World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to increase the gear score of an item up to 700, and then add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory before heading to the kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded to benefit from their unique stats (like an ideally made breakpoint armour that can be rolled to use in melee PvP) while others like weapons do not vary greatly post upgrade, so they aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats, such as damage to attack, crit chance, PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons also come with a flat bonus which increases their damage per second. A lot of weapons also come with a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a single unit. This bonus may be greater than the damage that a weapon upgrade can do on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.
Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. This is usually a positive aspect, but it may also have negative effects. Upgrades can make items unusable, unless you are very lucky.
The ability to upgrade armor items to increase their effectiveness. This can boost the defense of a helm or chest as well as belts and gloves. These will increase their required strength and agility. Armor also offers an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it can sometimes reroll to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats it will get when upgraded and their relative values. This means that a change from a sword with 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving an attack damage of 3. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will hit three times less, since it is an absolute number.
A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button with arrows that circle in the menu for items. This will reroll the item and alter its stats but it won't reset the weapon's levels or tie it to the account status.
Armor
Making a few improvements to your armor can make a a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets can offer massive increases in resistance to poison, curses and fire as well as magic. This can make it easier to traverse difficult terrains. In general, the greater defense you have for your character, the greater health you can receive from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four fountains in all and each one requires you to complete a special side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main side quest and have completed the corresponding fountain, you can then contact any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees needed for each will vary. In general, you'll be looking at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, for instance can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which will allow you to remain competitive in frigid environments with a large number of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded to +20 defense so that you can survive a raid with your friends.
Be aware that armor can't be upgraded in the same manner as weapons, so you'll need to focus on enhancing it to increase physical power if you're a Warrior or Spell Power in the case of a Mage. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still wear by the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
You can also get some benefits to your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades to the weapon you'll be using to win the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have some upgrades for the armor on your chest and helmets to allow you to escape some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the player, give the player with a temporary effect. There are five types of potions, each with particular effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to increase their level of effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding glowstone dust and redstone.
Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP. This can be earned by crafting them on a crafting table or the chest of the Alchemist. The cost of upgrading varies based on the type of potion as well as the item's rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This opens a GUI in which you can select the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will give you when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.
Once a poton is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade until you make use of it again or break the bottle in the container it is stored. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change the name of the potion.
Version 1.7.2 brought a few changes to the way potions are used. For example, splash potions now have an average duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display for the item). The potion table can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can be used in both Survival and Bedrock. item upgrades are not compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. item upgrades is true for using a potion in an empty cauldron. This will drain the potion and refill the bottle.
There are also simmering potions made using splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone can be added to lingering potions to enhance their effect. The potion table is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including potion of leaping, decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket is an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. It could be a reference to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose, but isn't particularly significant like a tiny thimble. In some cultures, a trinket can be used to express affection or friendship between family members.
Players can upgrade trinkets as well as weapons and armor, as well as potions. item upgrade can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Trinkets like other items that can be upgraded, can be swapped at will without losing statistics.
Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of every zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with tokens, gold, or fragments from rare trinkets.
Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to buying a new trinket. One can upgrade a trinket with as little 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl as old one, and will come with an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
Trinkets can be upgraded once the old ones are no longer needed and allows players to boost their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players and are a popular alternative to gold.
In general players should upgrade their top-priority items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are upgraded first, followed by their secondary gear and other pieces of equipment they won't be replacing anytime soon (such as an earring or a cloak). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when deciding the items to upgrade. For example, if Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks, they should be focusing on upgrading their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and helm.
When they are no longer useful trinkets are able to be upgraded to a greater level. The upgraded trinket will give you an additional bonus of 1. A re-upgrade, however, will destroy the trinket unless it can be salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than purchasing a new one.
