The surgical approach in excising lipoma in SVC should be considered wisely with the support of adequate preoperative diagnosis. Since lipoma is a very slow-growing tumour, extensive manipulation that could increase surgical technique difficulty or postoperative morbidity and mortality is not necessary.

Honey has been recorded as having healing properties at a low cost. Many studies have been conducted related to Manuka honey, but studies about Indonesian randu honey are still limited. We report the use of Indonesian randu honey as a wound dressing on non-pressure chronic skin ulcers in uncontrolled T2DM patient.

A 54-year-old man with uncontrolled T2DM came with an unrecovered wound. A thorough inspection revealed several exposed bones, tendons, muscles, and meniscus in the left lower leg region. It was supposed to be amputated, but he declined. He received insulin, debridement, STSG, and a combination of Indonesian randu honey dressing and VAC on the exposed wound before and after the debridement and STSG. There was skin graft lysis, and we intended to do another surgery, but he preferred to be an outpatient. As an outpatient, he received honey wound dressing and insulin. After 1.5years, the wound was fully closed, and he could walk with the help of a walking stick.

Treatment for multiple exposed bones, tendons, and muscles in uncontrolled T2DM patient are complex. Studies reported that Indonesian honey could provide an antibacterial effect, cost-efficiency, speed up wound healing with no side effects, and no physical-chemical properties differences compared to Manuka honey.

Using Indonesian randu honey as wound dressing could stimulate wound healing with no side effects in chronic wounds with uncontrolled T2DM that were supposed to be amputated. However, it took several months for the wound to fully close.

Benckiser's hemorrhage is a serious obstetric emergency caused by rupture of one or more umbilical vessels of velamentous insertion, putting the fetus in distress and leading to rapid fetal death through exsanguination in utero. It is an uncommon condition associated with a neonatal mortality rate of 75-100%. This hemorrhage of fetal origin happens most often when the membranes rupture, whether spontaneously or artificially. This is why prenatal diagnosis via ultrasound can only be beneficial and make it possible to schedule a prophylactic caesarean section before the onset of fetal death as well as other adverse perinatal outcomes.

We hereby present an uncommon case of a 27-year-old female patient, with no antenatal check-ups, who presented to the emergency department for labor-like pain at a gestational age of 32weeks. On examination, blood pressure was 140/89mmhg. Shortly after her hospitalization, the patient was experiencing steady vaginal bleeding as well as spontaneous rupture of the membranes. Rete of membranes and fetal exsanguination, while taking into consideration the impact of iatrogenic prematurity.

Calcific myonecrosis (CM) is a rare, benign post-traumatic sequela which is often challenging to differentiate from soft tissue tumors. Infected CM is recalcitrant and sometimes requires invasive treatment despite its benign nature. We present a case of infected CM in which MRI and

Tl scintigraphy proved useful for diagnosis and intralesional debridement with prolonged placement of a suction tube allowed for successful treatment.

A 71-year-old man had undergone repeated aspiration for swelling of the lower leg and presented with a sustained pyogenic discharging wound. He underwent intralesional debridement of purulent necrotic tissue followed by prolonged suction tube placement. Enterobacter cloacae was detected in the discharge, and specific antibiotics were administered. Once the wound closed, a new sinus recurred four months after surgery, warranting reoperation with debridement of the remnant fascia and necrotic tissue with suction tube replacement. The wound healed eight months after the first surgery with no signs of recurrence.

CM can be diagnosed based on its unique imaging features and a history of compartment syndrome. To avoid infection, CM must be treated conservatively without surgical invasions, such as biopsy or aspiration. Extensive debridement with a myocutaneous flap is nevertheless recommended for infected CM treatment, despite significant invasion including intraoperative bleeding being problematic.

MRI and

Tl scintigraphy can help diagnose CM and avoid biopsy to exclude malignancy. Intralesional debridement of necrotic tissue with prolonged suction tube placement could be a valid treatment alternative to reduce the invasiveness of infected CM.

The effects of sodium bicarbonate were analyzed in fresh and frozen semen in respect to sperm viability, capacitation, spontaneous acrosome reaction and several kinetic parameters such as total motility, progressive motility, VCL, VSL, ALH, BCF, LIN. Moreover, employing Bayk-6844 and Nifedipine, the involvement of L-type voltage-gated calcium channels in the modulation of intracellular calcium concentrations was investigated. Results evidenced an immediate effect of sodium bicarbonate in reducing fresh sperm viability and in increasing capacitation and spontaneous acrosome reaction of fresh and frozen spermatozoa. Furthermore, it affected total and progressive motility of fresh and frozen semen. Because of the sudden effects of the compound, we think that a buffer lacking sodium bicarbonate is more suitable to preserve the viability and the functional state of equine spermatozoa required to undergo at the right time those modifications necessary for fertilization. We also demonstrated that intracellular calcium modifications induced by Bayk-8644 and Nifedipine are not involved in signals related to vitality, capacitation, spontaneous acrosome reaction and motility.Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is an n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) that improves fertility by increasing membrane fluidity. Moreover, embryos produced by donor females supplied with n-3 PUFA did not show any difference in terms of the lipid profile after 7 days of culture. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of DHA (20 and 100 μM) coupled with carnosine (5 mg/mL), an antioxidant, during oocyte maturation and embryo development on the developmental and cryosurvival rates and the number of pluripotent cells. Free fatty acid receptor-4 (FFAR4), which is able to bind DHA, was visualised by immunostaining. The addition of DHA in the in vitro development (IVD) medium decreased the percentage of pluripotent SOX2 positive cells compared with the control (8.4% vs. 10.9%) without affecting the number of cells (196.7 vs. 191.6 cells) or the developmental (20.9% vs. 23.9% blastocysts rate on D7) and cryosurvival rates (86.3% vs 86.2%). Such a decrease in pluripotent cells, relevant to the differentiation of the first lineage within the inner cell mass, represents an improvement in the embryo quality. On the contrary, embryos without any pluripotent SOX2-positive cells would not be able to achieve gestation. Future studies should follow up these results by carrying out embryo transfers to assess the beneficial effects of DHA supplementation.A psychophysical experiment was conducted to investigate preferred skin tones of 4 skin types under 5 illuminants varying in correlated colour temperatures. The experiments were performed on calibrated mobile display devices. Four facial skin tone images representing each skin type were captured and were rendered to 25 skin tone images to cover a large colour region. The facial skin tone images were assessed by a panel of 28 Chinese observers using an alternative forced choice psychophysical method. The ellipses based on observer preference rate were derived, and the preferred skin tone centres and 50% tolerance ellipse of different skin types under each test illuminants were obtained. According to the colour appearance shift of preferred skin tones under illuminants with varying CCTs, all data were transformed and compared in the a*b* plane under D65 and CIE 1931 Standard Colorimetric Observer condition. The results on the impact of illuminants on preferred skin tones were reported here. All types of skin tones had a good agreement under different illuminants.Extensive growth of industries leads to uncontrolled ammonia releases to environment. This can result in significant degradation of the aquatic ecology as well as significant health concerns for humans. Knowing the mechanism of ammonia elimination is the simplest approach to comprehending it. Ammonia has been commonly converted to less hazardous substances either in the form of nitrate or nitrogen gas. Tetrahydropiperine mouse Ammonia has been converted into nitrite by ammonia-oxidizing bacteria and further reduced to nitrate by nitrite-oxidizing bacteria in aerobic conditions. Denitrification takes place in an anoxic phase and nitrate is converted into nitrogen gas. It is challenging to remove ammonia by employing technologies that do not incur particularly high costs. Thus, this review paper is focused on biofilm reactors that utilize the nitrification process. Many research publications and patents on biofilm wastewater treatment have been published. However, only a tiny percentage of these projects are for full-scale applications, and the majority of the work was completed within the last few decades. The physicochemical approaches such as ammonia adsorption, coagulation-flocculation, and membrane separation, as well as conventional biological treatments including activated sludge, microalgae, and bacteria biofilm, are briefly addressed in this review paper. The effectiveness of biofilm reactors in removing ammonia was compared, and the microbes that effectively remove ammonia were thoroughly discussed. Overall, biofilm reactors can remove up to 99.7% ammonia from streams with a concentration in range of 16-900 mg/L. As many challenges were identified for ammonia removal using biofilm at a commercial scale, this study offers future perspectives on how to address the most pressing biofilm issues. This review may also improve our understanding of biofilm technologies for the removal of ammonia as well as polishing unit in wastewater treatment plants for the water reuse and recycling, supporting the circular economy concept. The esophagus is a tubular organ which act as a passage for food from oral cavity to stomach. Telocytes (TCs) are a unique type of interstitial cell whose existence in many organs of various species still remains unknown. In the present study, we used transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and immunohistochemistry (CD34, Vimentin, PDGFR-α) to identify subepithelial TCs in the esophageal wall of chickens. TEM micrographs confirmed the presence of TCs in the lamina propria, tunica submucosa, and tunica muscularis muscular layer of the esophageal wall. A large population of TCs were observed just beneath the epithelial layer of the esophageal wall, and the TCs demonstrated structural heterogenicity, featuring various cell body shapes of cell bodies and telopodes (Tps) with podoms, podomeres, and dichotomous branching. Furthermore, a large number of extracellular vesicles were found to be associated with TCs/Tps. Cellular extensions from TCs were observed in close proximity to blood vessels, immune cells, and mucosal glands.
