The epitaxial (K0.49Na0.49Li0.02)(Ta0.2Nb0.8)O3 with 2 wt % MnO2 addition (KNNLT-M) film on the transparent La0.03Ba0.97SnO3-coated LaAlO3 (001) substrate is chosen to investigate how the lattice evolution, as well as the electrical properties, optical bandgap energy, and thermal stability, changes with the growth oxygen pressure [P(O2)]. Compared to the other perovskite oxide films, for example, (La,Ca)MnO3, PbTiO3, and BaTiO3, an anomalous lattice evolution with an increased (decreased) out-of-plane (in-plane) lattice constant was observed in KNNLT-M films as P(O2) increases. Such anomalous lattice evolution can improve the electric properties of KNNLT-M films; for example, the ferroelectricity is significantly optimized and the dielectric constant is enhanced from 451 to 1248 at 1 kHz. The X-ray photoelectron spectra results have demonstrated that high P(O2) can make more K cations to enter the perovskite lattice and the Mn2+/Mn3+ existing in KNNLT can effectively suppress the leakage behavior, thus promoting the electrical nature of KNNLT-M films. The optical measurements show that the KNNLT-M film heterostructures are highly transparent with a maximum transmittance of ∼80%, and both direct and indirect bandgap energies increase with increasing P(O2). Meanwhile, all these KNNLT-M films exhibit good thermal stability with stable ferroelectricity up to the high temperature of at least 125 °C. These results demonstrate that the control of the lattice structure and electrical properties by P(O2) is one of the important prerequisites for the application of KNN-based films.

Significant concerns about mental health were raised during the COVID-19 pandemic. We investigated the prevalence of depression and anxiety symptoms among the participants of the United Arab Emirates Healthy Future Study (UAEHFS); a national cohort study. We further explored the change in the prevalence of depression symptoms among those with comparable pre-pandemic data.

A sample of UAEHFS participants were invited to complete a COVID-19 online questionnaire during the first wave of the pandemic. Depression and anxiety symptoms were assessed using the Patient Health Questionnaire Depression Scale (PHQ-8) and the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 Scale (GAD-7) respectively. Unpaired analyses were done to examine the effect of COVID-19 on depression and anxiety symptoms during the pandemic. Paired analysis was conducted to examine the change in depression symptoms.

During the pandemic, we reported a prevalence of 32.8% (95% CI 27.0, 39.1) for depression and 26.4% (95% CI 21.0, 32.6) for anxiety symptoms. Yoectories through longitudinal studies would help with planning for effective mental health interventions for the current and future pandemics.

The results indicate that, for the district-level model, the participation factor directly and negatively influenced risky behaviors, and government support indirectly had a negative impact through participation. There persists, however, a paucity of growth data for most reef-building regions, especially for coral species whose skeletal architecture prevents the use of traditional methods such as coring and Alizarin staining. We used structure-from-motion photogrammetry to quantify a range of colony-scale growth metrics for six coral species in the Mexican Caribbean and present a newly developed workflow to measure colony volume change over time. Our results provide the first growth metrics for two species that are now major space occupiers on Caribbean reefs, Agaricia agaricites and Agaricia tenuifolia. We also document higher linear extension, volume increase and calcification rates within back reef compared to fore reef environments for four other common species Orbicella faveolata, Porites astreoides, Siderastrea siderea and Pseudodiploria strigosa. Linear extension rates in our study were lower than those obtained via computed tomography (CT) scans of coral cores from the same sites, as the photogrammetry method averages growth in all dimensions, while the CT method depicts growth only along the main growth axis (upwards). The comparison of direct volume change versus potential volume increase calculated from linear extension emphasizes the importance of assessing whole colony growth to improve calcification estimates. The method presented here provides an approach that can generate accurate calcification estimates alongside a range of other whole-colony growth metrics in a non-invasive way.

This study aims to investigate the health-related quality of life and coping strategies among COVID-19 survivors in Bangladesh.

This is a cross-sectional study of 2198 adult, COVID-19 survivors living in Bangladesh. Data were collected from previously diagnosed COVID-19 participants (confirmed by an RT-PCR test) via door-to-door interviews in the eight different divisions in Bangladesh. For data collection, Bengali-translated Brief COPE inventory and WHO Brief Quality of Life (WHO-QoLBREF) questionnaires were used. The data collection period was from October 2020 to March 2021.

Males 72.38% (1591) were more affected by COVID-19 than females 27.62% (607). Age showed significant correlations (p<0.005) with physical, psychological and social relationships, whereas gender showed only a significant correlation with physical health (p<0.001).
