Cheap Single Pushchairs
If you're on a tight budget and don't want a stroller that can double as a car seat carrier the Babyzen Yoyo is a good choice. It comes with a simple one-step foot brake that's flip-flop friendly.
It's also a breeze to push and feels solid when navigating kerbs or woodland pathways. Additionally, it's easy to fold.
1. Babyzen YOYO2
The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned its reputation as the ultimate stroller that is light, ideal for city dwellers as well jet-setters. This is thanks to its nimble maneuverability and fold that fits into the overhead luggage of an aeroplane. The most recent version features independent suspension on all four wheels made from Hytrel elastomer to 'perfectly navigate across all types of surfaces and terrain'.
The bent fabric bassinet, the base YOYO2 and the 6months of colour pack come together to create a stylish pushchair with a subtle elegant design. The frame's base weight is less than a kilo, and is so light you can lift it out of the box with just one hand.
It's also easy to attach or remove attachments, adaptors, or adaptors such as the hood, for instance, snaps on to the YOYO2 by clicking and is machine washable at 30 degrees to remove staining from rice cakes that have been smashed and half-dissolved carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram right from birth with the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted to a stroller from 6 months by clicking on the YOYO Connect additional chassis.
2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore
The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a great option for parents who are looking for a stroller that can be used in a variety of ways. It transforms from a stroller to wagon just by flipping the handle, meaning parents can choose which mode they prefer on their journey. The wagon can accommodate two or more children from 6 months up to 5 years, and it comes with a large storage basket to accommodate all of your on-the-go needs.
The Xplore also features dual canopies that turn from the front to the back, offering ample sun protection for all family members. It has a smaller footwell than other wagons. This isn't suitable for long trips or napping.
The frame on the Xplore is solid and sturdy however it doesn't have as much flex as some of the other wagons we have tested. It is also more difficult to fold than some of the competition and does not secure when folded. It is easy to move, however, and it can fit through narrow doors of 28 inches.
3. Delta Children LX Side by Side
This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great choice for parents looking for a secondary stroller that's priced reasonably. It earned an eye-catching score in our Strollers & Multiples test for weight and folded size, which means it's very light, compact when folded and easy to put into a trunk of a car or closet. It also comes with a multi-position reclining seat and a cup holder for the parent. Other important features include 360-degree shock absorbing front wheels, as well as two large hanging storage bags.
In our push and turn test it performed better than most of the other strollers that we tried, but it's not the most maneuverable on uneven terrain or through narrow doors. The sunshades on it were among the tiniest of strollers we tested. They only cover the top and do not have peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a significantly larger canopy.
It took us less than three minutes to put together the Delta with a standard manual. All of the components required tools. But, it's lacking certain essential features that we believe you should consider non-negotiable in a double stroller, for example, a larger basket and reclining seats that have adjustable leg rests.
4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1
The Zelia is the most recent version of Maxi-Cosi's pushchair range and is advertised as an urban travel system. It is designed to carry baby from birth up to around 3.5 years old, and can be converted between a seat and a carrycot with a few clicks. It can be used with Maxi-Cosi capsule car seats and comes with the light Mico 30 infant car seat, a stay-incar base, and a reversible car.
The seat reclines with one hand, and the large shopping basket makes it simple for parents to take their child in and out. This narrow pushchair handled every day bumps and doors with ease.
The front wheels can be locked into an forward position or let them swivel which can be helpful when crossing rough terrain. While walking along the stony path we allowed them to swivel and it handled this fairly well, though it did appear a little bumpier than others that we tested.
5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,
Baby Jogger is most well-known for its 3-wheeled, all-terrain strollers that jog. But they also produce a wide variety of pushchairs that have four wheels. single infant stroller is their most well-known model. It folds easily and fits in the car's boot even with the carrycot attached.
It weighs more than other strollers that we tested, but because it has composite wheels made of rubber, it feels sturdy and well-constructed. It is easy to maneuver on different terrains and even with two children as well as a shopping bag and other things.
Both the carrycot and seat have hoods that can be lowered to reveal a UV50+ sun canopy extension. They are waterproof and strong, unlike some other pram hoods that are whipped back into toddlers faces.
It doesn't have a lot of storage space, but it does have a large basket that's deep enough for a changing bag as well as plenty of food items. You can also connect it with a Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a traveling system for babies as big as 20 lb (car seat and adapters are sold separately). If you require a stroller that can be used on the road, then the City Tour 2 is an ideal choice.
6. Nuna Mixx Next
When the Nuna Mixx first appeared on the scene, it instantly captured the hearts of parents everywhere. It's a stroller made of aluminum that can see you through your baby's first years and beyond. It has a number of stand-out features including the ability to flip the seat to be parent-facing and world-facing, a large UPF 50+ canopy with an eye shade that flips out as well as a large basket and adjustable handlebar.
The chassis has a suspension system built-in which reduces the impact of bumpy terrain. The wheels are made from tough foam and minimise punctures. It was easy to push and our test driver was able manoeuvre the vehicle through tight streets.
It folds down in four easy steps, and locks automatically with no fuss. It can also be folded and raised for easier transport down the stairs or in the trunk of the car. The travel system is available with the option of adding an additional car seat or carrycot by using the adaptors included. The brakes are only one action and are colour coded. They also are compatible with flip-flops.
7. Babyzen Duet
This budget pushchair is easy to use and comes with a great dual suspension. It folds by one hand and comes with a convenient carrying strap. It's also super lightweight and sturdy. The seat can be reclined to many different positions. It also comes with a double breathable mattress that's suitable for infants.
The canopy/seat has two large sun visors that are fixed or removed. Both are UPF50+. However the toggle closure isn't perfect because it's not as quiet as Velcro and may wake napping babies.
The Duet is an angled stroller that can accommodate twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seat and some carrycots. In twin mode seats, the seats can be positioned so that they face each one. They can also be set to face the parents. This should reduce sibling disputes over who gets seated with dad and mom. It comes with a large tray for gears as well as a bottle holder and snack tray. It also has a compact stand fold and automatic frame lock.
8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2
The Thule Urban Glide 2 is a jogger for parents who love to be active. It's one of the lightest strollers for running that you can purchase for your child. It also has great safety features, including a 5-point safety harness as well as a wrist safety strap. It comes with a different kind of hand brake that is different from other models, which is an innovative twist.
The seat is comfortable and offers a large area to sit in, however the depth of the seat is less than other joggers that we've tested (it's approximately 10"). The storage bin is equipped with an enclosed zipper to help keep items secure. It can hold up to 10lbs which is sufficient for most diaper bags.
The Urban Glide 2 doesn't come with adapters that will fit the majority of bassinets and infant car seats, but you can use them from the first day with adapters that will fit brands such as BOB, Graco Combi Evenflo Britax UPPAbaby. It folds down compactly and takes between 5 and 10 minutes to assemble with no tools. The manual is easy to read and contains a variety of languages.
