Unusual metastatic sites of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) are not infrequent. We report a rare case of solitary pharyngeal metastasis as first presentation of RCC.

A 74 years-old man was referred to our hospital due to rapidly progressive dyspnoea and dysphagia. Physical examination showed a large right para-pharyngeal mass. Imaging findings showed a 5.5 cm mass, suspicious for malignancy, which extended to right para and retro-pharyngeal spaces with compression of the major right cervical vessels, C2-C3 vertebral bodies osteolysis, dural sac compression and dislocation. Futhermore, a small (2.6 × 2 cm) mass located at the upper pole of the right kidney was shown. Patient underwent partial trans-oral removal of the mass. Pathological examination and immunochemistry resulting strongly suggestive for metastatic RCC. Considering the metastatic stage of the tumour and the rapidly progressive clinical worsening with poor performance status, we offered the patient a palliative treatment with tyrosine kinase and cy compared with metachronous metastasis RCC is associated with adverse effect on outcome and response to targeted treatment.

The aim of our study was to assess the prevalence of renal masses suspected of malignancy and adrenal incidentalomas in patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm based on the computed tomography angiography (CTA).

In the retrospective cross-sectional study, the CTA scans of patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms and thoraco-abdominal aortic aneurysms type II-IV were assessed. Patients with thoraco-abdominal aortic aneurysms type I and V and history of abdominal aortic surgery were excluded from the study.

Study group comprised 937 patients with a median age of 73.0 years, 83.8% of whom were male. CTA revealed renal tumors in 11 patients (1.2% of the study population) with a median size of 26 mm (interquartile range 20-50). see more Adrenal incidentalomas were found in 61 patients (6.5% of the study population). In 20 patients (2.1%) adrenal lesions were found bilaterally.

In the described cohort, the renal and adrenal tumors were relatively common findings among patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm and thoraco-abdominal aortic aneurysms type II-IV. Both anaesthesiologists and surgeons should be vigilant about the possibility of such coexistence in order to provide the patients with the best possible perioperative care and an optimal surgical modality.

Lateral discoid meniscus (LDM) should be treated and preserved with saucerization and/or suture repair. However, repair of the meniscal hoop structure is sometimes difficult due to displacement or large defects. In this study, we aimed to examine tear patterns based on the Ahn classification in those requiring meniscal repair and those undergoing subtotal meniscectomy.

Twenty-three patients were evaluated (mean age, 27.4 years; mean follow-up period, 2.5 years). The following were evaluated displacement morphology based on the Ahn classification, site of tear under arthroscopy, morphology, surgical procedure, Lysholm score at final postoperative follow-up, and clinical outcome of meniscus using Barrett's criteria.

There were 16 knees without displacement (saucerization with suture repair, 13 knees; subtotal meniscectomy, 3 knees) and 10 knees with displacement (reduction with suture repair, 3 knees; subtotal meniscectomy, 7 knees). Subtotal meniscectomy was performed more often in cases with dislocation, especially in the central shift type as defined by the Ahn classification. The mean Lysholm score was 65.0 points preoperatively and 95.3 points postoperatively. Twenty-three knees (88%) were postoperatively categorized under the Barrett's criteria as healing and 3 knees (12%) were categorized as non-healing. The number of non-healing cases that underwent subtotal meniscectomy was relatively small (1 of 10 knees), and the short-term results were not poor.

In our study, we have chosen the facial skin temperature as a biomarker to measure emotions. To assess the facial skin temperature, the thermal imaging modality has been used in this study, since it has been recognised as a promising technique to evaluate emotional responses. The aim of this study was the following (1) to compare the facial skin temperature of autistic and non-autistic children by using thermal imaging across various emotions; (2) to classify the thermal images obtained from the study using the customised convolutional neural network compared with the ResNet 50 network. Fifty autistic and fifty non-autistic participants were included for the study. Thermal imaging was used to obtain the temperature of specific facial regions such as the eyes, cheek, forehead and nose while we evoked emotions (Happiness, anger and sadness) in children using an audio-visual stimulus. Among the emotions considered, the emotion anger had the highest temperature difference between the autistic and non-autistic participants in the region's eyes (1.9%), cheek (2.38%) and nose (12.6%). The accuracy obtained by classifying the thermal images of the autistic and non-autistic children using Customised Neural Network and ResNet 50 Network was 96% and 90% respectively. This computer aided diagnostic tool can be a predictable and a steadfast method in the diagnosis of the autistic individuals.
