The SqueezeNet that comes forward with its light network design is tuned for the COVID-19 diagnosis with Bayesian optimization additive. Fine-tuned hyperparameters and augmented dataset make the proposed network perform much better than existing network designs and to obtain a higher COVID-19 diagnosis accuracy. COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel SARS-CoV-2, a betacoronavirus structurally similar to SARS-CoV. Based on both structural and syndromic similarities with SARS-CoV, a hypothesis is formed on SARS-CoV-2 potential to affect the host's metabolism as part of its lifecycle. This hypothesis is evaluated by (a) exploratory analysis of SARS-CoV/human transcriptomic interaction data and gene set enrichment analysis (b) a confirmatory, focused review of the literature based on the findings by (a). A STRING Viruses (available search for human - SARS-CoV (NCBI taxonomy Id 9606 vs. NCBI taxonomy Id 694009) genomic interactions reveals ten human proteins, interacting with SARS-CoV SGTA, FGL2, SPECC1, STAT3, PHB, BCL2L1, PPP1CA, CAV1, JUN, XPO1. Gene set enrichment analyses (GSEA) with STRING on this network revealed their role as a putative protein - protein interaction network (PPI; Enrichment p-value = 0.0296) mediating, viral parasitism, interleukin as well as insulin signaling, diabetes and triglyceride catabolism. In the literature, SARS-CoV has been known to cause de novo diabetes by ACE2-dependent uptake on pancreatic isle cells, and furthermore dysregulate lipid autophagy in favor of the viral lifecycle. Conversely, currently there are only non-causative, observational evidence of worse outcomes for COVID-19 patients with comorbid diabetes or hyperglycemia. No study has reported on the lipid profiles of COVID-19 patients; however, lipid-targeting molecules have been proposed as agents against SARS-CoV-2. Future studies, reporting on lipid and glucose metabolism of COVID-19 patients could help elucidate the disease's seculae and aid drug design. COVID-19 pandemic is a major challenge for global and national healthcare providers. Number of new cases is continuously increasing with an emerging trend showing worse prognosis in males in comparison to females. Based on this observation, our proposed hypothesis is that 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors, that are commonly used for BPH treatment, may be one of the factors contributing to poorer prognosis in males. Polycarbonate (PC) is a good material for covering and protecting cultural heritage sites because of its durability, mechanical properties, and transparency. When bisphenol A polycarbonate is subjected to weathering conditions this polymer shows several degradation processes depending on the irradiation wavelength, humidity and temperature. In particular, the combined effects of humidity and UV irradiation speed up the PC molecular weight reduction. In this work, the decomposition mechanisms associated to the hydrolysis process are scrutinized and the effects of UV irradiation on the hydrolysis process are evaluated throughout the Density Functional Theory (DFT) approach. It was found that under UV irradiation the hydrolysis process is speeded up because of the geometrical rearrangement due to the photo-Fries process induced by the UV light. Solid waste materials refer to those municipal or industrial or even domestic wastes that are massively produced during manufacture as well as daily life. A wide variety of solid wastes are generated, but only a few of them are employed in pavement structures. To achieve the task, papers between 2014 and 2019 from top journals which address waste management, waste characterization, and economic and environmental assessment were collected at first. Then, the scope of solid waste materials was narrowed down based on their applications, In the end, six most popular solid waste materials were selected for further study and for the review, namely recycled concrete aggregates, reclaimed asphalt pavement, fly ash, bottom ash, waste rubber, and waste plastics. The reason why only these six solid waste materials are selected is that the rest are neither massively produced not can they be directly used in pavement structures. This review article contains structural properties, treatments, novel researches, environmental analysis, and economic analysis of each solid waste material. The objective of this review article is to provide future researchers with the latest research findings, limitations and improvements in this subject. In conclusion, quite a few novel researchers in terms of workmanship, construction methodology, and treatments are collected for all six materials. Furthermore, an increasing number of findings have proven that most solid waste materials have both environmental and economic benefits when applied in field. Future researchers are encouraged to implement researches on solid waste materials in pavement engineering with consideration of both material properties and environmental/economic effects. Rice husk is an agricultural waste-based biomass that can provide an alternative renewable source of bioenergy. Rice husk carbon and rice husk ash are major solid residues obtained after converting rice husk to bioenergy. This paper reports the synthesis of two graphene oxide-based activated carbons using rice husk carbon through H3PO4 and ZnCl2 activation, respectively. By contrast, mesoporous silica was produced using recycled rice husk ash. Graphene oxide/ordered mesoporous carbon was prepared using mesoporous silica as a template source. These composites were inspected using a Raman spectrometer, Fourier transform infrared spectrometer, transmission electron microscope, field-emission scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffractometer, and surface area analyzer. Experimental results indicated that graphene oxide-based H3PO4 activated carbon, ZnCl2 activated carbon, and ordered mesoporous carbon had a surface area of 361, 732, and 936 m2/g, respectively; a pore volume of 0.299, 0.581, and 1.077 cm3/g, respectively; and an average pore size of 2.31, 3.17, and 4.35 nm, respectively. The carbonaceous composites with graphene oxide exhibited a higher adsorption ability than did pure carbon materials without graphene oxide. The maximum adsorption capacities using methylene blue as adsorbate followed the order of ordered mesoporous carbon (1591 mg/g) > ZnCl2 activated carbon (899 mg/g) > H3PO4 activated carbon (747 mg/g). The isothermal adsorption and kinetics study for graphene oxide/ordered mesoporous carbon indicated that adsorption followed the Langmuir isotherm model and pseudo-second order kinetic model. Rice husk waste has excellent prospective potential for producing highly valuable nanoproducts and for reducing environmental pollution. Nowadays, waste tire rubber (WTR) management is a growing and serious problem. Therefore, research works focused on the development of cost-effective and environmentally-friendly methods of WTR recycling are fully justified. find more Incorporation of WTR into polymer matrices and composite materials attracts much attention, because this approach allows sustainable development of industrially applicable waste tires recycling technologies. Generally, utilization of WTR as a filler for polymer composites noticeably reduces materials costs, while suitable modification/functionalization of WTR may significantly enhance the performance of plastics and rubbers. This work aims to summarize the literature reports related to the thermoset/WTR composites based on various matrices such as polyurethanes, epoxy and other resins. It particularly focuses on compatibilization strategies in thermosets/WTR systems and their impact on the chemistry and physical interfacial interactions between thermoset matrix and WTR filler phase, what significantly affecting performance properties of prepared materials. Moreover, future trends and limitation related to thermoset/WTR composites development are discussed. Gestation and lactation are very sensitive and vulnerable stages for human growth and development. During these two periods, short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) and medium-chain chlorinated paraffins (MCCPs) can be transported to neonates via transplacental and breastfeeding transfers, and eventually posing potential adverse effects to neonates. Up to date, no simultaneous investigation of prenatal and postnatal exposure of CPs is reported. To bridge this knowledge gap, we have analyzed SCCPs and MCCPs in 20 complete sets of maternal serum, umbilical cord serum, placenta, and breast milk. The levels of both ∑SCCP and ∑MCCP followed the order of maternal serum > breast milk > cord serum > placenta. The breastfeeding transfer ratios (RBM, ≈ 1.0) of CPs were greater than the corresponding transplacental transfer ratios (RCM, 100 times higher than the gestation exposure amounts. This study helps to better understand the prenatal and postnatal exposure of CPs and provides a solid basis for accurate human health risk assessment of CPs. Recently, the world has experienced a wave of violent protest, and in particular Islamist and right-wing extremism have become increasing challenges for many societies. We argue that especially the experience of relative deprivation, that is the perception that oneself or one's group is undeservingly worse off than others, can explain various, contemporary forms of violent extremism, including (a) low-power groups' violent attempts to challenge the unequal status quo, (b) high-power groups' violent defense of their privileged position, and sometimes even (c) people's violent attempt to help out-groups in need. In light of recent research and growing social inequalities, we expect relative deprivation to be a key factor driving violent extremism across cultures and contexts in the 21st century. BACKGROUND Evidence on how weight loss correlates to health-related quality-of-life (HRQOL) among obese breast cancer (BC) patients is limited. We aimed to evaluate associations between weight changes and HRQOL. METHODS We included 993 obese women with stage I-II-III BC from CANTO, a multicenter, prospective cohort collecting longitudinal, objectively-assessed anthropometric measures and HRQOL data (NCT01993498). Associations between weight changes (±5% between diagnosis and post-treatment [shortly after completion of surgery, adjuvant chemo- or radiation-therapy]) and patient-reported HRQOL (EORTC QLQ-C30/B23) were comprehensively evaluated. Changes in HRQOL and odds of severely impaired HRQOL were assessed using multivariable generalized estimating equations and logistic regression, respectively. RESULTS 14.1% women gained weight, 67.3% remained stable and 18.6% lost weight. Significant decreases in functional status and exacerbation of symptoms were observed overall post-treatment. Compared to gaining weigr symptomatology in any domain of HRQOL. PURPOSE To evaluate 3D-printed anatomic models of the distal femur and patella for diagnosis and classification of patellofemoral dysplasia in comparison to conventional radiographs (CR) and CT. METHOD Following local ethics committee approval, CT-datasets of 50 patients were segmented and 3D-anatomic models of the distal femur and patella were printed. An expert panel reviewed CR, CT, 3D-models and patient history and classified the femoral trochleas into normal or Dejour type A-D and the patellas into Wiberg type A-C, which served as the standard of reference. The same classifications were performed by two readers independently, first based on 3D-models and after 3 weeks based on CR and CT. Descriptive statistics, ROC-analysis and inter-reader reliability were performed. RESULTS Trochlear dysplasia was present in 28/50 patients. Evaluations of 3D-models vs. CR/CT for trochlear dysplasia showed a sensitivity/specificity of 89.3 %/100 % vs. 96.4 %/68.2 % for reader 1 and 96.4 %/100 % vs. 96.4 %/90.9 % for reader 2, and an area under the curve of 0.
