This study provides the first insight into an underlying monogenic aetiology in non-obese females with GDM from an island population having a high prevalence of diabetes. It suggests that monogenic variants constitute an underestimated cause of diabetes detected in pregnancy, and that careful evaluation of GDM probands to identify monogenic disease subtypes is indicated.

However, the bulk photovoltaic effect (BPVE) in ferroelectrics promotes the independent separation of photoexcited carriers. Herein, by dimensionality reconstruction of a pure-two-dimensional (P-2D) monolayered perovskite (CH3 OC3 H9 N)2 PbBr4 , we obtained a quasi-two-dimensional (Q-2D) ferroelectric (CH3 OC3 H9 N)2 CsPb2 Br7 . Converting P-2D into Q-2D perovskite stimulates a significant BPVE associated with robust ferroelectricity, as well as an enhanced mobility lifetime product. These features show the promise of the fabrication of the first passive X-ray detector based on ferroelectrics with an impressive sensitivity up to 410 μC Gy-1 cm-2 at zero bias, which is even superior to the value of the state-of-the-art α-Se detector operated at relatively high bias. The p-type or n-type redox reactions of organics are being used as the reversible electrodes to build the next-generation rechargeable batteries with sustainable and tunable characteristics. However, the n-type organics that store cations generally exhibit low potential ( less then 0.8 V vs. Zn/Zn2+ ), while the p-type organics that store anions suffer from limited capacity ( less then 100 mAh g-1 ). Herein, we demonstrate that bis(phenylamino)phenothiazin-5-ium iodide (PTD-1) containing both n-type and p-type redox moieties exhibits a hybrid charge storage mechanism (n/p-type at low potential, p-type at high potential). Such a hybrid mechanism combines the advantages of n- and p-type reactions and compensates for the associated drawbacks of each. Accordingly, the aqueous Zn//PTD-1 full cell shows a high voltage (1.8 Vmaximum or 1.1 Vaverage ), a high capacity 188.24 mAh gPTD-1 -1 (achieved at 40 mA g-1 ), a long-life and a supercapacitor-like high power. These results shed new light on the design of advanced organic electrodes.
Little is known about the link between obesity and loneliness as well as perceived social isolation. Therefore, the objective of this longitudinal study is to clarify whether the onset and the end of obesity is associated with changes in perceived social isolation as well as loneliness (stratified by sex) in older age.
Longitudinal data were used from wave 5 (year 2014) and 6 (year 2017) of the German Ageing Survey - a nationally representative sample of community-dwelling individuals aged ≥40 years in Germany. Established tools were used to quantify loneliness and perceived social isolation. A body mass index ≥30 kg/m
was used to classify individuals as being obese. Asymmetric fixed effects regressions were used.
Regressions showed that the end of obesity was associated with decreases in perceived social isolation among women (β=-0.24, P=0.01), but not in men (with significant sex differences). The onset of obesity was not associated with changes in perceived social isolation. Neither the beginning of obesity nor the end of obesity was associated with changes in loneliness.
Our findings emphasize the importance of overcoming obesity for women in the second half of life. As most of the existing studies were conducted in Germany, studies from other countries are of importance to understand this association better. Geriatr Gerontol Int 2021; 21 836-841.

It remains unknown whether PYO leads to autophagy in macrophages by regulating histone acetylation. The high mobility group nucleosomal binding domain 2 (HMGN2) has been reported to regulate the PYO-induced autophagy and oxidative stress in the epithelial cells; however, the underlying molecular mechanism has not been fully elucidated. In this study, PYO was found to induce autophagy in macrophages, and the mechanism might be correlated with the up-regulation of HMGN2 acetylation (HMGN2ac) and the down-regulation of H3K27 acetylation (H3K27ac) by modulation of the activities of acetyltransferases and deacetylases. Moreover, we further demonstrated that the up-regulated HMGN2ac enhances its recruitment to the Ulk1 promoter, while the down-regulation of H3K27ac reduces its recruitment to the Ulk1 promoter, thereby promoting or inhibiting the transcription of Ulk1. In conclusion, HMGN2ac and H3K27ac play regulatory roles in the PYO-induced autophagy in macrophages. The unique applications of porous metal-organic framework (MOF) liquids with permanent porosity and fluidity have attracted significant attention. However, fabrication of porous MOF liquids remains challenging because of the easy intermolecular self-filling of the cavity or the rapid settlement of porous hosts in hindered solvents that cannot enter their pores. Herein, we report a facile strategy for the fabrication of a MOF liquid (Im-UiO-PL) by surface ionization of an imidazolium-functionalized framework with a sterically hindered poly(ethylene glycol) sulfonate (PEGS) canopy. The Im-UiO-PL obtained in this way has a CO2 adsorption approximately 14 times larger than that of pure PEGS. see more Distinct from a porous MOF solid counterpart, the stored CO2 in Im-UiO-PL can be slowly released and efficiently utilized to synthesize cyclic carbonates in the atmosphere. This is the first example of the use of a porous MOF liquid as a CO2 storage material for catalysis. It offers a new method for the fabrication of unique porous liquid MOFs with functional behaviors in various fields of gas adsorption and catalysis.
