Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The best way to improve your equipment in Path of Exile is through upgrade of your items. This lets you improve it without having to rely on expensive drops or trades. This article will show you how to upgrade your items.

Upgrades to equipment provide an additional bonus to the item's base stats. The amount of bonus varies depending on the rarity and strength of the upgrade component.

Components

Upgrade components are the parts that can make your weapons and armor better. You can find them through destroying enemies, buying them from karma vendors or finding them in items-spheres. You can also salvage them from equipment that contains the components or by using salvage kits of high-end quality, such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components cannot be destroyed when you remove them from the item.

Upgrade components are typically used to upgrade an item, but they can also be us ed for other purposes. They can be stacked to boost the value of an item that can be upgraded or they can be used to boost the experience gained by upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can also be forged to offer additional benefits. A crafted glyph can increase the chances of upgrading its target while a boost upgrade increases the defense or attack capabilities of weapons.

Selecting an upgrade template in the GUI will let you bind it to an item. This will display an upgrade component list that the item can be upgraded to. Alternately, you can make use of the workbench to choose an upgrade template. In either scenario, an item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components have been gathered.

Each component is assigned an experience multiplier. This determines how much experience an item gains when upgraded with that component. Organic components, for example, have more experience multipliers than mechanical components. You should upgrade your organic components first until you reach the next rank in the weapon or equipment, then switch to mechanical upgrades.

In addition to the multiplier of experience, each item also has a maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of items that can be upgraded is determined by their upgradeable rank and the kind of upgrade they are able to receive. The highest level of upgrade is a weapon with tier 10. The most commonly used upgrade is a gun of tier 6 and a armor upgrade of tier 5.

Sets

A set is a collection of items which share a bonus. Each item can be upgraded at the minimum once. The upgrade will increase the bonuses that are guaranteed. The first time you upgrade an item, its initial stat will be +1. On subsequent upgrades the primary stats will be boosted a bit more (for instance, +1 to 12+/13+/14+) Each time you upgrade the item, one of its extra stats is boosted randomly.

Upgrades to a weapon may increase its damage base, which can be necessary for certain builds. Weapons cannot be upgraded for greater maximum defence rolls than their base. It is possible to increase value of specific sets and unique items by upgrading them, however they're not always superior to a high-level Runeword.

If you are upgrading an item that has a bonus it can be rerolled one time, and its guarantee will reset to 0. The same power dies are used to reroll an item as it is used to upgrade it. However the new item comes with different bonuses. The NPC [ArmorBoboko Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will need a power die of each kind (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the proper amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collector and are available for purchase with Gold. The NPC will also provide a special reward for each tier of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled a second time and the reroll will be made using the same materials as the original item.

Rerolling

If a player has enough to reroll tokens, they are able to reroll any item that they've accumulated during the game. If an item is rerolled, it will be replaced with a level 1 version in another set. Reroll tokens can be purchased in the store for a small sum of in-game currency. They cannot be refunded. The new item will offer the same bonuses as the previous one, but the stats will also differ.

In addition to rerolling items players can also alter the identification of any item by engaging with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identification from an armor to a weapon or vice versa, while keeping its basic stats and required attributes. The change will be permanent and will affect all characters that own the equipment.

The player can also upgrade the item level for any equipment equipped. This can be done by engaging with an upgrader NPC, and then obtaining upgrade items. The cost of upgrading will depend on the upgrade track, the item type and number of crests. Each step will give 5% more damage to weapons.

An upgrade can boost its power however, it can also lower its quality. It is therefore important to strike a balance between the two. Some items aren't worth upgrading, while others require upgrading to make them more effective. For example an individual player may decide to upgrade a piece of breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier (% chance to block or FHR) to see what it can be.

Rerolling is a standard practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. People use it to gain access to a character or weapon they would not otherwise be able to acquire. Getting these items can be expensive and time-consuming, and the RNG gods don't always want to cooperate. The only alternative is to spend money or grind a lot. For this reason, rerolling is a very popular choice in Genshin Impact.

Leveling

You can decide to upgrade the weapon or armor when you upgrade an item. This feature isn't available in the current version of the game. I believe this feature was intended to add some value to rare and expensive items. However, since most gear is replaced fairly quickly, and can only be leveled up to a certain level, you will typically replace it before it gets too old. It is also not worth upgrading items with gem sockets, as the power of the gemstone will outweigh any increment in ilvl.

You will see a small box when you click on the upgrade option on an item. It will show the template of the item, the Crest, as well as the Valorstone cost to raise the item level. The cost of upgrades will vary based on armor and weapons, with the former usually costing more than the latter. The upgrade template lists the stats that will be added to an upgraded item, as well as its current ilvl.

The cost of the Valorstone and the crest is calculated based on the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. Additionally, the ilvl of the new upgraded item will be decreased by the template's lvl decrease percentage. For instance an upgrade of 8% will reduce the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 88%.

The item will receive upgrades to other stats, like critical strike damage, PvE damage, and block, parry and dodge rating in addition to the base ilvl. These upgrades are also based on the upgrade template.

In the upgrade template, you can determine the amount of damage or defense that the item will suffer after it is leveled up. This is listed below the cost as well as the upgrade percentages. Aside from equipment for practice, all armor and weapons gain the same stats once leveled up. The value of these stats will be determined by the market, with a perfectly rolled version of a weapon or piece of armor able to command much more in trade value than unupp'd versions. The same applies to other pieces of armor like circlets and Tiaras.
