World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The upgrade option allows players to boost the gear rating of an item up to 700 points and add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Certain items can be upp'd to increase their stats (like a perfectly rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons don't change much post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Many weapons also have an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a single unit. This bonus can sometimes be greater than the damage a weapon upgrade alone can do.

The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity as well as its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue increase until it is required to use an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons also alter the stats of their base. This is usually a good factor, but it could also have negative effects. Upgrades can render items impossible to use, unless you are exceptionally lucky.

Armor items can be upgraded to increase their performance. For instance, if you have chests or helms, it will boost the defense of its base, while gloves and belts enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it may reroll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats that it will gain when upgraded and their respective values. This means that a weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will strike for 3 fewer times as it is an absolute number.

A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button with circling arrows in the item menu. The item will be rerolled and change its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level nor bind to account status.

Armor

A few armor upgrades can make a huge difference to your survivability. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, making the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. The more defense your character has the more value you can get from every point of health, so it's important to improve your armor as much as you can.

To upgrade your armor, go to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game, and to unlock each fountain, you have to complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once upgrade item 've completed the main quest and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For instance the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep pace with a good-sized group of adversaries in most cold climates and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, providing the protection needed to survive the full-on assault with a few friends.

You can't upgrade armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor for physical strength or spell power. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll wear at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you wear for the final boss battle as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town and you will be able to unlock perks for your armor. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. It's nevertheless beneficial to have some upgrades to the armor on your chest and helmets so that you can get around a few monsters.

Potions

Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed, give the user a temporary status effect. There are five different types of potions, each having a specific set of effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to enhance their level of effectiveness. Alternatively the effects of certain potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.

Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP, which can be earned by crafting them on a crafting table or in the chest of the Alchemist. However, the cost of upgrading will vary based on the type of potion you'd like to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level and rarity.

To upgrade a potions, right-click it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. This opens a GUI in which you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will produce when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.

When a poton is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade in the event that you take it out again or break the bottle in the container it is kept. You can also rename the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.

There were a few updates to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. For instance splash potions now have the duration of 0:08 (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item). The table for potion is constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. Also, putting a potion on a full cauldron, it drains the contents and replenishes the bottle.

In addition, there are simmering potions that are made using dragon breath and splash potions. In the same way, a lingering potion can be enhanced by adding redstone. The potion table is now arranged more like the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as potion of leaping, decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket could be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece of jewelry. It could be a reference to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose but is not particularly important, such as a thimble. In some cultures a trinket is a way to express friendship or affection between family members.

Players can upgrade trinkets in addition to weapons and armor, as well as potions. They can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. As with other upgrades to items trinkets are able to be exchanged at will without losing their status.

The upgrade vendors can be found in major cities and in the capital of each zone, and in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.

Upgrading a trinket is an economical alternative to buying a new one. It can be done by the player for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket has the same base level as the old trinket but it also comes with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.

Trinkets can be upgraded when they are no longer needed which allows a player to increase their power and worth over time. They can be traded between players which makes them a good alternative to gold.

Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are upgraded first then their secondary gear and finally other pieces of equipment they won't be replacing in the near future (such as rings or cloaks). When deciding which items to upgrade, players should consider their class's preferred statistics. For instance when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank, they should be focusing on upgrading their helm, chest, shoulders, and belt.

Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher level once they are no longer useful and the new trinket can be upgraded to have an additional bonus of 1% for upgrading. However, a re-upgrade is likely to ruin the previous trinket in the event that it is not salvaged using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than buying the new one.
