This was a prospective randomized controlled trial involving 68 AATR patients undergoing minimally invasive surgery. 34 patients were enrolled in early weight‑bearing mobilization accelerated rehabilitation group (AR group); 34 patients were enrolled in the traditional rehabilitation (TR) group. Outcomes measures included American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society Score (AOFAS) score and Achilles Tendon Total Rupture Score (ATRS) score before surgery and 3, 6, and 12months after surgery, incidence rate of Achilles tendon re-rupture and total complications, length of hospital stay, time return to work and sports.

There was no significant difference in preoperative basic data between the two groups. However, AOFAS score and ATRS score were better in AR group than TR group at 3months postoperatively (92.4 ± 3.5 vs 88.3 ± 4.5, P < 0.01; 91.1 ± 4.4 vs 88.9 ± 3.4, P = 0.03, respectively), the mean length of hospital stay (4.7 ± 1.5 vs 7.6 ± 2.0days, P < 0.01) and time return to work (4.5 ± 1.0 vs 7.5 ± 1.6weeks, P < 0.01) were shorter in AR group than in TR group. No statistical significance was calculated in patient-reported outcomes during the rest of the follow-up time and complications.

The anteroposterior (ap) radiograph of the pelvis is decisive in the diagnosis of different pathologies of the hip joint. Technical advantages have reduced the radiation dose of pelvic CT to levels comparable to radiographs. The purpose of this study was to validate if standard radiographic parameters (lateral center edge angle, medial center edge angle, acetabular index, acetabular arc, extrusion index, crossover sign and posterior wall sign) can accurately be determined on radiograph-like projections reconstructed from the CT dataset pre- and postoperatively.

A consecutive series of patient with symptomatic dysplasia of the hip and a full radiologic workup (radiographs and CT scan pre- and postoperatively) who underwent periacetabular osteotomy were included. Standard radiographic parameters were compared between radiographs and radiograph-like projections by two authors pre- and postoperatively.

To evaluate the feasibility and clinical effect of Krackow suturing combined with the suture bridge technique for the treatment of acute inferior pole patella fracture.

In this study, 18 patients with acute inferior pole patella fracture who received treatment using Krackow suturing combined with the suture bridge technique between January 2019 and March 2020 were retrospectively reviewed. There were 10 men and 8 women, with an average age of 50.1years (range 24-69years). X-ray examinations were performed to assess fracture healing and the Insall-Salvati index. The clinical effect was measured by the range of motion of the knee joint and the Böstman scale.

Patients were followed up for 13-26months, with an average follow-up period of 19.6months. X-ray indicated that fracture union had occurred in all patients by 10.1weeks after surgery on average (range 8-14weeks). The mean Insall-Salvati index immediately after surgery and at the final follow-up was 0.98 ± 0.07 and 0.90 ± 0.22, respectively (P > 0.05). At the last follow-up, the mean flexion and extension ranges for the knee joint were 135.8° ± 8.8° and -2.8° ± 3.9°, respectively, and the mean Böstman scale was 28.9 ± 1.1 points. Functional recovery was excellent in 17 patients and good in one patient, resulting in an overall good/excellent recovery rate of 100%.

Despite the existence of diverse total knee implant designs, few data is available on the relationship between the level of implant constraint and the postoperative joint stability in the frontal plane and strain in the collateral ligaments. The current study aimed to document this relation in an ex vivo setting.

Six fresh-frozen lower limbs underwent imaging for preparation of specimen-specific surgical guides. Specimens were dissected and assessed for joint laxity using the varus-valgus stress tests at fixed knee flexion angles. A handheld dynamometer applied tensile loads at the ankle, thereby resulting in a knee abduction-adduction moment of 10Nm. Tibiofemoral kinematics were calculated using an optical motion capture system, while extensometers attached to medial collateral (MCL) and lateral collateral ligament (LCL) measured strain. V.Rationale In chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) are associated with pneumonia, highlighting the importance of investigating subgroups of patients who may benefit from prolonged ICS use. Despite this, the WISDOM (Withdrawal of Inhaled Steroids during Optimized Bronchodilator Management) trial found a greater decline in forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) in patients with COPD who withdrew from ICS compared with patients who remained on triple therapy. Objectives We investigated the association between ICS withdrawal and the rate of FEV1 decline in patients with COPD using routinely collected electronic healthcare records. Methods Using CPRD (Clinical Practice Research Datalink) Aurum and Hospital episode statistics, we included patients with COPD who had been on triple therapy for at least 4 months. Patients were categorized into those who withdrew from ICS and those who remained on triple therapy during follow-up. Three cohorts were created 1) patients meeting in the last population representing those who would have been excluded from the WISDOM trial because of their comorbidities. The mean rate of FEV1 decline was -29.4 ml/year (95% CI, -30 to -28.1) in withdrawers and -31.3 ml/year (95% CI, -35 to -27.5) in those who remained on triple therapy. Conclusions The rate of FEV1 decline was similar between patients on triple therapy and patients who withdrew from ICS regardless of the specific COPD population studied. In routine clinical practice, few patients with COPD meet WISDOM eligibility criteria, and few patients are withdrawn from ICS.

One thousand, two hundred twenty-six questionnaire invitations were emailed to North American physician members of the Society for Pediatric Radiology using the Survey Monkey platform. Descriptive statistical analysis of the responses was performed.

The final results represented 59 institutions from 26U.S. states, the District of Columbia and three Canadian provinces. Discrepant responses from institutions with multiple respondents (13 out of 59 institutions) were prevalent in multiple categories. Of the 80 total respondents, slightly more than half (56%) were associated with children's hospitals and 44% with the pediatric division of an adult radiology department. Most radiologists (70%) were cognizant of the neonatational level and the societal level. Awareness of the potential for anesthetic neurotoxicity and success of non-pharmacologic approaches to neonatal imaging is crucial, along with education of health care personnel, systematic approaches to quality control and improvement, and integration of evidence-based protocols into clinical practice.

However, limited by the low-abundance mRNA in live cells, most strategies of survivin mRNA detection that were one-to-one signal-triggered model (one target triggered one signal) were inapplicable in practice. Here, we reported a binding-induced DNAzyme motor triggered by the survivin mRNA, which was a one-to-more signal-triggered model (one target triggered more signals), amplifying the detection signal and enhancing the sensitivity. The nanomotor is constructed by assembling several DNAzyme motor strands silenced by the blocker strands, and dozens of FAM-labeled substrate strands on a single gold nanoparticle (AuNP), forming three-dimensional DNA tracks. Through building the survivin mRNA bridge between the blocker and the DNAzyme motor strand, the binding-induced DNA nanomotor could be triggered by survivin mRNA. The operation of the DNAzyme motor was self-powered. And each walking step of the DNAzyme motor was fueled by DNAzyme-catalyzed substrate cleavage, along with the cleavage of the fluorescent molecule, resulting in autonomous and progressive walking along the AuNP-based tracks, and the fluorescence increase. The DNAzyme motor exhibited excellent sensitivity and remarkable specificity for survivin mRNA, providing the potential for cell image.
