The number of studies focused on the roles played by different types of lncRNAs in a variety of plant biological processes has markedly increased. These lncRNA roles involve plant vegetative and reproductive growth and responses to biotic and abiotic stresses. In this review, we examine the classification, mechanisms, and functions of lncRNAs and then emphasize the roles played by these lncRNAs in the communication between plants and the environment mainly with respect to the following environmental factors temperature, light, water, salt stress, and nutrient deficiencies. We also discuss the consensus among researchers and the remaining challenges and underscore the exciting ways lncRNAs may affect the biology of plants.

In particular, the use of the THz band for in-body and on-body communications has been gaining attention recently. By exploiting the accurate THz sensing and imaging capabilities, body-centric THz biomedical applications can transcend the limitations of molecular, acoustic, and radio-frequency solutions. In this paper, we study the use of the THz band for body-centric networks, by surveying works on THz device technologies, channel and noise modeling, modulation schemes, and networking topologies. We also promote THz sensing and imaging applications in the healthcare sector, especially for detecting zootonic viruses such as Coronavirus. We present several open research problems for body-centric THz networks.
Sleep problems are a common comorbidity for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and research in this area has a relatively long history. Within this review, we first outline historic patterns in the field of sleep and ASD. Second, we conducted a systematic update and coded these studies based on their alignment with historic patterns. Research on ASD and sleep over the past two decades has primarily focused on four principal areas (1) documenting the prevalence and types of sleep problems; (2) sleep problem treatment options and efficacy; (3) how sleep problems are associated with other behavioral, contextual, or biological elements; and (4) the impact of child sleep problems on families and care providers. The systematic update in this paper includes empirical studies published between 2018 and 2021 with terms for sleep and ASD within the title, keywords, or abstract.
In sum, 60 studies fit the inclusion/exclusion criteria and most fit within the historic patterns noted above. Notable differences included more global representation in study samples, studies on the impacts of COVID-19, and a growing body of work on sleep problems as an early marker of ASD. The majority of studies focus on correlates of sleep problems noting less optimal behavioral, contextual, and biological elements are associated with sleep problems across development for children with ASD.
Recommendations for future directions include continued expansion of global and age representation across samples, a shift toward more treatment and implementation science, and studies that inform our mechanistic understanding of how sleep and ASD are connected.

Motor (re)learning via technology-dependent therapy has the potential to complement traditional therapies available to older adults living with stroke after hospital discharge and increase therapy dose. To date, little is known about the feasibility of technology-dependent therapy in a home setting for this population.
To develop a technology-dependent therapy that provides mental and physical training for older adults with stroke and assess feasibility. Specifically we ask, "Can it work"?
Single group repeated measures.
13 participants, aged 18 years and over, were recruited over a six-month period. All participants had mild upper limb impairment following a stoke and were no longer receiving intensive rehabilitation. All participants received 18 days of technology-dependent therapy in their own home. Information was gathered on recruitment and retention, usability, and suitability of outcome measures.
11 participants completed the study. The recruitment rate (number recruited/number canvassed; 10. limb rehabilitation following stroke. The data suggest a definitive trial is feasible, additional strategies to improve recruitment should be considered. Outcome measures aligned with the residual motor function of participants are required.
Patients with heart failure face increased morbidity and mortality when infected with COVID-19. The objective of this study was to evaluate the outcomes of patients with Heart Failure (HF), Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs), or Heart Transplants (HTx) diagnosed with COVID-19 within an advanced HF practice.
Out of 2635 patients followed, 96 patients were diagnosed with COVID-19 between March 2020 and January 2021. Median hospital length of stay (LOS), requirement for mechanical ventilation (MV), and mortality rate were evaluated.
The distribution of COVID-19 among the 96 patients was HF=43 (45%), LVAD=16 (17%) and HTx=37 (38%). Among 43 HF patients, 5 (12%) died, 18 (42%) required hospitalization with an LOS of 7days, 5 (12%) required ICU and 4 (9%) required MV. Of the 16 LVAD patients, 2 (13%) died, 8 (50%) required hospitalization with an LOS of 11days, 3 (19%) required ICU and 3 (19%) required MV. Among 37 HTx patients, 7 (19%) died, 23 (62%) required hospitalization with an LOS of 9days, 6 (16%) required ICU and 6 (16%) required MV.

A 90-day mortality rate of 19% with HTx patients acquiring COVID-19 is ominous as is a mortality rate of 12% each for HF and LVAD patients. This clinical impact should serve as a reminder of unique challenges with these populations.
