The performance comparison is done at various social trust scenarios and device densities. We show that our proposed schemes can significantly improve the throughput of D2D communications, particularly when relays have different battery power levels in weak social trust scenarios. Finally, we show that the performance of our proposed scheme MRS-ST-BL varies with the change in battery power threshold.Disinfection is crucial to control and prevent microbial pathogens on surfaces. Nonetheless, disinfectants misuse in routine disinfection has increased the concern on their impact on bacterial resistance and cross-resistance. This work aims to develop a formulation for surface disinfection based on the combination of a natural product, cinnamaldehyde, and a widely used biocide, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide. The wiping method was based on the Wiperator test (ASTM E2967-15) and the efficacy evaluation of surface disinfection wipes test (EN 166152015). After formulation optimization, the wiping of a contaminated surface with 6.24 log10 colony-forming units (CFU) of Escherichia coli or 7.10 log10 CFU of Staphylococcus aureus led to a reduction of 4.35 log10 CFU and 4.27 log10 CFU when the wipe was impregnated with the formulation in comparison with 2.45 log10 CFU and 1.50 log10 CFU as a result of mechanical action only for E. coli and S. aureus, respectively. Furthermore, the formulation prevented the transfer of bacteria to clean surfaces. The work presented highlights the potential of a combinatorial approach of a classic biocide with a phytochemical for the development of disinfectant formulations, with the advantage of reducing the concentration of synthetic biocides, which reduces the potentially negative environmental and public health impacts from their routine use.Intestinal failure-associated liver disease (IFALD) is a life-threatening complication of parenteral nutrition (PN) and is most prevalent in the preterm neonatal population receiving long-term PN. In this study, we report the outcome of our experience with fish oil monotherapy for IFALD in a fish oil-based combination lipid emulsion administered to preterm low birth weight infants. Fasting neonates were administered as PN according to our center's nutrition protocol. A diagnosis of IFALD was made when the serum direct bilirubin levels were >2.0 mg/dL in two consecutive measurements that were more than one week apart, without evidence of intrinsic causes of liver dysfunction. The management of IFALD was conducted by switching the lipid emulsion from combination lipid emulsion to fish oil monotherapy at 1.0 g/kg/day, infused over 24 h. Fifteen infants met the criteria for IFALD and received fish oil monotherapy. The median gestational age was 27.5 weeks and the median birth weight was 862.5 g. IFALD was successfully reversed in 11 infants (11/15, 73.3%). The median duration of fish oil monotherapy was 39 days. Direct bilirubin values were initially elevated and then steadily declined from the third week of treatment onward. The enteral tolerance increased in varying degrees during the treatment period. The mean weight gain was 26.0 g/day during fish oil monotherapy. Temsirolimus cell line Omegaven® (Fresenius Kabi Austria Gmbh, Graz, Austria) at a dose of 1.0 g/kg/day was well tolerated, and no adverse events related to Omegaven use were seen. The reversal of IFALD in preterm infants on combination lipid emulsion containing fish oil was achieved by switching to fish oil monotherapy. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between relative or absolute intensity and changes in range of motion and passive stiffness after static stretching. A total of 65 healthy young adults voluntarily participated in this study and performed static stretching of the plantar flexor-muscle for 120 s. Dorsiflexion range of motion and passive torque during passive dorsiflexion before and after stretching were assessed. We measured the passive torque at a given angle when the minimum angle was recorded before and after stretching. The angle during stretching was defined as the absolute intensity. Dorsiflexion range of motion before stretching was defined as 100%, and the ratio (%) of the angle during stretching was defined as the relative intensity. A significant correlation was found between absolute intensity and change in passive torque at a given angle (r = -0.342), but relative intensity and range of motion (r = 0.444) and passive torque at dorsiflexion range of motion (r = 0.259). A higher absolute intensity of stretching might be effective in changing the passive properties of the muscle-tendon unit. In contrast, a higher relative intensity might be effective in changing the range of motion, which could be contributed by stretch tolerance.Although much research has been conducted on workaholism, its crossover effects remain uninvestigated, especially in the context of organizations. Based on the job demands-resources (JD-R) model of burnout and the conservation of resources (COR) theory, we established a dual-path structural model to examine the effects of supervisors' workaholism on subordinates' turnover intention through two types of job demands (perceived workload and interpersonal conflict) as well as subordinates' emotional exhaustion. The results revealed that supervisors' workaholism is positively related to subordinates' emotional exhaustion through increased perceived workload and interpersonal conflict, which result in subordinates' turnover intention. This study has made a contribution to the literature by extending the scope of workaholism research from self-perspective to other-perspective. The findings also have practical implications for organizations and their human resources (HR) practitioners. The detection of ignitable liquids (ILs) can be crucial when it comes to determining arson cases. Such identification of ILs is a challenging task that may be affected by a number of factors. Microbial degradation is considered one of three major processes that can alter the composition of IL residues. Since biodegradation is a time related phenomenon, it should be studied at different stages of development. This article presents a method based on ion mobility spectroscopy (IMS) which has been used as an electronic nose. In particular, ion mobility sum spectrum (IMSS) in combination with chemometric techniques (hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA)) has been applied for the characterization of different biodegraded ILs. This method intends to use IMSS to identify a range of ILs regardless of their degree of biodegradation. Three ILs (diesel, gasoline and kerosene) from three different commercial brands were evaluated after remaining in a soil substrate for several lengths of time (0, 2, 5, 13 and 38 days).
