This information is useful for identifying which measurements could most easily differentiate between early and late-ripening vineyards. LWP and Ts during an early physiological stage (pea size) permitted warm and cold areas to be differentiated.We propose a method for synthesizing eye images from segmentation masks with a desired style. The style encompasses attributes such as skin color, texture, iris color, and personal identity. Our approach generates an eye image that is consistent with a given segmentation mask and has the attributes of the input style image. We apply our method to data augmentation as well as to gaze redirection. The previous techniques of synthesizing real eye images from synthetic eye images for data augmentation lacked control over the generated attributes. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in synthesizing realistic eye images with given characteristics corresponding to the synthetic labels for data augmentation, which is further useful for various tasks such as gaze estimation, eye image segmentation, pupil detection, etc. We also show how our approach can be applied to gaze redirection using only synthetic gaze labels, improving the previous state of the art results. The main contributions of our paper are i) a novel approach for Style-Based eye image generation from segmentation mask; ii) the use of this approach for gaze-redirection without the need for gaze annotated real eye images.

The prevalence of smokeless tobacco (SLT) use among firefighters is substantially higher than the general population and similar occupational groups. Despite the significant health risks associated with SLT and its impact on occupational readiness, there are no occupationally-tailored SLT education or treatment programs for the fire service. The purpose of this study was to beta test QUIT SPIT!, a self-help SLT cessation program that is culturally tailored for the US fire service and firefighters who are interested in quitting.

After development and tailoring the QUIT SPIT! SLT cessation program for firefighters, the feasibility and acceptability of the program were evaluated in a sample of eleven SLT-using firefighters who wanted to quit. The primary outcome was a 7-day point prevalence of SLT abstinence measured at 4 and 12 weeks post-enrollment follow-up assessments.

Four firefighters reported having quit SLT (7-days point prevalence) at follow-up at 12 weeks. Those who did not achieve SLT abstinence reported reductions in frequency and quantity in SLT use and demonstrated a decrease in nicotine dependence. Thoracic reirradiation for non-small cell lung cancer with curative intent is potentially associated with severe toxicity. There are limited prospective data on the best method to deliver this treatment. We sought to develop expert consensus guidance on the safe practice of treating non-small cell lung cancer with radiation therapy in the setting of prior thoracic irradiation.

Twenty-one thoracic radiation oncologists were invited to participate in an international Delphi consensus process. Guideline statements were developed and refined during 4 rounds on the definition of reirradiation, selection of appropriate patients, pretreatment assessments, planning of radiation therapy, and cumulative dose constraints. Consensus was achieved once ≥75% of respondents agreed with a statement. Statements that did not reach consensus in the initial survey rounds were revised based on respondents' comments and re-presented in subsequent rounds.

Resident physicians use social media (SM) for many reasons. We sought to characterize current SM use by radiation oncology (RO) trainees for education and professional development.

An anonymous 40-question survey was sent by e-mail to RO residents in the 2018 to 2019 academic year. SM platform use, time spent on SM, professional use, and opinions regarding SM use were assessed. Descriptive statistics and a univariate logistic regression analysis were performed to identify factors associated with perceptions of SM and spending >25% of SM time for academic or professional purposes.

Of the 615 residents surveyed, 149 responded (24% response rate). Facebook (73%), theMednet (62%), Instagram (59%), Twitter (57%), and Doximity (50%) were the top SM platforms used. Most respondents (53%) reported <25% of overall SM time on professional/academic purposes, and 21% reported using SM >60 minutes per day over the past week. Residents with an RO mentor on SM (n = 35; 24%; odds ratio [OR] 2.79; 95% confidenceported that SM provides novel educational content and can help with career development. Potential disadvantages of SM for trainees may include distraction and pressure to maintain a SM presence. SM use by RO trainees merits further research to optimize its potential for education and professional development.

Our purpose was to report outcomes of a novel palliative radiation therapy protocol that omits computed tomography simulation and prospectively collects electronic patient-reported outcomes (ePROs).

Patients receiving extracranial, nonstereotactic, linear accelerator-based palliative radiation therapy who met inclusion criteria (no mask-based immobilization and a diagnostic computed tomography within 4 weeks) were eligible. Global pain was scored with the 11-point numerical pain rating scale (NPRS). Patients were coded as having osseous or soft tissue metastases and no/mild versus severe baseline pain (NPRS ≥ 5). Pain response at 4 weeks was measured according to the international consensus (no analgesia adjustment). Transition to ePRO questionnaires was completed in 3 phases. Initially, pain assessments were collected on paper for 11 months, then pilot ePROs for 1 month and then, after adjustments, revised ePROs from 1 year onwards. ePRO feasibility criteria were established with reference to the paper-beceiving palliative extracranial radiation therapy avoided simulation, streamlining the treatment process and maximizing patient convenience. The Cure Glomerulonephropathy (CureGN) Network has established numerous quality control procedures to manage the 70 participating sites in the United States, Canada, and Europe. This effort is supported and guided by the activities of several committees, including Data Quality, Recruitment and Retention, and Central Review, that work in tandem with the Data Coordinating Center to monitor the study. We have implemented coordinator training and feedback channels, data queries of questionable or missing data, and developed performance metrics for recruitment, retention, visit completion, data entry, recording of patient-reported outcomes, collection, shipping and accessing of biological samples and pathology materials, and processing, cataloging and accessing genetic data and materials.

We describe the development of data queries and site Report Cards, and their use in monitoring and encouraging excellence in site performance. We demonstrate improvements in data quality and completeness over 4 years after implementing these activities. We describe quality initiatives addressing specific challenges in collecting and cataloging whole slide images and other kidney pathology data, and novel methods of data quality assessment.

One needs to consider rigorous experimental procedures and mathematical models to make the results of this type of test comparable. link3 The present paper will discuss previously published results to further investigate the statistical modeling of the dielectric properties of human blood. The analysis shows that previously published results were related to Modified Weibull (MW) distributions of relaxation times, not Gaussian distributions, as reported. This re-analysis prevents the ill definition of fitting parameters, making sure they present physically justifiable values. Besides, for fluids presenting a Modified Weibull distribution of relaxation times, novel exact and closed-form expressions for the real and imaginary parts of complex permittivities were obtained in terms of generalized hypergeometric functions. Also, a high accuracy approximation was built for the imaginary part of the complex permittivity, creating an easy-to-use alternative expression for practitioners. The new results are used to fit experimental results for human blood, showing that more robust estimators are built for the parameters involved, which can be used as thresholds to classify the dielectric behavior of blood as normal (healthy) or anomalous (sick).The analytical experiment was executed to present detailed reports on the concentration of heavy metals (nickel, iron, zinc, manganese, chromium, lead, and cadmium) in farmed shrimp, Penaeus monodon and its concomitant human health risks upon consumption. A total of 147 farms from six sub-districts of Khulna were selected for sample collection and concentration of heavy metals were determined by Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS) method, following electro-thermal heater digestion. Ni and Cr were found considerably below the detectable limit (BDL) in four sub-districts, while Cr found in shrimps from Rupsa and Paikgacha were far higher than the maximum recommended limit defined by FAO and WHO. The average concentrations of Fe and Mn in all sub-districts crossed the recommendations, whereas average concentrations of Zn, Ni, Cd, and Pb were within the recommendations. Regardless of sampling site, target hazard quotients (THQ) of more than 1 contributed by Fe confirmed higher level of hazard index (HI), indicating potential human health risk.
