To aid the wider implementation of the CRI approach, a user-friendly and interactive web application, named InCaRisk, was created to facilitate the cancer risk estimation following inhalation exposure. Our approach could be useful for enhancing the quality of regulatory decisions and protecting human health from environmental pollutants; our approach can be applied for a given health outcome, route of exposure and exposure setting. With the increase of the global population and the improvement of people's living standards, the output of garbage generated by human activities is also increasing day by day. Choosing an appropriate garbage disposal site is one of the key links for the harmless disposal of garbage. However, due to the uncertainty and complexity of socio-economic development and the limited cognitive ability of decision-makers, how to rationally select the garbage disposal site has become a challenging task. This study drew a new multi-attribute decision-making method based on interval q-rung orthopair fuzzy weighted power Muirhead mean (Iq-ROFPWMM) operator to evaluate site selection scheme of garbage disposal plant, and support for garbage disposal site selection. In this method, firstly, power average and Muirhead mean operators are integrated and introduced into the interval q-rung orthopair fuzzy environment to construct an Iq-ROFPWMM operator. Meanwhile, some properties of idempotence, boundedness and monotonicity for the Iq-ROFPWMM operator are analyzed. Then, a multi-attribute decision-making method using Iq-ROFPWMM operator is established. After that, a practical case on the evaluation of garbage disposal site selection scheme is given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. Further, parameter analysis and comparative analysis are applied to demonstrate the superiority of our method. The results show that this method boasts wider space for evaluation information representation, more flexible adaptation to the environment evaluation, and stronger robustness of the evaluation results. Finally, some conclusions of this study are drawn and the development direction is revealed.Prostaglandins (PGs) mediate physiological processes of insects as well as mammals. Prostaglandin I2 (PGI2) is a relatively well-known eicosanoid with potent hormone-like actions on various tissues of vertebrates, however, its presence and biosynthetic pathway have not been described in insects. This study demonstrated that fat bodies of the lepidopteran species, Spodoptera exigua, contained ~ 3.6 pg/g PGI2. To identify its biosynthetic pathway, a PGI2 synthase gene of S. exigua (Se-PGIS) was predicted from a transcriptome of S. exigua; 25.6% homology with human PGIS was demonstrated. Furthermore, a predicted three-dimensional structure of Se-PGIS was demonstrated to be 38.3% similar to the human PGIS ortholog, including catalytic residues. Se-PGIS was expressed in all developmental stages of S. exigua and most abundant larval and adult stages; immune challenging of larvae significantly up-regulated these expression levels. The inducible expression of Se-PGIS expression was followed by a greater than four-folregulator of immune responses initiated by other factors and mediates S. exigua development and reproduction.Irisin, encoded by fibronectin type III domain-containing protein 5 (FNDC5) gene, plays a role in energy expenditure and insulin sensitivity in mice. In fish, the function of irisin related to glucose metabolism is less reported. It may increase glucose utilization in fish. The aim of the present study was to characterize the regulatory role of irisin in glucose metabolism in common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.). In this study, FNDC5a and FNDC5b were isolated from common carp. The cDNA of FNDC5a and FNDC5b were 722 bp and 714 bp, encoding 221 and 207 amino acids, respectively. FNDC5a was abundantly expressed in the brain and gonad. FNDC5b was mainly expressed in brain. Different expression pattern of FNDC5a and FNDC5b under fasting/refeeding and OGTT experiment were identified. The recombinant common carp irisinA and irisinB were prepared by prokaryotic expression system. Glucose concentration was decreased in treatment with irisinA or irisinB in the in vitro and in vivo experiments. The mRNA expression levels of gluconeogenesis-related genes were significantly down-regulated, while the mRNA expression of glycolysis-related genes were significantly up-regulated after treatment with recombinant irisinA or irisinB in liver in vivo and in primary hepatocytes in vitro. Our research shows that irisin inhibits hepatic gluconeogenesis and promotes hepatic glycolysis. Taken together, this study for the first time revealed the two subtypes of FNDC5 and explored the function and mechanisms of irisinA and irisinB in fish glucose homeostasis.Endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) are endocrine-active chemical pollutants that disrupt reproductive, neuroendocrine, cardiovascular and metabolic health across species. The circadian clock is a transcriptional oscillator responsible for entraining 24-hour rhythms of physiology, behavior and metabolism. Extensive bidirectional cross talk exists between circadian and endocrine systems and circadian rhythmicity is present at all levels of endocrine control, from synthesis and release of hormones, to sensitivity of target tissues to hormone action. In mammals, a range of hormones directly alter clock gene expression and circadian physiology via nuclear receptor (NR) binding and subsequent genomic action, modulating physiological processes such as nutrient and energy metabolism, stress response, reproductive physiology and circadian behavioral rhythms. The potential for EDCs to perturb circadian clocks or circadian-driven physiology is not well characterized. For this reason, we explore evidence for parallel endocrine and circadian disruption following EDC exposure across species. In the reviewed studies, EDCs dysregulated core clock and circadian rhythm network gene expression in brain and peripheral organs, and altered circadian reproductive, behavioral and metabolic rhythms. selleck chemicals Circadian impacts occurred in parallel to endocrine and metabolic alterations such as impaired fertility and dysregulated metabolic and energetic homeostasis. Further research is warranted to understand the nature of interaction between circadian and endocrine systems in mediating physiological effects of EDC exposure at environmental levels.
