9 ± 5.2%. We found that females showed more negative GLS than males except in the youngest group, and no age-related difference of GLS was observed in both gender groups. RLS and SLS presented with the same age-related tendency as GLS. The basal and middle-cavity LS were similar between each other and significantly larger than apical LS. RVFW-GLSR resulted as - 1.73 ± 0.58 s-1 and 1.69 ± 0.65 s-1 during systolic and diastolic phases, respectively. The diastolic GLSR of males tended to decline with the ageing and was significantly lower than that of females in G61-80 group. Regional and segmental LSR showed significant gender-related differences in certain basal and apical region/segments without any age-related effects. CMR-TT overcomes the difficulty in measuring RV global and segmental deformation. The establishment of the vendor-, gender- and segment-specific reference values of RVFW-LS and LSR is essential for the rapid and efficient utilization of CMR-TT modality in the clinical routine. Objective To define the uniqueness of chest CT infiltrative features associated with COVID-19 image characteristics as potential diagnostic biomarkers. Methods We retrospectively collected chest CT exams including n = 498 on 151 unique patients RT-PCR positive for COVID-19 and n = 497 unique patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). Both COVID-19 and CAP image sets were partitioned into three groups for training, validation, and testing respectively. In an attempt to discriminate COVID-19 from CAP, we developed several classifiers based on three-dimensional (3D) convolutional neural networks (CNNs). We also asked two experienced radiologists to visually interpret the testing set and discriminate COVID-19 from CAP. selleck chemicals llc The classification performance of the computer algorithms and the radiologists was assessed using the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis, and the nonparametric approaches with multiplicity adjustments when necessary. Results One of the considered models showed non-trivial, but moderate diagnostic ability overall (AUC of 0.70 with 99% CI 0.56-0.85). This model allowed for the identification of 8-50% of CAP patients with only 2% of COVID-19 patients. Conclusions Professional or automated interpretation of CT exams has a moderately low ability to distinguish between COVID-19 and CAP cases. However, the automated image analysis is promising for targeted decision-making due to being able to accurately identify a sizable subsect of non-COVID-19 cases. Key points • Both human experts and artificial intelligent models were used to classify the CT scans. • ROC analysis and the nonparametric approaches were used to analyze the performance of the radiologists and computer algorithms. • Unique image features or patterns may not exist for reliably distinguishing all COVID-19 from CAP; however, there may be imaging markers that can identify a sizable subset of non-COVID-19 cases. Objectives This study investigated the impact of machine learning (ML)-based fractional flow reserve derived from computed tomography (FFRCT) compared to invasive coronary angiography (ICA) for therapeutic decision-making and patient outcome in patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD). Methods One thousand one hundred twenty-one consecutive patients with stable chest pain who underwent coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) followed ICA within 90 days between January 2007 and December 2016 were included in this retrospective study. Medical records were reviewed for the endpoint of major adverse cardiac events (MACEs). FFRCT values were calculated using an artificial intelligence (AI) ML platform. Disagreements between hemodynamic significant stenosis via FFRCT and severe stenosis on qualitative CCTA and ICA were also evaluated. Results After FFRCT results were revealed, a change in the proposed treatment regimen chosen based on ICA results was seen in 167 patients (14.9%). Over a median ls with positive FFRCTmay reduce the normalcy rate of ICA and improve its efficiency.Reporting of vertebral fractures has important clinical consequences and can be improved by routinely performing sagittal reformating and by the use of a standard nomenclature and classification. Objectives To report on our initial experience with intramesenteric (IM) dynamic contrast magnetic resonance lymphangiography (DCMRL) for evaluation of the lymphatics in patients with concern for mesenteric lymphatic flow disorders and to compare IM-DCMRL with intrahepatic (IH) and intranodal (IN) DCMRL. Methods This is a retrospective review of imaging findings in 15 consecutive patients who presented with protein losing enteropathy (PLE) and/or ascites undergoing IM-DCMRL, IH-DCMRL, and IN-DCMRL. The IM-DCMRL technique involves the injection of a gadolinium contrast agent into the mesenteric lymphatic ducts or lymph nodes followed by imaging of the abdomen and chest with dynamic time-resolved MR lymphangiography. Results IM-DCMRL was successfully performed in 14/15 (93%) of the patients. When comparing IN-DCMRL with IM-DCMRL, there was a significant difference in the visualization of dermal backflow (p = 0.014), duodenal perfusion (p = 0.003), duodenal leak (p = 0.014), and peritoneal leak (p = 0.003). IM-Dg enteropathy not seen with intranodal (IN-DCMRL) imaging.Linear type traits are of quite importance to animal breeders because of their significant influence on production performance as well as longevity and thus on overall profitability of the enterprise. To sustain the high milk production of dairy animals for a longer time without facing adverse consequences on animal health, it is important to include type traits in selection criteria. Besides, type traits have been found to have correlations with many economic traits. Dairy advanced countries are using linear type traits of cows in their selection programs, but due emphasis has not been given to type traits in Indian subcontinent. Very few studies have been undertaken for appraising linear type traits in dairy animals of Indian cattle breeds. The paper reviews the results of these studies and future strategies needed for type evaluation of Indian cattle. Given that a good type of dairy cow is efficient in production, as the research suggests, a systematic type recording system should be started for Indian breeds of cattle.
