Replacement UPVC Door Handles

If you're replacing your handles or need to add extra security, you'll find the right handle for your door. These upvc handles are easy to install and conform to the required 92mm centres of multipoint locks.

The backplate's fixing centre as well as the keyhole/lever dimensions are the most important measurements. Make sure you compare these to your current measurements prior to ordering.

Lever/Pad

Lever pad door handles are made up of the lever handle on one side and a paddle-shaped handle on the other. They are intended for use with key wind locks. However they can be affixed to multipoint split spindle door locks.

Our selection of upvc handle lever pads are available in a wide variety of finishes and these will be displayed in the drop down list after you have identified the correct handle for your door. Not all styles of handles are available in every finish though and you should always look over the technical drawings and sizes sections for the specific product you're looking for to ensure that you get the right size and fit.

It is important to ensure that when you choose a new set of Upvc lever pad handles, they match the PZ (distance from the handle spindle to the centre of the hole of the cylinder) of your multipoint door locks. This is because these need to be aligned in order for the doors to stay locked, whether you are viewing them from the inside or outside. Our handles are designed to fit most standard cylinders, but it is a good idea to double-check prior to purchasing.

If you want to upgrade to dual spindle levers, you'll need to remove the existing handles and take apart the lock case. This will require an additional split cylinder inline. You can purchase these separately. We have included a technical diagram in the images of each product.

Once you have removed the screws holding the door handle you have, it is a good idea to loosen them and examine the mechanism to see how it's performing. If the screws aren't tight enough it is possible to loosen them further. After that, you can take the spindle from the door handle and replace it with a new upvc handle. Before you screw the handle into the frame, it is recommended to check that it is in the proper position. You can do this by inserting your finger in the space between the door frame and the handle to make sure it is level.

Lever/Lever

Lever door handles are a multi point lock using an Euro cylinder. They can be found on most upvc double doors, aluminium doors and a few wooden doors. They come in two varieties, with an interior lever and a paddle on the outside. Sprung - These include a spring cassette inside the backplate to bring the handle lever to an upright position. Non-sprung: These do NOT include a mechanism that can spring the handle lever to a horizontal angle.

To fix a sagging door handle lever you'll need to locate the hole or pin that is the detent access point. It's typically small, protruding ring, or rectangle, located on the handle base plate. Once you've located it, you can loosen the set screw using the help of a screwdriver, and then take it off to allow the lever to return to its horizontal position.

After the handle is set horizontally, it is possible to put back the screws. Close them to ensure that the handle is securely attached to the base plate. It is also advisable to apply a threadlocking adhesive to the screw threads to increase the grip and stop them from loosening over time.

Drooping lever door handles can be caused by various causes. The most common reason is that the fixings have been over tightened, and are putting pressure on the bearings that are causing it to bind against the door's surface. It is also possible that the levers have not been operated at the correct angle, which compresses the latch mechanism and prevents it from fully springing into operation.

The most common reason for a sprung lever not working properly is the spring not being in the right position on the backplate. The easiest way to test this is to move the handle and see if it returns to the horizontal position.

bifold door handle replacement is important to fix any door handles that are damaged immediately. This could cause excessive wear on the screws, and the handle could fall off the base plate. It is also recommended to tighten any loose screws on a regular basis to prevent them from becoming looser.

Lever/Snib

These upvc handles are called 'Snib handle sets' and come with a snib lock button at the top of the lever. If you don't have a dummy lock device, you can use this to lock the door. These handles come with a Fullex lock 68PZ. (68mm between spindle and the lock centre). We also stock a variety of other door handles with 68PZ from manufacturers such as Ferco and Fab & Fix.

This can be caused by a number of things however the most frequent is a lack of lubrication in the latch plate. This can be corrected quickly by opening the door and spraying lubricant over the handle and lock. It could also be that the latch plate is separated from the backplate. This can be a bit more of a problem and will require a specialist to repair.

This is the distance from the edge of the inner frame of the door to the central point of the handle hole in millimetres. You should also be aware of whether your door has hook-style locks or a mortise-style lock. Once you have these measurements, the easiest way to find the correct handles is to search by brand on the website.
