World Health Organization (WHO) recommends rotavirus vaccine for all national immunization programs (NIPs). To provide country-specific evidence, we conducted economic evaluation of a monovalent rotavirus vaccination using specific data of the pilot phase in Thailand.

A Markov model was adopted to compare the 2020 birth cohort once receiving rotavirus vaccination versus no vaccination from healthcare and societal perspective over five years. Data on disease burden, vaccine effectiveness, costs and utilities were taken from a cohort study in two provinces of Thailand. Sensitivity analyses were performed to test the robustness of the results.

Rotavirus vaccination would reduce rotavirus diarrhea and costs of illness by 48% and 71%, respectively, over the first five years of life. At USD 13 per dose, vaccine was cost-effective with the ICERs of USD 4,114 and USD 1,571 per QALY gained from healthcare and societal perspective, respectively. Results were sensitive to incidence and vaccine cost. The budget for vaccine purchasing was estimated at USD 13 million per year.

Emergent cesarean delivery (CD) carries a high risk for postpartum infection. In cases with a "splash" povidone-iodine (PI) skin preparation, prophylactic postoperative antibiotics (PP-Abx) are sometimes utilized, but the benefit is unclear.

To evaluate if the use of PP-Abx decreases postpartum infection after emergent CD with "splash" PI skin preparation.

Cohort study of patients undergoing emergent CD with PI skin preparation from July 2012 to April 2020 at a single institution. Cases were identified using a natural language search engine, DEEP-6, with key terms "emergent" and "cesarean delivery." Patients with chorioamnionitis or non-PI skin preparation (e.g. chlorhexidine) were excluded. The primary exposure was use of PP-Abx. The primary outcome was postpartum infection or wound complication, defined as a composite endometritis, wound infection, cellulitis, seroma, hematoma, or intra-abdominal abscess. Rates of postpartum infection or wound complication were stratified by use of PP-Abx. Demographicr wound complication, which is important as we consider antibiotic stewardship. More studies are needed to identify treatments that decrease infectious morbidity with emergent CD.

The goal of this study is to contribute to a better understanding of how gender and profession affect the role of self-efficacy in sharing expertise and decision-making. Validated questionnaires were answered by a cross-sectional sample of 108 physicians and nurses working in mental health care teams. A moderated mediation analysis was performed. Results reveal that the impact of sharing knowledge on informational role self-efficacy is negative for nurses. Being a nurse negatively affects the relation between informational role self-efficacy and participating in decision-making. Here, we created a series of truncated and point-mutant Tip proteins to identify the critical residues in the Tip bioactivity N-terminal 80-aa residues were dispensable for the Tip activity; we identified that Asp82, Leu84, and Arg85 are crucial in the Tip function. Furthermore, a synthetic 15-aa peptide (P1) that corresponds to Leu73 to Ala87 is shown to suffice for PilB delocalization, twitching inhibition, and virulence attenuation upon exogenous administration. The transgenic flies expressing the 15-aa peptide were resistant to P. aeruginosa infections as well. PCOS often showed abnormal follicular development. Previous studies have found that the increased apoptosis of granulosa cells (GCs) is one of the key factors leading to follicular dysplasia. It has been found that the decrease or deletion of PATL2 function can significantly inhibit the development and maturation of human oocytes. We found that PATL2 was also expressed in human ovarian GCs, suggesting that PATL2 may be involved in the regulation of related biological events in GCs. This study aims to explore the function of PATL2 on regulation of GCs apoptosis, and the potential role of PATL2 in the development of PCOS-related abnormal follicles.

To explore the effects of physical and social structures on university student mental health in the UK.

Using a cross-sectional sample of newly acquainted student residents living in shared accommodation in North West England (

 = 904), this study sought to investigate how accommodation environments influence students' mental health with a focus on the concept of relational spaces.

Within the milieu of university accommodation, a low sense of belonging and feeling uncomfortable were associated with higher levels of depression, anxiety, and loneliness. Poor relationships with fellow residents and not using communal areas were associated with higher levels of depression and loneliness, whilst sharing cooking with others was associated with higher levels of depression and anxiety.

For students to flourish in their new homes, accommodation providers must consider relational wellbeing, making places that foster a sense of belonging where students feel sufficiently connected to others. As empowering communities and promoting community cohesion is central to health and wellbeing promotion, greater efforts need to be made to consider relational aspects of space and wellbeing in the design and stewardship of student accommodation.
