This work aimed to optimize conditions for the immobilization of Serratia plymuthica through ionic gelation and cross-linking by transglutaminase using the sequential experimental strategy for the conversion of sucrose into isomaltulose. The effect of five variables (concentrations of cell mass, alginate, gelatin, transglutaminase, and calcium chloride) was studied, as well as the interactions between them on the matrix composition for the S. plymuthica immobilization. Three experimental designs were used to optimize the concentrations of each variable to obtain higher concentration of isomaltulose. A high conversion of sucrose into isomaltulose (71.04%) was obtained by the cells immobilized in a matrix composed of alginate (1.7%), CaCl2 (0.25 mol/L), gelatin (0.5%), transglutaminase (3.5%) and cell mass (33.5%). As a result, the transglutaminase application as a cross-linking agent improved the immobilization of Serratia plymuthica cells and the conversion of sucrose into isomaltulose.ST-segment elevation (STE) in the anterior precordial leads is the hallmark of anterior myocardial infarction. In rare cases, this ECG pattern may be due to isolated infarction of the right ventricle since leads V1-V3 directly overlie the right ventricular free wall. Our present study aims to evaluate the impact of MHR by Holter monitoring on long-term mortality in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).

1013 STEMI patients were divided into four groups according to the quartiles of MHR by Holter monitoring, Q1 (< 66bpm), Q2 66-72bpm), Q3 (73-78bpm), and Q4 (> 78bpm). The endpoint was long-term all-cause mortality. Decitabine The predictive value of admission HR, discharge HR, and MHR was compared with receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves.

Patients in Q4 were more likely to present with anterior MI, high Killip class, relatively lower admission blood pressure, significantly increased troponin I, B-type natriuretic peptide, and decreased left ventricular ejection fraction. During a median of 28.3months follow up period, 91 patients (8.9%) died. The mortality in Q4 was significantly higher than in the other three groups (P < 0.001). After multivariate adjustment, Q4 was associated with a 1.0-fold increased risk of long-term all-cause mortality (HR = 2.096, 95% CI 1.190-3.691, P = 0.010). ROC analysis shows MHR with Holter (AUC = 0.672) was superior to admission HR (AUC = 0.556) or discharge HR (AUC = 0.578).

MHR based on Holter monitoring provided important prognostic value and MHR > 78bpm was independently associated with increased risk of long-term all-cause mortality in patients with STEMI, and its predictive validity was superior to admission or discharge HR.

To investigate the relationship between three-dimensional computed tomography (3D-CT) findings and pathological invasiveness in lung adenocarcinoma.

We retrospectively evaluated 95 patients who underwent surgical resection of lung adenocarcinoma of ≤ 20mm. The diameters, volumes, and CT values of tumor consolidation were analyzed. We defined the modified CT value by setting air as 0 and water as 1000 and assumed a correlation with pathological invasiveness. Pre-invasive lesions and minimally invasive adenocarcinomas were classified as non-invasive adenocarcinoma. We compared the clinico-radiological features with pathological invasiveness. Receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curves and recurrence-free survival curves were constructed.

Twenty-six non-invasive adenocarcinomas and 69 invasive adenocarcinomas were evaluated. The multivariate analysis revealed that the consolidation volume and the integration of modified CT values were the most important predictors of pathological invasion. The area under the ROC curve and the cut-off values of the consolidation volume were 0.868 and 75mm
