An applicable clinical response prediction formula was derived. Ovarian cancer-specific gene signatures and related pathway scores provide a robust preliminary indicator for ovarian cancer patients prior to anti-PD-1 therapy decisions.Severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) is often associated with pulmonary inflammation leading to acute lung injury. Daphnetin, a natural coumarin derivative, has been reported to exert anti-inflammatory effects. Here, we explored the effect and possible mechanism of daphnetin in a mouse model of SAP-associated lung injury induced by an intraperitoneal injection of L-arginine. The severity of pancreatic and lung injury is determined by histology and its score. Immunostaining of inflammatory and apoptotic cells was used to demonstrate lung tissue inflammation and apoptosis; ELISA analysis of serum and tissue cytokine levels; and western blotting and immunohistochemical staining for the activated Janus kinase 2 (JAK2)-signal transducer and activator of transcription protein 3 (STAT3) signalling pathway in lung tissues. Daphnetin pretreatment significantly reduced SAP-induced pancreatic and lung tissue damage, reduced interleukin-6 and tumour necrosis factor-α concentrations in both serum and lung tissues, reduced serum amylase and myeloperoxidase activities, and reduced macrophage (CD11b) and neutrophil (Ly6G) infiltration and cell apoptosis in the lung tissue. Moreover, SAP-induced phosphorylation of JAK2 and STAT3 in the lung tissue was also significantly diminished by the daphnetin pretreatment. These results indicated that daphnetin reduces SAP-associated lung tissue damage, likely by inhibiting the activation of JAK2-STAT3 signalling.ulked Segregant Analysis (BSA) is a rapid strategy for identifying genetic markers in specific regions of the phenotypical population and it has been widely used for QTLs mapping in smaller mixed F2 and F3 populations. We applied a modified BSA method to assessed genome-wide homozygous and heterozygous linkage patterns in the Chinese Wagyu Beef Cattle F2/F3 mixed population. Two overlapped regions from F2 and F3 populations on autosomes were found with high-density heterozygote alleles between high and low intramuscular fat groups. Regions from 24.8 M ~ 29.6 M of chromosome 23 were identified as most significantly correlated to the intramuscular fat in our samples. We also identified other 4 potential loci on chromosomes 5, 9, 15, and 21 correlated with Intramuscular fat. This study provided a novel low-cost method for QTLs mapping and identify molecular markers of phenotypical changes in a small mixed population. At present, prognostic biomarkers of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) are fewer. The aim of this study was to explore the predictive value of soluble osteoclast-associated receptor (sOSCAR) level for the major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) occurring within 30 days after ACS. From January to August 2020, a total of 108 patients with ACS who were admitted to our hospital, were enrolled in this study. Of the 108 patients, 79 were men and 29 women. Patient-related data, including age, sex, body mass index, history of type 2 diabetes, history of hyperlipidemia and serum sOSCAR level, were collected. All patients were followed up for 30 days. Based on MACE occurrence, the 108 patients were divided into MACE group (n = 17) and non-MACE group (n = 91). The baseline data were compared between the two groups, MACE-independent risk factors were identified by multivariate regression analysis, and the predictive value of sOSCAR for MACE occurring within 30 days after CAS was analyzed using receiver operating characterng the UA, STEMI and NSTEMI groups. Serum sOSCAR level may be used as a predictor of MACE occurring within the short-term after ACS. The higher the sOSCAR level, the lower the MACE incidence. The current study aims to provide a fine-scale spatiotemporal estimate of malaria incidence among Cameroonian under-5, and to determine its associated environmental factors, to set up preventive interventions that are adapted to each health district of Cameroon. Routine data on symptomatic malaria in children under-5 collected in health facilities, between 2012 and 2018 were used. The trend of malaria cases was assessed by the Mann-Kendall (M-K) test. A time series decomposition was applied to malaria incidence to extract the seasonal component. Malaria risk was estimated by the standardised incidence ratio (SIR) and smoothed by a hierarchical Bayesian spatiotemporal model. In total, 4,052,216 cases of malaria were diagnosed between 2012 and 2018. There was a gradual increase per year, from 369,178 in 2012 to 652,661 in 2018. After adjusting the data for completeness, the national incidence ranged from 489‰ in 2012 to 603‰ in 2018, with an upward trend (M-K test p-value  less then  0.001). At the regional level, an upward trend was observed in Adamaoua, Centre without Yaoundé, East, and South regions. There was a positive spatial autocorrelation of the number of malaria incident-cases per district per year as suggested by the Moran's I test (statistic range between 0.11 and 0.53). The crude SIR showed a heterogeneous malaria risk with values ranging from 0.00 to 8.90, meaning that some health districts have a risk 8.9 times higher than the national annual level. check details The incidence and risk of malaria among under-5 in Cameroon are heterogeneous and vary significantly across health districts and seasons. It is crucial to adapt malaria prevention measures to the specificities of each health district, in order to reduce its burden in health districts where the trend is upward. The aim of the study is to explore the distribution patterns and internal correlations of the morphological parameters of the cornea in patients with age-related cataract. The Pentacam HR was used to measure anterior corneal astigmatism (ACA), posterior corneal astigmatism (PCA), total corneal astigmatism (TCA) and keratometric corneal astigmatism (KCA). With age, the proportion of with-the-rule (WTR) ACA decreased from 65.31% to 23.63%, while the against-the-rule (ATR) ACA increased from 26.53% to 56.20%. PCA exceeded 0.50 D in 9.14% of eyes, while 76.35% of them were ATR. The magnitude of ACA was positively correlated with PCA in the whole sample, with a more significant correlation in WTR eyes (sr = 0.349, P  less then  0.001). The vector summation effect of PCA to ACA changed from compensation to augmentation with aging. In 57.53% of WTR eyes, KCA was overestimated by an average of 0.21 ± 0.17 D, while it was underestimated by 0.38 ± 0.27 D in 87.62% of ATR eyes. In conclusion, among age-related cataract patients, ACA and TCA gradually shifted from WTR to ATR with aging, while most PCA remained as ATR.
