The last decade has seen a boom in hip arthroscopy with refined indications. Improved understanding of pathoanatomy and disease progression has allowed for the development of advanced techniques. Labral reconstruction has been developed to substitute a non-functional or absent labrum. It has become an important technique in the armamentarium of high-volume arthroscopic hip surgeons.

The anionic (SO4-2, NO3-, Cl-, F-, and HCO3-) and cationic (Ca+2, Mg+2, K+, NH4+, and Na+) concentrations showed regional differences in yearly contribution mainly from the fossil fuel combustion, soil dust, and farm residue burning. The rainwater analysis showed low dissolved ions at SCTK (Sheikh Chilli's Tomb, Kurukshetra) compared to KBMP (Kabuli Bagh Mosque, Panipat). The mean concentration of SO4-2 was 1.5 times higher than the NO3- apportioning the sulfate as a dominant acidifying constituent in rainwater. Pearson's correlation and principal component analysis (PCA) showed terrestrial and marine origins of dissolved ions in the rainwater. The Na-normalized molar ratios and the analysis of sea salt and non-sea salt fractions indicate the dominance of non-marine contributions in the precipitation. However, without adequate protective infrastructure that provides thermally comfortable conditions for public transit riders, it can be challenging to reach these goals in hot climates. We took micrometeorological measurements and surveyed riders about their perceptions of heat and heat-coping behaviors at bus stops with a variety of design attributes in Phoenix, AZ, USA, during the summer of 2018. We identified the design attributes and coping behaviors that made riders feel cooler. We observed that current infrastructure standards and material choices for bus stops in Phoenix are insufficient to provide thermal comfort, and can even expose riders to health risks. Almost half of the study participants felt hot or very hot at the time they were surveyed, and more than half reported feeling thermally uncomfortable. Drones have been suggested to support field surveyors allowing more accurate mapping with just-in-time aerial imagery. Furthermore, object-based image analysis tools could increase the accuracy of species maps. However, only few studies compare species distribution maps resulting from traditional field surveys and object-based image analysis using drone imagery. We acquired drone imagery for a saltmarsh area (18 ha) on the Hallig Nordstrandischmoor (Germany) with patches of Elymus athericus, a tall grass which encroaches higher parts of saltmarshes. A field survey was conducted afterwards using the drone orthoimagery as a baseline. We used object-based image analysis (OBIA) to segment CIR imagery into polygons which were classified into eight land cover classes. Finally, we compared polygons of the field-based and OBIA-based maps visually and for location, area, and overlap before and after post-processing. OBIA-based classification yielded good results (kappa = 0.937) and agreed in general with the field-based maps (field = 6.29 ha, drone = 6.22 ha with E. athericus dominance). Post-processing revealed 0.31 ha of misclassified polygons, which were often related to water runnels or shadows, leaving 5.91 ha of E. athericus cover. Overlap of both polygon maps was only 70% resulting from many small patches identified where E. athericus was absent. In sum, drones can greatly support field surveys in monitoring of plant species by allowing for accurate species maps and just-in-time captured very-high-resolution imagery.
When undergoing expanded carrier screening (ECS), couples are often screened sequentially to reduce need for a second individual's test. It is unknown how often partners of individuals found to be carriers complete the recommended testing with a sequential approach and what factors contribute to decision-making regarding partner testing. Additionally, the economic burden placed on individuals by ECS testing and its effect on partner testing has not been evaluated.
In part 1, all individuals at a university-affiliated reproductive endocrinology and infertility practice identified to be carriers of a recessively inherited mutation using the Counsyl/Foresight ECS were included. Conditions were categorized by severity according to a previously described classification system. In part 2, all individuals who underwent ECS with a single test provider between September 1, 2013 and February 1, 2020 were contacted via email to complete a confidential and anonymized online survey.

To evaluate the complications of new users' vaginal pessaries (VP), with and without the use of vaginal estrogen after a 6-month follow-up.
A parallel, single-blinded, randomized, controlled trial. Symptomatic postmenopausal women (n = 98) with pelvic organ prolapse (POP) (stage 3/4) were recruited from August 2018 to October 2019. Patients were randomized into the local estrogen group (promestriene 3 × for a week) and the control group (no estrogen). They were evaluated for their vaginal symptoms at the baseline, after 3months, and after 6months, and a physical examination and vaginal sampling for microbiological analysis were done. Data were analyzed according to an intention-to-treat analysis (ITT). A 5% significance level was established for statistical analysis.
Twenty women discontinued treatment (20.4%), mainly due to pessary extrusion (n= 15) and 5 for other reasons (lost to follow-up, pain, and surgery). Baseline characteristics were not statistically different between the estrogen and control groups. Regarding the presence of complications, the presence of erosion was 10% in the control group, but there was no significant difference between the groups (p= 0.175) after 6months. Bacterial vaginosis (BV) was more prevalent in the control group, according to the Nugent (p= 0.007) and Amsel (p= 0.014) criteria. Urinary urgency and increased urinary frequency were significantly improved in the estrogen group after 6months.

It is therefore adamant to have a reliable surgical grading system, balancing these important factors. This study systematically reviews the literature in order to identify and assess the quality of grading systems with regard to microsurgical bAVM treatment. A systematic literature review was performed to provide an overview of all available bAVM grading systems relevant for microsurgical treatment evaluation and to assess the most comprehensive grading system specifically for each subgroup of bAVM (i.e., unruptured, ruptured, and posterior fossa). Screening of 865 papers revealed thirteen grading systems for bAVM microsurgical risk stratification. Among them, two systems were specifically developed for ruptured bAVM and one specifically for posterior fossa bAVM. With one system being fundamentally different for supratentorial bAVM, the remaining nine systems used the same parameters "size," "eloquence," "venous drainage," "arterial feeders," "age," "nidus compactness," and "hemorrhagic presentation".
