Prospero registration number CRD42020181398.Background Shoulder-hand syndrome (SHS) is a common complication in post-stroke patients. SHS has a large impact on patients and their families, communities, healthcare systems and businesses throughout the world. Non-pharmaceutical therapy for post-stroke SHS is the most common treatment in clinical practice, but their effectiveness is still unclear. The aim of this study is to assess the effect and safety of non-pharmaceutical therapeutic strategies for post-stroke SHS. Method We will search 3 in English and 4 in Chinese languages electronic databases regardless of publication date or language. We will include randomized controlled trials (RCTs) assessing the effect of any non-pharmaceutical therapy for post-stroke SHS. Primary outcomes will be any effective instrument for post-stroke SHS. Two authors will independently assess the risk of bias by using Cochrane tool of risk of bias. We will perform network meta-analysis in random effects model to estimate the indirect and mixed effects of different therapeutic strategies by R-3.5.1 software. We will assess the confidence in cumulative evidence by Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation. Results This study will be to assess the effect and safety of non-pharmaceutical therapy for post-stroke SHS. Fenugreek is the ripe seed of Trigonella foenum graecum Linn. In China, this plant is used to relieve menopausal symptoms in women. Although recent studies have shown that fenugreek may have a good effect on the menopausal symptoms, there is no meta-analysis to systematically evaluate its efficacy in improving menopausal vasomotor symptoms. Methods Randomized controlled trials that met the inclusion criteria will be retrieved in 5 English online databases and 4 Chinese online databases. The primary outcomes are changes in frequency and intensity of vasomotor symptoms that measured by validated scales. The secondary outcomes will include quality of life, blood hormone parameters, blood biochemical parameters, and adverse events. Heterogeneity of data will be assessed by I and Cochrane Q statistics. Sensitivity analysis and subgroup analysis will be performed to explore the sources of heterogeneity. Egger test and Begg test will be used to assess the publication bias. Finally, we will evaluate the quality of evidence by the GRADE approach. All the data statistics will be performed using the STATA 15.0 software. An enzymatically amplified 2-site immunoassay was used to measure serum AMH level.The MD1 group shows a significant decrease of AMH values (median 0.7 ng/mL; range 0 - 4.9 ng/mL) compared with age-matched healthy controls (P less then .01). The TCA cases were sub-grouped based on mechanism of injury then compared in terms of patient demographics, vital signs, patterns of injuries, resuscitation practices, and outcomes.Outcomes; On scene mortality rate and pre-hospital return of spontaneous circulation.Among the 204 TCA patients, 140 patients met the inclusion criteria. This whole group was then divided in to 4 subgroups road traffic accident (RTA) 76% (n=106), fall from height (FFH) 13% (n = 18), slip/fall 4% (n = 6), and assaults 7% (n = 10). There was significant difference between the four mechanisms in mean age (P = less then .001), type of injury (P = .005), head injury (P = .005), chest injury (P = .003), GCS score less then 9 (P = .004) and initial hypertension (P = less then .001). Initial hypertension and GCS score less then 9 were only documented in head injuries of RTA and slip/fall groups. Significant difference was also seen in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (P = .006), airway management (P = .035) and on scene mortality rate (P = .003). All patients who had isolated head injury in FFH were pronounced dead on scene, 60%.Not all TCA incidents are the same, there are different pattern of injuries in each TCA mechanism. Head injuries are predominantly seen in RTA, FFH, slip /falls and chest injuries are seen in assaults. This can influence emergency medical services personals resuscitation plan. The Cochrane RevMan V5.3 bias assessment tool is implemented to assess bias risk, data integration risk, meta-analysis risk, and subgroup analysis risk (if conditions are met). Results This study will provide a comprehensive review and evaluation of the available evidence for the treatment of myofascitis with this therapy. Prospero registration number CRD42020151476.To evaluate the efficacy and safety of high viscosity bone cement in the percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) for treatment of single-level osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures.Eighty patients were enrolled in this study. All patients were received PVP, and they were divided into 2 groups according to the viscosity of bone cement, either high viscosity bone cement (HV group) or low viscosity cement (LV group). Oswestry Disability Index questionnaire and visual analog scale as clinical assessments were quantified. The operative time and injected bone cement volume were recorded. The anterior vertebral height (AVH) and bone cement leakage were evaluated in the radiograph.No significant difference was observed in the operative time. Both groups showed significant improvements in pain relief and functional capacity status (visual analog scale and Oswestry disability index scores) after surgery. Less bone cement volume was injected into the the injured vertebra in the HV group and statistical significance was found between both groups. In the HV group, there was lower leakage rate and less patients of severe leakage compared with the LV group. However, the correction of AVH showed no significant differences between the 2 groups and no significant loss of AVH was observed in 2 groups.High-viscosity and low-viscosity PVP have the similar effects in improving quality of life and relieving pain. There were lower cement leakage rate and less patients of severe leakage in the PVP with high-viscosity bone cement.
