Background Limited research studies have been conducted on nutritional risks among female athletes. Therefore, this literature review focuses on rigorously designed studies that examined nutritional risks among female athletes with further recommendations for athletes, coaches, parents, and health professionals, which would help improve the health of female athletes. Methods This review evaluates the most recent research on nutritional risk among female athletes. Inclusion criteria included peer-reviewed studies of original research on human subjects 13 years of age or older; sample size of N ≥ 19; and studies with a thorough description of their sample and methods. A systematic search of the databases PubMed and Cochrane for published studies (from year 2000 to year 2019) was conducted to identify articles that met inclusion criteria. Bibliographies of identified articles were also searched for relevant articles. Results Of the 11 studies that met our inclusion criteria, most were mainly cross-sectional in design with few rigorous controls. Findings reveal that strategies to enhance nutrition patterns among female athletes may be important to avoid risks of disordered eating, eating disorders, low energy availability, and symptoms of relative energy deficiency in sports. In addition, general nutrition knowledge is lacking among athletes, sports teams, and coaches. Conclusions This review highlights the scarcity of evidence-based, rigorous studies examining nutritional risks among female athletes. Findings suggest that interdisciplinary working groups, comprising physicians, sports dietitians, and other supportive health professionals, would be beneficial for female athletes in helping to improve their overall diet, performance, and health.OBJECTIVE We demonstrate that the diagram of work organization possibilities, a recent addition to cognitive work analysis, can be used to develop designs that promote adaptation in the workplace. BACKGROUND Workers in sociotechnical systems adapt not just their individual behaviors but also their collective structures in dealing with instability, uncertainty, and unpredictability in their tasks. However, conventional design approaches are limited in supporting adaptations in both workers' behaviors and structures, especially during unforeseen situations. The work organization possibilities diagram has the potential to meet these requirements, but its value for design has not been established. METHOD We present a case study of a future system for maritime surveillance that provides an analytical demonstration of the utility of the diagram for design and empirical validation of the impact, uniqueness, and feasibility of this approach in an industrial setting. RESULTS This application results in a team design that is integrated with the career and training progression pathway of the crew in a way that maximizes the system's behavioral and structural possibilities for adaptation. Further, the approach has impact on practice, makes a distinct contribution to design relative to other techniques, and is implemented feasibly in an industrial setting. CONCLUSION The work organization possibilities diagram can contribute to the development of an integrated system design that supports actors' possibilities for behavioral and structural adaptation in a unified fashion. APPLICATION This research provides a basis for designing interfaces, teams, training, and automation that preserve a system's inherent capacity for adaptation.Seasonal influenza continues to be a major cause of illness and death. Vaccination is the most cost-effective prophylaxis to prevent the disease and it is particularly important for people who are at high risk of serious complications derived from influenza, especially for people ≥65 years. In Italy, the influenza vaccination program has been unsuccessful with low rates of uptake in people ≥65 years. We analyzed all the community ≥65 years of the Health Promoting Agency (HPA) of Brescia (northern Italy) to evaluate the propensity attitudes toward influenza vaccination among people ≥65 years in four consecutive seasonal influenza campaigns (from 2014/2015 to 2017/2018). Information about subjects were retrieved from administrative databases. Data from 952,822 records were analyzed. The prevalence of vaccinated subjects in the four campaigns was 38.6%, 33.7%, 37.7%, and 40.1%, respectively. Among vaccinated people, the frequencies of individuals aged 65-69.9 years were lower than the frequencies of those in the other age classes, with highest frequencies of vaccinated people in the 75-79.9 years age-class. Overall, males showed a slightly higher propensity to be vaccinated and the propensity toward vaccination increased with age in both genders. Suffering from a chronic disease increased the propensity to vaccination; hypertension had the highest impact on the propensity whereas suffering from vasculopathy has the opposite effect. The value of this study is the possibility to know the factors that might indicate a propensity to get an influenza vaccination and to consider a different approach to people ≥65 years with the characteristics indicating a lower propensity to vaccination. The adverse effects of sleep disorders on male fertility are of increased concern. In this study, a rat model of chronic sleep restriction (CSR) was established using the modified multiplatform method. The effects of CSR on the fertility of male rats were evaluated first based on sexual behavior. Serum hormones, including testosterone (T), prolactin (PRL), luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and sperm parameters (concentration, viability, motility, deformation rate) were measured, and testicular histology was analysed by hematoxylin and eosin staining. The transcriptional differences between CSR rats and control rats were detected by RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq), and DNA methylation was then detected by bisulfite sequencing. HPPE datasheet After the differentialy expressed genes of CSR rats were sequenced and screened, representative up- and down-regulated genes were randomly sampled to verify the sequencing results by real-time quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR).
