96 seconds); however, this difference was not significant (p = .53). Experts' median total OSCE score (14) was significantly higher (p = .03) than novices' (12), supporting the model's construct validity. Participants agreed on the face and content validity of the model by grading all survey questions greater than 7 on a 10-point Likert-type scale. In summary, we successfully developed a 3D printed model of an equine cervical articular process joint, partially demonstrated the construct validity of the model, and proved the face and content validity of this new training tool.Introduction To understand the current practices in stroke evaluation, the main clinical decision support system and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies need to be understood to assist the therapist in obtaining better insights about impairments and level of activity and participation in persons with stroke during rehabilitation. click here Methods This scoping review maps the use of AI for the functional evaluation of persons with stroke; the context involves any setting of rehabilitation. Data were extracted from CENTRAL, MEDLINE, EMBASE, LILACS, CINAHL, PEDRO Web of Science, IEEE Xplore, AAAI Publications, ACM Digital Library, MathSciNet, and arXiv up to January 2021. The data obtained from the literature review were summarized in a single dataset in which each reference paper was considered as an instance, and the study characteristics were considered as attributes. The attributes used for the multiple correspondence analysis were publication year, study type, sample size, age, stroke phase, stroke type, functional status, AI type, and AI function. Results Forty-four studies were included. The analysis showed that spasticity analysis based on ML techniques was used for the cases of stroke with moderate functional status. The techniques of deep learning and pressure sensors were used for gait analysis. Machine learning techniques and algorithms were used for upper limb and reaching analyses. The inertial measurement unit technique was applied in studies where the functional status was between mild and severe. The fuzzy logic technique was used for activity classifiers. Conclusion The prevailing research themes demonstrated the growing utility of AI algorithms for stroke evaluation. Background Myocardial bridging is largely considered to be a benign, symptomless congenital anomaly of the coronary arteries in which the intramyocardial coronary course is partially 'tunnelled' and leads to vessel compression during ventricular systole. There are few data regarding children. Objective To report on myocardial bridging observed in children seeking medical help in the paediatric emergency room.Case presentation A series of four children aged 6-13 years with symptomatic myocardial bridging but no other underlying cardiac abnormalities is reported. They were admitted to the paediatric emergency department during 2013-2016, three with chest pain after physical activity and one with septic shock. Results Heart computed tomography scan in the first three demonstrated myocardial bridging of the left anterior descendent coronary artery's branches; their 2-year follow-up was uneventful. The fourth patient presented with ventricular fibrillation 24 hours after admission and at autopsy there was an intramyocardial tract 4 cm long on the left anterior descendent coronary artery. Conclusions This case series demonstrates that myocardial bridging can be symptomatic in children with no underlying cardiac disorders and should be included in the differential diagnosis of exertional chest pain and/or arrhythmias.Abbreviations CRP, C-reactive protein; CT, computed tomography; D1, diagonal 1 artery; ECG, electrocardiogram; ED, emergency department; KD, Kawasaki disease; LAD, left anterior descending coronary artery; MB, myocardial bridging; RI, ramus intermedius artery; TN, troponin.Sepsis, resulting from a harmful or damaging response to infection, is a complex and severe disease that causes high mortality. Three independent expression profiles of miRNA - GSE94717, GSE149764, and GSE101639 - were collected and integrated to analyze miRNAs associated with sepsis. One miRNA, miR-223-3p, was detected significantly downregulated in patients with sepsis. The upregulated miR-223-3p target genes in patients with sepsis were enriched in central carbon metabolism associated with HIF-1 signaling and galactose metabolism. Specially, three HIF-1 signaling genes - hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (HIF1A), hexokinase 2 (HK2), and MAP kinase-interacting serine/threonine-protein kinase 1 (MKNK1) - were found significantly upregulated in patients with sepsis. Additionally, MKNK1 expression was downregulated in septic responders to early therapeutic treatments. Neutrophils were significantly accumulated in patients with sepsis and decreased in responders after therapy; MKNK1 was significantly positively correlated with neutrophils. Our findings indicate MKNK1, one targets of miR-223-3p, might be involved in sepsis via regulating the neutrophils abundance by mediating the expression inflammation factors. Background In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) systems have received guidelines as part of coordinated response efforts aimed at mitigating exposures and ensuring occupational wellbeing, including recommendations of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) utilization, and modifications of Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) caller queries. The aim of the study was to estimate the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV) and negative predictive value (NPV) of an EMD telephone screening process for the identification of hospital diagnosed COVID-19 positive patients. Methods A retrospective cohort study was conducted of adult EMS encounters presenting to hospitals within a large health system from March 16-June 30, 2020. EMD telephone screening status was defined as either "positive" or "negative" and was collected from prehospital medical records. COVID-19 positive patients were confirmed via hospital laboratory diagnosis and were matched to their prehospital medicald revise guidelines and recommendations, specifically modified caller queries, as part of ongoing pandemic emergency response efforts in order to reduce transmissions and maximize patient and provider safety.
