9% saline solution at +4 °C, representing 80-90% drug persistence after 2 weeks. PACAP1-38 in the artificial tear showed very fast degradation at room temperature, but was stable at +4 °C. In summary, PACAP1-38 has higher stability than PACAP1-27, with highest stability at +4 °C in water solution, but both peptides in each medium can be stored for relatively longer periods without significant degradation. These data can provide reference for future therapeutic use of PACAP in eye drops.Hydrocyanic acid (HCN) is a well-known defensive allomone in the chemical arsenal of millipedes in the order Polydesmida. The presence of HCN in the headspace vapor of adult Xystocheir dissecta (Wood, 1867), a common millipede from the San Francisco Bay Area, was traced by laser desorption/ionization-mass spectrometry (LDI-MS). To accomplish this, the headspace vapor surrounding caged, live millipedes was allowed to diffuse passively over gold-nanoparticle (AuNP) deposits placed at various distances from the emitting source. The stainless steel plates with AuNP deposits were removed and irradiated by a 355-nm laser. The gaseous ions generated in this way were detected by time-of-flight mass spectrometry. The intensity of the mass spectrometric peak detected at m/z 249 for the Au(CN)2- complex anion was compared to that of the residual Au- signal (m/z 197). Using this procedure, HCN vapors produced by the live millipedes could be detected up to 50 cm away from the source. Furthermore, the addition of H2O2, as an internal oxygen source for the gold cyanidation reaction that takes place in the AuNP deposits, significantly increased the detection sensitivity. Using the modified H2O2 addition procedure, HCN could now be detected at 80 cm from the source. Moreover, we found a decreasing intensity ratio of the Au(CN)2-/Au- signals as the distance from the emitting source increased, following an exponential-decay distribution as predicted by Fick's law of diffusion. METHODS We reviewed our surgical series of 101 CRC patients with PM who underwent R0 resection with curative intent. The overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) rates after metastasectomy as well as the prognostic factors of survival were analyzed. RESULTS Fifty-five patients (54%) experienced recurrence, of whom 21 had developed extrapulmonary metastasis (EPM) before lung resection. Importazole Multivariate analysis restricted to patients with recurrence identified a disease-free interval (DFI) shorter than a year as an adverse prognosticator of OS (HR, 2.68; 95% CI 1.40-5.51; P  less then  0.01) and DFS (HR, 8.54; 95% CI 3.0-24.6; P  less then  0.001). EPM was also identified as an adverse prognosticator of OS for patients with recurrence (HR, 3.16; 95% CI 1.64-5.88; P  less then  0.001). There was a significant difference in the 5-year OS rate between patients with and without EPM (27.9% vs 64.9%, P  less then  0.001), and between those with a DFI shorter and longer than a year (40.0% vs 75.0%, P  less then  0.01). Among these, 31 patients (56%) bore lung-limited recurrence after their first lung resection, of whom 20 (36%) underwent a total of 29 repeat pulmonary metastasectomies, which resulted in a 5-year OS rate of 71.3% after the second lung resection. CONCLUSIONS Our findings indicate that CRC patients with PM whose DFI is shorter than a year after lung resection or those with prior EPM more frequently experience multisite recurrence. Our tertiary center provides 24/7 ECMO implantation and transport service nationwide. In 2018, 150 ECLS/ECMO were implanted, and 40 patients were transported on ECLS/ECMO. In this report, we describe a successful veno-arterial ECLS implantation in a super obese (BMI 78 kg/m2) 50-year-old female patient at a primary care hospital with subsequent helicopter transfer to our tertiary center.Phonosemantics is a school of thought which believes that each sound or phoneme carries a specific psychological impression allotted by nature. And these psychological impressions were used to evolve different languages. Work has been done on this ground, but there is still scope for further research into the subject. The paper presents a new hypothesis, explaining the psychological representations of all the important IPA alphabets. The paper proposes a model of psychological mind, on which all the basic phonemes are placed, enabling us to understand the basic relationship between psychological semantic values and their phonetic values. To prove the correctness of the allocation, the paper applies these semantic features to 245 words of different languages, along with some additional evidences. The paper resolves the confusion regarding the same name for different objects, different names for the same object, the question of arbitrariness, and other queries raised by modern linguists.BACKGROUND Asthenoteratospermia with multiple morphological abnormalities in the sperm flagella (MMAF) is a significant cause of male infertility. WDR19 is a core component in the IFT-A complex and has a critical role in intraflagellar transport. However, the role of WDR19 mutations in male infertility has yet to be examined. METHODS AND RESULTS We performed whole exome sequencing (WES) for 65 asthenoteratospermia individuals and identified a proband who carried a homozygous WDR19 (c.A3811G, p.K1271E) mutation from a consanguineous family. Systematic examinations, including CT scanning and retinal imaging, excluded previous ciliopathic syndromes in the proband. Moreover, semen analysis of this patient showed that the progressive rate decreased to zero, and the sperm flagella showed multiple morphological abnormalities. Scanning and transmission electron microscopy assays indicated that the ultrastructure of sperm flagella in the patient was completely destroyed, while immunofluorescence revealed that WDR19 was absent from the sperm neck and flagella. Moreover, IFT140 and IFT88, predicted to interact with WDR19 directly, were mis-allocated in the WDR19-mutated sperm. Notably, the MMAF subject harboring WDR19 variant and his partner successfully achieved clinical pregnancy through intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). CONCLUSIONS We identified WDR19 as a novel pathogenic gene for male infertility caused by asthenoteratospermia in the absence of other ciliopathic phenotypes, and that patients carrying WDR19 variant can have favorable pregnancy outcomes following ICSI.
