Clavicle is an upper limb locomotory bone which helps in formation of pectoral girdle and connected the upper limb with axial skeleton. There is no baseline data of clavicle in contrast to demographic variation in our country, so the study was designed to obtain baseline data on clavicle for anthropological, forensic and clinical use. This descriptive cross-sectional study was done among 150 (65 right and 85 left) fully ossified dry human clavicle in Mymensingh Medical College, Mymensingh, Bangladesh from January 2020 to December 2020. Sample was collected by the help of nonrandom purposive sampling technique from Department of Anatomy of Mymensingh Medical College and Community Based Medical College, Bangladesh, Mymensingh. The parameters were the antero-posterior diameter and vertical diameter of sternal and acromial ends of clavicle, measured with the help of digital vernier slide caliper and expressed in millimeter. In the current study the mean±SD antero-posterior diameter of sternal end of 65 clavicles of right side was 21.97±2.889mm and 85 clavicles of left side were 20.30±3.459mm. The mean±SD antero-posterior diameter of acromial end of 65 right sided clavicles was 21.96±5.161mm and 85 clavicles of left side were 21.00±4.002mm. Correlation was done in between antero-posterior diameter and vertical diameter of sternal end of clavicle and the differences were highly significant on both sides. Similarly, when correlation was done for the acromial end of clavicle the difference was found non-significant on right side and highly significant on left side.Thalassemia is the most prevalent single gene defect in human beings worldwide. Repeated blood transfusions along with chelation therapy are mainstay of treatment in thalassemia patients. However these recurrent blood transfusions result in iron overload which along with chelation therapy causes deterioration of liver function. Aim of the study was to evaluate the liver function tests in β-thalassemia major patients. This cross sectional study was conducted in the Department of Biochemistry, Dhaka Medical College, Dhaka, Bangladesh from January 2017 to December 2017. In this study, 50 diagnosed patients of β Thalassemia major (Group A) and 50 apparently healthy children (Group B) of both sexes were selected from the department of Paediatrics, Dhaka medical college. The study parameters were serum ferritin, bilirubin, AST, ALT, ALP. The results were compared statistically between groups. Serum ferritin level (mean±SD) in thalassemic major patients in Group A (890±446.38 microgram/L) which is significantly higher above normal level. Serum bilirubin in Group A (3.27±2.62 mg/dl) and in Group B (0.48±0.24 mg/dl), Serum ALT in Group A (53.06±34.0 U/L) and in Group B (16.70±4.81 U/L), AST in Group A (84.56±33.54 U/L) and in Group B (11.60±2.72 U/L) and ALP levels in Group A (422.42±226.99 IU/L) and in Group B (221.86±80.54 IU/L). All the values were significantly higher (p less then 0.001) in β-thalassemia patient than that of normal children. This study concludes that liver function parameters are significantly higher in β thalassemia major patients. So routine evaluation of liver function tests may be advocated for thalassemic patients to predict early onset of hepatic dysfunction.Adolescence explained as a period of age between 10 to 19 years. This is a major contributing period to build up the health of girls. Ferritin is an intracellular protein that contains iron and releases it in a controlled fashion and it reflects body iron stores and systemic inflammation during adolescent period. It is considered the best single test for the diagnosis of iron deficiency anemia during adolescent because its concentration is directly proportional to total body iron stores in adolescent period. This study was done in the Department of Physiology, Mymensingh Medical College, Mymensingh, Bangladesh to evaluate the changes of serum ferritin levels among iron deficient anemic adolescent girls in comparison to healthy adolescent girls in Bangladesh. This was a cross sectional, prospective, analytical type of study. This study ranged from 10-19 years of adolescent girls. Seventy (70) healthy adolescent girls, as control group (Group I). Seventy (70) iron deficiency anemic adolescent girls as study group (Group II). Serum ferritin was estimated by Micro-particle Enzyme Immunoassay Test Kit. Data were expressed as mean (±SD). Statistical significance of difference among the Group I and Group II were calculated by unpaired students 't' test. The mean±SD level of serum ferritin among Group I and Group II were 26.22±4.03μg/L and 13.33±3.18μg/L respectively. Mean values ±SD of serum ferritin significantly lower in (Group II) in comparison with (Group I). Higher numbers of adolescent girls are still suffering from anemia along with low level of serum ferritin in Bangladesh. For combat this situation, immediate, sustainable and long term public health intervention and nutritional supplementation must be required.

Multi Fractionated stereotactic radiosurgery (MF-SRS) of Linac has an essential role in the treatment of skull base meningiomas (sbMNG). However, Gamma Knife Icon (GK) allows MF-SRS using mask immobilization with onboard image guidance.

This dosimetric study aims to investigate whether equivalent plan quality can be achieved with Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT) in patients with large sbMNG (>10 cm3) previously treated with GK.

Twenty patients with the median target volume of 19.7cm3 are re-planned by using VMAT with 20 Gy in 5 fractions. Plan qualities are compared to tumor coverage, paddick conformity index (PCI), gradient index (GI), V4 Gy, V10 Gy, V12 Gy, optic chiasm V20 Gy, brainstem V23 Gy, optic nerve V25 Gy volumes, and maximum doses for all. Additionally, beam-on time and approximate planning time are also analyzed and compared.

All plans provide adequate clinical requirements. First, the CI is comparable for the GK and VMAT (0.99±0.01 vs. 1.13±0.20; p = 0.18). Second, VMAT has a significantly higher GI than GK (3.81±0.35 vs. 2.63±0.09; p < 0.001). Third, the PCI is significantly higher in GK than VMAT (0.76±0.05 vs. 0.70±0.07; p < 0.001). The lower GI of the GK also results in significantly lower V4 Gy (156.1±43.8 vs. 207.5±40.1 cm3, p < 0.001) and V10 Gy (26.1±9.0 vs. 28.9±7.7 cm3, p < 0.001) compared to VMAT. Last, the VMAT reduces beam-on time (4.8±0.5 vs. 19±1.1 min.; p < 0.001).

Although both systems have succeeded in creating effective plans in clinical practice, the GK reveals more effective lower normal brain tissue doses. However, the shorter treatment time with LINAC, excluding the total procedure time, can be considered advantageous over GK.

To investigate the value of nomogram analysis based on conventional features and radiomics features of computed tomography (CT) venous phase to differentiate metastatic ovarian tumors (MOTs) from epithelial ovarian tumors (EOTs).

A dataset involving 286 patients pathologically confirmed with EOTs (training cohort 133 cases, validation cohort 68 cases) and MOTs (training cohort 54 cases, validation cohort 31 cases) is assembled in this study. Radiomics features are extracted from the venous phase of CT images. Logistic regression is employed to build models based on conventional features (model 1), radiomics features (model 2), and the combination of model 1 and model 2 (model 3). Diagnostic performance is assessed and compared. Additionally, a nomogram is plotted for model 3, and decision curve analysis is applied for clinical use.

Age, abdominal metastasis, para-aortic lymph node metastasis, location, and septation are chosen to build Model 1. Ten optimal radiomics features are ultimately selected and radiomics score (rad-score) is calculated to build Model 2. Nomogram score is calculated to build model 3 that shows optimal diagnostic performance in both the training (AUC = 0.952) and validation cohorts (AUC = 0.720), followed by model 1 (AUC = 0.872 for training cohort and AUC = 0.709 for validation cohort) and model 2 (AUC = 0.833 for training cohort and AUC = 0.620 for validation cohort). Additionally, Model 3 achieves accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of 0.893, 0.880, and 0.926 in the training cohort and 0.737, 0.853, and 0.613 in the validation cohort.

Model 3 demonstrates the best diagnostic performance for preoperative differentiation of MOTs from EOTs. Thus, nomogram analysis based on Model 3 may be used as a biomarker to differentiate MOTs from EOTs.

The most prevalent mental health diagnosis is anxiety disorder, which remains largely undertreated.

This investigation considered differences in workplace discrimination against adults with anxiety disorders during two eras of legal history the original Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA, 1990-2008) and the ADA Amendments Act (ADAAA, 2009-present).

Research questions addressed differential (a) numbers and types of allegations, (b) case resolutions, and (c) demographic characteristics of the charging parties.

Results indicated substantially more allegations and merit-based resolutions filed by charging parties with anxiety disorders post-ADAAA. Furthermore, the post-ADAAA era revealed increases in allegations from women and people from non-white racial groups.

These findings can inform advocacy and counseling and rehabilitation services for clients who experience anxiety.

The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in mandatory remote working for workers in many sectors, including education.

This study aimed to investigate the physical characteristics of workspaces, computer use, and prevalence, associated factors, and reported impact of computer-related musculoskeletal symptoms (MSS) among university staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A cross-sectional study of staff in a university in Ireland was conducted in March 2021. An anonymous online survey of computer use, work practices and 3-month prevalence and the reported impact of computer-related MSS (modified Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire) was conducted. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics and relationships were tested using chi-squared analysis.

The analysis included 1045 responses. The majority (63%) worked solely from home, used a laptop more frequently than a desktop computer, and worked a greater number of hours. Almost half (48%) did not have a dedicated home workspace. More respondents reported their university workspace (72%) was more comfortable than their home workspace (51.2%) (p < 0.0001). Prevalence of computer-related MSS was 83% neck (62%), shoulder (57%), lower back (47%). Laptop-related MSS was reported more frequently (82%) than desktop-related MSS (65%) (p < 0.05). Computer-related MSS was associated with workspace, equipment at home, laptop use, female gender, and righthandedness (p < 0.05). A reduction in non-work-related activities (35%), work activities (18%) and seeking medical attention (24%) was reported.

The prevalence of computer-related MSS was high and associated with remote working. Further studies that aim to mitigate the risks of computer-related MSS in those working remotely or in hybrid models are required.
