The objective of this study was to investigate the feasibility and efficacy of image-guided moderately hypofractionated thoracic radiotherapy (hypo-IGRT) in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with poor performance status and severely limited pulmonary function and reserve.

Cannabis use is increasing among cigarette smokers in the United States. Prior studies suggest that cannabis use may be a barrier to smoking cessation. Yet, the extent to which this is the case among adults seeking to quit tobacco use remains unclear. Tobacco quitlines are the most common provider of no-cost treatment for adults who use smoke in the United States. This study investigated the association between cannabis use and smoking cessation outcomes among quitline callers.

Participants included callers to the New York State Smokers' Quitline, who were seeking to quit smoking cigarettes and were contacted for outcome assessment 7 months after intake. Thirty-day point prevalence abstinence rates were calculated and compared among cannabis use groups, based on frequency of past-30-day cannabis use at baseline (none 0 days, occasional 1-9 days, regular 10-19 days, and daily 20-30 days).

The experimental design provided ranges in metabolizable energy (ME) intake (MEI), BW, and average daily gain needed to develop regression equations to predict net energy for maintenance (NEm) requirements. Four steers of each GG were slaughtered to determine the initial body composition. The remaining 63 steers were assigned to different nutritional treatments (NT) by GG; ad libitum or limit-fed treatments (receiving 70% of the daily feed of the ad libitum treatment of the same GG). To examine the evolution of this iconic trait using protein-coding and noncoding single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), we analyzed the genomes of 86 Lake Malawi cichlid species, including 33 de novo resequenced genomes. Surprisingly, genome-wide protein-coding SNPs exhibited enough phylogenetic informativeness to reconstruct interspecific and intraspecific relationships of hypertrophied lip cichlids, although noncoding SNPs provided better support. However, thinning of noncoding SNPs indicated most discrepancies come from the relatively smaller number of protein-coding sites and not from fundamental differences in their phylogenetic informativeness. Both coding and noncoding reconstructions showed that several "sand-dwelling" hypertrophied lip species, sampled intraspecifically, form a clade interspersed with a few other nonhypertrophied lip lineages.
