Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Upgrades to items allow players to upgrade their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, boosting its base stats or providing additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory as well as access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, such as rings can be upgraded to a stronger base. Items with strong bases, such as Titans from eth, have no changes in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute benefit, or extra effect, while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, or found as loot gathered by enemies or received from chests or missions. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.

In order to upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the player has to select it and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected upgrade statistics will be, as well as the required component or material needed to make that happen.

There are three types of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, are able to be used in any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment are exactly the same as jewels but have higher bonuses and cannot be placed in any other kind of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix at the end of the names of items. For example the addition of a Glyph will transform the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph with another, the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, except for the inscriptions that can be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from the previous versions in a few important ways. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can be upgraded a certain number of times before being "leveled out." The cost of upgrading is increased with each level however, the materials needed aren't as high. This lets players focus their efforts on a couple of important items to maximize their impact instead of spreading cost of upgrades across several pieces.

When an item is leveled out and is leveled out, it will be capable of receiving a new set of upgrade components, and a boost in the chance that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece is upgraded to its maximum level, it can receive the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The number of affixes available is determined by the item's type. For example, an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade step will require an amount of Flightstones and crests depending on the item's current level and the item slot it's in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item fails to attain its maximum level, the NPC offers the player the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse the item with a different set of upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours, and costs the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower success rate.

Engineers may employ a level to compare the height of the building with a known point, such as a benchmark. This process is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level and backsight rod, then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are built to a high standard of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a vital aspect of the game and can significantly improve an item's strength, damage, or other attributes. This can be accomplished through the menu for items or by clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be performed in rare cases.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which are us ed to acquire tokens for rerolls. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item or another item of the same type. Recyclable items come with a gauge that shows the degree of upgrade. The rarity and cost of upgrading an item will determine the amount of level filled.

In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than other. It meant that you'd get the most crucial stats for your build more often than other items. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns, and the control impaired duration stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.

This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each statistic. This can be good or bad, depending on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.

Each upgraded item may come with a bonus that increases the power of the item by a set percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added to the normal affixes. The more you improve a product, the higher your chances of receiving an exclusive bonus.

The game also includes a number of sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on a unit. This is a good method to give the character more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players reroll their weapons and gear particularly in the initial stages. This is because rerolling can offer a quicker path to a powerful character which allows them to achieve higher levels and advance in the game more quickly.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be arranged in different ways. They can have different sizes, contain no elements at all, or contain a single element. They can be used for organizing data or separating information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be categorized in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.

There are a range of set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that offer high defense and set bonuses. However, most upgrades to weapons do not boost the quality of the item's stats when as compared to their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already large.

Set items can be upgraded to include unique tools that are suitable for specific builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Extraordinary Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).

Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them up to parity with their levels. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrading lower-level set items can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button in the character screen. The item's attributes will be displayed, along with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have spell/weapon-damage glyphs. This will bring about a significant improvement in their performance. The armor that has a new appearance will also benefit from this, since its defense value will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
