With the spread of Coronavirus Disease (2019) (COVID-19), combination with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been widely used as a prevention and therapy strategy in China. Xin guan No.1 (XG-1) prescription is a preventive formula recommended by the Hunan Provincial Administration of TCM to prevent the pandemic of COVID-19.

To explore the potential preventive mechanisms of XG-1 against COVID-19 in the combination of network pharmacology approach, single-cell RNA expression profiling analysis, molecular docking and retrospective study.

Encyclopedia of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ETCM) database was used to determine the meridian tropism, active components and target genes of XG-1. Gene ontology (GO) analysis and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) functional enrichment analysis were conducted by R Cluster Profiler package (3.14.3). Andrographis paniculata (Burm.f.) Nees is a medicinal herb of the Asian countries used in many traditional medicinal systems for the treatment of diarrhea, flu, leprosy, leptospirosis, malaria, rabies, upper respiratory infections, sinusitis, syphilis, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS etc. AIM OF THE STUDY This review aims to provide the comprehensive, accurate and authentic information on traditional uses, phytochemistry and pharmacological properties of various extracts/fractions as well as phytocostituents of A. paniculata. In addition, this review also aims to provide advance and sensitive analytical methods along with chemical markers used in the standardization of herbal products for quality control (QC)/quality assurance (QA).

This work is purposed to investigate the pharmacological effects and mechanism of total flavonoids from Elaeagnus pungens leaves (FLA) on asthma in vivo and vitro.

Female BALB/c mice were sensitized by intraperitoneal injection of OVA with aluminum hydroxide and intranasal challenged with OVA. After treatment with FLA (10, 20mg/kg p.o.), the behaviors of mice were observed by score evaluation. Enumeration of total cells and OVA-specific IgE assay in the blood were measured as well as enumeration of total cells and cytokines assay in the BALF. Furthermore, histopathological analysis was performed by HE staining. The Dang-Gui-Si-Ni (DGSN) decoction as a classic prescription has been widely used for thousands of years in the clinical practice of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Especially in recent years, the potential efficacy of TCM for the treatment of Raynaud's syndrome has attracted great attention as there are still no specific remedies for this disease. However, the active constituents and underlying mechanisms responsible for the therapeutic benefits are not well understood, which makes it difficult to ensure quality control or to design research and drug development strategies. To identify the potential pharmacodynamic ingredients (PPIs) of TCM will help to achieve suitable process control procedures for industrial production and large-scale manufacturing.

In the present study, we propose a multi-dimensional qualitative analysis method combining water-decoction spectra, in-vitro intestinal absorption spectra, in-vivo plasma spectra, and molecular docking of components to quickly identify the PPIs for thcking studies to establish a multi-dimensional qualitative analysis method of the DGSN decoction. Meanwhile, 9 compounds in DGSN decoction were identified as PPIs using this method, and are proposed for application as quality standards for complex TCM prescriptions.

We conducted two systematic review and meta-analyses of population-based studies providing data on these associations. We screened articles indexed in MEDLINE, Scopus, Embase, and PsycINFO up to August 2020. The first random-effects meta-analysis, based on 4,910,661 individuals from nine studies estimated an increased risk of cancer of any kind [RR = 1.24 (1.05-1.46); p less then 0.01], especially breast cancer [RR = 1.33 (1.15-1.55); p less then 0.01] in BD. The second random-effects meta-analysis, based on 2,606,187 individuals from five studies did not show increased risk of cancer in people with BD using lithium, and even suggested a small protective effect both in overall [RR = 0.94 (0.72-1.22); p = 0.66] and urinary cancer [RR = 0.93 (0.75-1.14); p = 0.48] although these findings did not reach statistical significance. The current evidence highlights that cancer risk is increased in individuals with BD, particularly breast cancer in women.
