaborative interprofessional practice improves health outcomes. Interprofessional education (IPE) is essential in improving this collaboration and the quality of care. Although the majority of IPE research focuses on students, the delivery of IPE requires multiple levels of support within educational institutions, particularly teaching staff that are positive about and advocate for IPE. This study explored the attitudes of teaching staff towards interprofessional collaboration across a range of professions in Health at King Saud University, Saudi Arabia.

A pre-test post-test design was used with 53 teaching staff from the Health Colleges, King Saud University, before and after an interprofessional development workshop. A 12-item, 3-subscale version of the IEPS was used to evaluate changes in the 3-subscales "competency and autonomy", "perceived need for cooperation" and "perception of actual cooperation".

This study involved teaching staff from medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, applied medical IPE, just as IPE is an integral component of interprofessional collaborative practice. The findings provided a baseline, as well as an incentive, for further development in IPE, from policy through to practice, across the Health Colleges. Findings also showed teaching staff having a positive attitude towards interprofessional collaboration. Further research is needed on tools for measuring IPC across university hierarchies and disciplines, as well as on enablers of IPE (and not just barriers).

The objective of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of the extended theory of planned behavior (TPB) in predicting COVID-19-infection prevention and control (IPC) among a sample of dental health-care workers (DHCWs) in Saudi Arabia and to examine their behavioral beliefs, normative beliefs, and control beliefs to better understand their views about COVID-19 IPC.

An online cross-sectional survey was administered among DHCWs in Saudi Arabia using convenience sampling. A questionnaire collected data on demographic characteristics and the 43 items from the TPB construct. One-way ANOVA and Independent sample

-tests were used to establish factors associated with TPB-construct scores. Multiple regression analyses with adjusted effects were used to identify significant predictors for intention from attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control variables. The significance level was set at 0.05.

A total of 324 study participants completed the questionnaire for a response rate of 40.5%. The current study suggests that the attitudes and subjective norms of DHCWs significantly predicted their intentions regarding COVID-19 IPC behavior. As such, it is recommended that comprehensive education and training programs on infection control pertaining to COVID-19 be implemented among DHCWs in Saudi Arabia so that their attitudes and behavior toward infection prevention are amplified.Narcolepsy is a central nervous system hypersomnia disorder characterized by uncontrollable episodes of daytime sleep, sleep state instability, and cataplexy (sudden loss of muscle tone precipitated by emotion). Individuals with narcolepsy report more frequent sleep-related crashes, near crashes, and drowsy driving than drivers with other sleep disorders. As such, evaluating risk of sleep-related crashes is of great importance for this patient population. There are no established guidelines for ensuring driving safety in patients with narcolepsy; however, many providers currently use a combination of subjective report, report of prior crashes or near-misses, report of previously falling asleep while driving, sleepiness screening tools, and maintenance of wakefulness testing (MWT) to determine risk. Driving simulator tests, though often unavailable to the clinician, provide data to support the use of MWT for evaluation of alertness in drivers with narcolepsy. Treatments such as modafinil may improve driving performance; however, the impact of other treatments such as stimulants and sodium oxybate on driving has not been extensively studied. Behavioral and lifestyle modifications may also reduce risk, including scheduled naps, driving only short distances, and avoiding driving after meals, sedating medications, and alcohol intake. Even with effective treatment, alertness in patients with narcolepsy may never reach that of normal drivers; however, studies have suggested that narcolepsy patients may be able to drive safely with appropriate limitations.

It is known that miR-532-5p is critical for neuronal differentiation. However, the role of miR-532-5p in depression remains unknown. This study aimed to investigate the role and mechanism of miR-532-5p in major depressive disorder (MDD).

The depression mice model was established by chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) and confirmed by forced swimming test (FST) and sucrose preference test (SPT). The role of miR-532-5p in MDD was detected by tail suspension test (TST), FST, SPT and SIT. QRT-PCR was used to detect the expression of miR-139-5p in hippocampus and BV-2 microglia of mice. ELISA and Western blotting were used to detect the expression of the nitric oxide synthase (NOS), proinflammatory cytokines (IL-6, IL-1β, TNF-α, and MCP-1) and transcriptional activator 3 (STAT3). Luciferase reporter assay was used to verify the downstream target genes of miR-532-5p.

MiR-532-5p was significantly reduced in the hippocampus of mice treated with CUMS. Overexpression of miR-532-5p significantly reduced CUMS-induced depression-like behaviors and suppressed the expression of IL-6, IL-1β, TNF-α and MCP-1. MiR-532-5p directly targeted signal transducers and STAT3 in BV2 cells. In addition, overexpression of miR-532-5p restrained the raise of inducible NOS and IL-6, IL-1 β, TNF-α and MCP-1 in LPS-exposed BV2 cells.

Traditional questionnaires assessing the severity of depression are limited and might not be appropriate for military personnel. We intend to explore the diagnostic ability of three machine learning methods for evaluating the depression status of Chinese recruits, using the Chinese version of Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II) as the standard.

Our diagnostic study was carried out in Luoyang City (Henan Province, China; 10/16/2018-12/10/2018) with a sample of 1000 Chinese male recruits selected using cluster convenient sampling. All participants completed the BDI and 3 questionnaires including the data of demographics, military careers and 18 factors. The participants were randomly selected as the training set and the testing at 21. The machine learning methods tested for assessing the presence or absence of depression status were neural network (NN), support vector machine (SVM), and decision tree (DT).

A total of 1000 participants completed the questionnaires, with 223 reporting depression status and 777 not. The highest sensitivity was observed for DT (94.1%), followed by SVM (93.4%) and NN (93.1%). The highest specificity was observed for NN (60.0%), followed by SVM (58.8%) and DT (43.3%). The area under the curve (AUC) of the SVM was the largest (0.862) compared with NN (0.860) and DT (0.734). The regression prediction error and error volatility of the SVM were the smallest.

We explored changes in spontaneous brain connectivity in patients with diffuse axonal injury (DAI), assessed via functional connectivity density (FCD) tests using different frequency bands.

In all, 23 patients with DAI (17 males and 6 females) and 23 healthy controls (HCs; 17 males and 6 females) were included. Functional magnetic resonance imaging scans were performed when the participants were in a resting state and the FCD levels in three frequency bands (slow-4 0.027-0.073 Hz, slow-5 0.01-0.027 Hz, and typical 0.01-0.08 Hz) were measured. In addition, Pearson's correlation coefficient was used to explore the relationship between clinical indices and brain regions with abnormal FCD values.

Compared to HCs, DAI patients had significantly greater FCD values in the right extranuclear/limbic lobe/cingulate gyrus and left limbic lobe/hippocampus/parahippocampal gyrus, and significantly lower FCD values in the left precuneus/posterior cingulate gyrus, in the slow-4 band. In the slow-5 band, the DAI patients had higher FCD values in the left inferior temporal gyrus/superior temporal gyrus, left parahippocampal gyrus/limbic lobe, left extranuclear/cingulate gyrus, and right medial frontal gyrus, and lower values in the right inferior frontal gyrus, right inferior parietal lobule, and left cingulate gyrus/limbic lobe.
