World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items give players the possibility of upgrading equipment that they already own. This can be done at any [1] item upgrade r NPC.
Generally, upgrades increase an item's main stat and can give it extra benefits, based on the item type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs or Goldwrap for caster builds.
Armour
Link's armor is a key element in keeping him safe from danger. While it isn't able to be upgraded like weapons, it is possible to enhance its defence capabilities in a variety of ways.
Armour is designed to safeguard people or animals from harm or injury regardless of whether it's a direct physical attack or from a variety of environmental or activity hazards. Historically, the majority of armour was made of fabrics or leather, however metal protections were also employed, especially for military applications like heavy cavalry and combat drones.
As with weapons, there are a number of ways that armour can be upgraded, but most will require visiting one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain comes with its own level of upgrades available, with more granting greater levels of protection and requiring a higher cost in rupees and the materials needed to unlock.
First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been put in place, they can't be removed in the event that you own a piece of equipment that has the same upgrade. You should only apply the most powerful upgrades to your equipment, and ensure that you have the equipment needed to complete them.
You can find the upgrades you need in many places throughout Hyrule. These include shrines, merchants and even enemies. They are usually marked with an gold circle or blue triangle symbol and can be found in large numbers as you progress through the game. Although they can appear randomly, there's a chance that acquiring certain upgrade components will lead to a quest that will reward you with more.
It's also worth noting that although the level of protection offered by each upgrade is different but it's the same for all upgrades and will always be superior to nothing. This is because a full set of upgraded armor will provide you with a substantial defense boost, which will shield you from all forms of attacks, excluding magic which makes it a very effective weapon for any class.
Weapons
If you're looking to make your guns distinctive, you can upgrade them by utilizing a variety of unique upgrades. These upgrades can increase the damage or alter the performance of the weapon in accordance with your build. They can also unlock new attachments such as unique enchantments and different types of ammo, and aesthetic options.
You'll require both the upgrade component as well as the weapon itself to upgrade it. The weapon must be at a minimum of a certain level before you can upgrade it. Most weapons can only be upgraded by one upgrade.
There are weapon upgrade components scattered around the globe and from the hands of enemies, or they can be bought from a merchant. Upgrade components are a mixture of ingredients that you are able to incorporate into armors, weapons, trinkets and gathering tools to earn an attribute bonus. They require the equipment to be of a certain degree to accept the upgrade and can be upgraded in the same way as other items.
The upgrades themselves are a mix of Smithing Stones and Runes, and they are used for enhancing the stats of a base weapon and enhancing its scale with other stats. They can be found from enemies dropped in the open world, bought from certain merchants or found from combat.
Two NPCs can upgrade your weapon: Blacksmith Hewg, located in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji, in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs accept your Smithing Stones or Runes to upgrade your weapon.
Prioritize upgrading your best-in slot items first. Then upgrade the ones you're not likely to replace in the near future. If you're planning to play in a melee-based build, for example, upgrade your weapon first, then your shoulders and chest, then your feet and hands. The same principle applies to Magic and Utility Items. However, based on your style of play, certain items will be more beneficial than others. Armour is the same, with certain reforges better than others.
Magic Items
A character can only upgrade one item of magic at a time. If an upgrade project has been cancelled, no more upgrades will be planned for the item. Magic items that are upgraded cost double the gold they would normally cost to create or buy however they may have extra advantages.
A magical item is any item with special properties or effects. Most of these items are weapons, but some are also shields, armor, cloaks, potions, rings, scrolls and other items. Some of these items may be converted into a sentient.
The majority of magic items can be upgraded to be infused with additional abilities. This makes them more useful for players, or can help them overcome an especially difficult challenge. A weapon that is infused can provide bonus damage against a particular type of enemy, for instance. This is particularly useful for those who have reached the level where they're likely to face one type of monster in dungeons.
A ring infused with magic may provide immunity to nonmagical attacks that bludgeon or pierce or cut (excluding silver-based attacks) until the character gets another long rest. This is particularly beneficial for melee fighters, or any character who would like to avoid the hassle and expense of buying a shield.
Certain objects with enchanted properties have special abilities that allow the character to cast spells that are not in their class list. This is helpful for those who are having trouble filling their spell slots due to multiclassing. These magical objects require an Intelligence check (Arcana) and the spell is determined by rolling a table based upon the number of Intelligence point expended.
Other items that are enchanted can let the user change their appearance, or even create a new appearance. They can be especially useful for characters who have had to leave their homes, or are in a situation where they might not be accepted. A magical item could give them an invisible effect, or make them invisible to everyone other than a selected person.
Utility Items
Utility items are equipment which does not fall into the categories of Clothing or Armor and come with a range of capabilities. They are not compatible with each other, in contrast to Armor or Weapons. Most utility items come with a passive effect that players can activate while using them. However, some have additional abilities that can be activated by pressing a button or activating the skill.
The Flashlight is the most commonly used utilitarian item. It illuminates the area around it. Other options include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow the player to be floating in the air while moving and the Jetpack that allows the player to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. Many utility items can be instantly produced in the Engineering section while others are unlockable through research projects or experimental projects in the Proving Ground.
In addition to the items available in the regular inventory, players can also obtain additional useful items of utility by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Some of these items can be upgraded to allow more effective use.
The majority of utility items boost a specific combat attribute or give the player some sort of advantage in navigation. For example, Sharpening stones made by the Weaponsmith boost Ferocity and Power, while Maintenance Oils crafted by the Huntsman boost the power of concentration and healing. Other items of utility such as Writs or Theses crafted by the Scribe, can be used to give the player an increase in damage or condition damage.
All XCOM soldiers can be equipped with a utility item at the beginning of the campaign, and an additional slot can be obtained by equipping certain types of armor or completing engineering, research or other projects in the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters downloadable content, additional slots can be obtained by equipping the Grenade Launcher. This allows players to use a Smoke Grenade or Bomb while an offensive grenade is kept in the main slot.
