World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also increase bonuses such as PvE damage and crit chance.

For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will suffer an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the item's current level. The cost increases as the item level increases.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into weapons, armor, and trinkets to provide an additional stat boost or effect while they're in use. They can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to devices that have slots. The item must be at least upgraded to blue level before the component can be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and can't be used multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment, as well as some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it is used on (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with fewer Upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop or obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear, even when they're not sure what will be improved following the reset.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a high risk that the item may become obsolete or even break if it fails; a failure to upgrade can destroy Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also offer a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs boost the effectiveness of all nodes in their radius as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible up to 15 levels.

In the final game you'll find that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15, and they provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes faster.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt with the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values it can improve a statistic by, and the value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools and also through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that can boost a particular set of stat nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

The use of Glyphs Glyph will boost all nodes that are linked to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximize the impact. For example, a Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes, however, you may also want to think about placing them near crucial damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The upgrade system of items allows players to boost the stats of specific items by adding upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded until they reach a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires a different number of components and the cost of upgrading increase as the item gets upgraded.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When an individual player upgrade the equipment they have the original item will be replaced by an item that is new. The same armor can be transformed into a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item will also come with a bonus of its own. This could be a drawback in that the item could increase in price even if you don't need it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens to do so. This causes the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will have a level 1 base and a completely different set of bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, however it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it could waste many resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and giving players the ability to alter their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants a buff if the player repeatedly enters or exits water. This item can be upgraded many times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is very valuable in PvP. A well-rolled version can be worth 50 times the value of the non-upgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The item upgrader lets players increase the level of their equippable equipment (armor weapons, armor trinkets, and weapons) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense and weapon upgrades items increase their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear that can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting back to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more money on materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in the bar for growth will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained, such as chances to be crit damage to attack, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or reloading speed). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it receives a crit chance boost that it will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. Slots is a brand new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its base value. For item upgrading that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items may require different upgrades than standard gear. For instance they might require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. However, players must visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of the ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the cost mentioned above.
