Planar defects are prone to nucleate at the surface and develop in a zigzag form at 400 °C, while treating at 500 °C promotes the growth of 200-type stacking faults. Our work clearly establishes that the atomic configuration of the defects in WO3-x samples could be manipulated by regulating the hydrogenation temperature. This study not only expands our understanding of the structure-function relationships of sub-stoichiometric tungsten oxides but also unlocks their full potential as advanced catalysts by tuning stoichiometry in a controlled manner.

Over the past twodecades, Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) has been a pragmatic strategy towards universal Primary Health Care (PHC) in Ghana. However, the ability and capacity of these facilities to deliver quality primary health care remain an illusion as they are still crumbling in myriad challenges. These challenges are translated to the poor-quality services provision and low community utilization of CHPS facilities. The study presents a comparative analysis of three communities in the Kassena-Nankana East Municipality, Ghana.

Using a mixed-method research design, the study gathered and analysed data from 110 households, three community health officers (CHOs) and three community leaders using semi-structured questionnaires and interview guides.

The findings indicated that the facilities do not have the requisite inputs such as drugs and supplies, logistics, appropriate health personnel, good infrastructure, funding support necessary to deliver quality and appropriate healthcare salth care strategies include a keen assessment of community health needs and institutional management of primary health care facilities, equip PHC facilities with adequate resources such as drugs and appropriate staffing to provide the health needs of the communities.

The fight against this new highly virulent beta coronavirus appears one of the most strenuous and long challenges that humanity has ever faced, since a definitive treatment has not been identified so far. We aimed to determine if four germline genetic polymorphisms, rs429358 in apolipoprotein E (APOE), rs2642438 in mitochondrial amidoxime reducing component 1 (MARC1), rs2792751 in glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase (GPAM), and rs187429064 in transmembrane 6 superfamily member 2 (TM6SF2), previously associated with progressive alcohol-related and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, are also associated with HCC. Four HCC case-control data sets were constructed, including two mixed etiology data sets (UK Biobank and FinnGen); one hepatitis C virus (HCV) cohort (STOP-HCV), and one alcohol-related HCC cohort (Dresden HCC). The frequency of each variant was compared between HCC cases and cirrhosis controls (i.e., patients with cirrhosis without HCC). Population controls were also considered. Odds ratios (ORs) associations were calculated using logistic regression, adjusting for age, sex, and principal components of genetic ancestry. Fixed-effect meta-analysis was used to determine the pooled effect size across all data sets. Across four case-control data sets, 2,070 HCC cases, 4,121 cirrhosis controls, and 525,779 population controls were included. The rs429358C allele (APOE) was significantly less frequent in HCC cases versus cirrhosis controls (OR, 0.71; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.61-0.84; P = 2.9 × 10-5 ). Rs187429064G (TM6SF2) was significantly more common in HCC cases versus cirrhosis controls and exhibited the strongest effect size (OR, 2.03; 95% CI, 1.45-2.86; P = 3.1 × 10-6 ). In contrast, rs2792751T (GPAM) was not associated with HCC (OR, 1.01; 95% CI, 0.90-1.13; P = 0.89), whereas rs2642438A (MARC1) narrowly missed statistical significance (OR, 0.91; 95% CI, 0.84-1.00; P = 0.043). Conclusion This study associates carriage of rs429358C (APOE) with a reduced risk of HCC in patients with cirrhosis. Conversely, carriage of rs187429064G in TM6SF2 is associated with an increased risk of HCC in patients with cirrhosis.

A questionnaire was used to analyze general information regarding a patient's experience of the coronavirus pandemic and, using the Inventory of Life-Changing Events, the resulting personal burden. To analyze possible associations between disease severity (EASI score, oSCORAD, IGA, PGA, POEM), quality of life (DLQI) and personal burden, t-tests, analyses of variance and correlations were evaluated, controlled for sex and age.

58% (n=233) of the included 400 registry patients reported high burden scores caused by the coronavirus pandemic, regardless of an actual infection. Men showed significantly higher burden scores than women, and younger than older respondents (both P=0.03). There were no differences in burden scores related to the physician's assessment of disease severity. However, patients with higher quality of life impairments and higher disease severity perceived the burden of the coronavirus pandemic as less severe (DLQI P=0.019, PGA P=0.044).

Our data show that registry patients considered the coronavirus pandemic as a life-changing event and perceived the burden differently. This should be taken into account in the treatment of patients with moderate to severe AD as well as in further studies.
