In future miRNA-focused treatment strategies, these studies will provide valuable information for the formulation of exercise methods and will provide useful and targeted exercise programs for elderly individuals with sarcopenia.Whole-body vibration exercise (WBVE), a nonimpact, viable and safe type of exercise, has been reported to be useful in the physical rehabilitation of obesity. Aim of the study was to compare the acute effects of WBVE with a session of walking and running (AER) on cardiovascular, neuromotor and musculoskeletal parameters in obese subjects. Sixteen adult obese subjects performed 3 tests (WBVE at 30 and 45 Hz, AER) randomly in different days. An increase in heart rate was recorded after AER and 45 Hz WBVE (p less then 0.001), while only AER increased systolic (p = 0.003) and diastolic blood pressure (p = 0.004) and ratings of perceived exertion (p less then 0.001). All 3 exercises determined lactate increase [AER p less then 0.001, 45 Hz (p = 0.04), 30 Hz (p = 0.03) WBVE] and sit-and-reach (AER p = 0.002, 45 and 30 Hz WBVE p less then 0.001) and fingertip-to-floor improvements (AER p = 0.003, 30 and 45 Hz WBVE p less then 0.001), while only 30 Hz WBVE determined improvement in stair climbing test (p less then 0.05). Considering the lack of effects of 30 Hz WBVE on the cardiovascular system and fatigue and its positive effect on flexibility and muscle power, this procedure can be considered an appropriate exercise protocol for the obese population.Fear is an adaptive response that alerts individuals to the presence of a danger or threat. However, in the context of the current novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the fear experienced could be intense because the number of victims of the virus is continuously increasing globally and is inducing severe mental health concerns. The seven-item Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S) assesses the severity of fear related to COVID-19 and has already been validated in many languages. The present study evaluated the psychometric properties of the Amharic (Ethiopian) version of the FCV-19S. An online survey including the Amharic versions of the FCV-19S and the six-item UCLA Loneliness Scale (ULS-6) was administered to 307 Amharic-speaking participants using convenience sampling. The participants' age ranged between 18 and 70 years. In the evaluation process, confirmatory factor analysis, Item Response Theory, concurrent validity, and reliabilities (Cronbach's alpha, McDonald's omega, Guttman's lambda, and composite reliability) of the Amharic version of the FCV-19S were performed. The uni-dimensional structure of the FCV-19S was confirmed and the Amharic version of the FCV-19S had strong psychometric properties. All reliability coefficients of the Amharic FCV-19S were satisfactory, with sound concurrent validity shown by significant and positive correlations with loneliness. The results indicate that the FCV-19S can be used in research to assess the fear of COVID-19 among Amharic-speaking populations.Various levels of lockdown due to COVID-19 limit people's habitual physical activity. We examined the COVID-19-related changes in exercise volume in 1079 exercisers from eight Spanish-speaking nations based on exercise addiction categories, primary reasons for exercise, and forms of exercise. The COVID-19-related decrease in exercise volume was 49.24% in the sample. The proportion of the risk of exercise addiction was 15.2%. Most (81.7%) of the participants exercised for a health-related reason. These exercisers reported lesser decrease in their exercise volume than those exercising for social reasons. The risk of exercise addiction was inversely related to changes in exercise volume, but after controlling for passion and perfectionism the relationship vanished. The reported effect of COVID-19 on training did not differ between the exercise addiction groups. The present study tested a model concerning the relationship between resilience, hope, and subjective happiness using structural equation modeling to identify the mediating role of fear of COVID-19. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among a convenience sample of 971 Turkish individuals (aged 18 to 74 years) from 75 of 81 cities in Turkey. The survey included the Subjective Happiness Scale, Fear of COVID-19 Scale, Brief Resilience Scale, and the Dispositional Hope Scale, and data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The SEM demonstrated an association between resilience-hope and subjective happiness was mediated by fear of COVID-19 (CMIN/df = 2.664, CFI = 0.994, NFI = 0.984, TLI = 0.984, GFI = 0.994, RMSEA = 0.044, SRMR = 0.024, AIC = 81.334, ECVI = 0.084). Resilience had a direct effect and an indirect effect on subjective happiness via fear of COVID-19. Hope also had a direct effect and an indirect effect on subjective happiness via fear of COVID-19. Consequently, in the fight against COVID-19, individuals who are resistant to stress and have a belief that they can find a way to cope can help prevent the fear of COVID-19 and so enhance good mental health.During the last two decades, there has been a sharp increase in both interest and knowledge about the coronary microcirculation.
