Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a global pandemic caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2). There is no specific cure for this disease, and the clinical management mainly depends on supportive treatment. This disease may affect SARS-CoV-2 conjunctivitis. Yuxingcao eye drops is used in treating COVID-19 conjunctivitis in China.

A comprehensive literature search will be conducted. Two methodological trained researchers will read the title, abstract, and full texts and independently select the qualified literature according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. After assessment of the risk of bias and data extraction, we will conduct meta-analyses for outcomes related to COVID-19 conjunctivitis. The heterogeneity of data will be investigated by Cochrane X and I tests. Then publication bias assessment will be conducted by funnel plot analysis and Egger test.

The results of our research will be published in a peer-reviewed journal.

Our study aims to systematically present the clinical evidence of Yuxingcao eye drops in treating COVID-19 conjunctivitis, which will be of significant meaning for further research and clinical practice.

The purpose of this meta-analysis is to compare the efficacy and safety of aspirin and rivaroxaban in the prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE) following either total knee arthroplasty or total hip arthroplasty.

A comprehensive literature search of several electronic databases (PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science) was conducted to identify relevant studies. Outcomes of interest included VTE rate, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) rate, pulmonary embolism rate, major bleeding events, mortality rate, blood transfusion, and wound complication. Risk ratio (RR) with 95% confidence intervals (95%CIs) were calculated using a fixed-effects model or random-effects model.

A total of 8 studies with 97,677 patients met the inclusion criteria and were included in this meta-analysis. Compared with rivaroxaban, aspirin had a significantly higher incidence of DVT (RR = 1.48, 95%CI 1.27, 1.72; P < .001), and decreased risk of blood transfusion (RR = 0.94, 95%CI 0.93, 0.94; P < .001). However, there were no significant differences between the 2 drugs in terms of total VTE rate (RR = 1.39%, 95%CI 0.94, 2.05; P = .101), pulmonary embolism rate (RR = 1.64, 95%CI 0.92, 2.92; P = .094), mortality rate (RR = 1.13, 95%CI 0.15, 8.27; P = .907), major bleeding (RR = 1.00, 95%CI 0.44, 2.27; P = .995), and wound complication rate (RR = 0.37, 95%CI 0.07, 1.87; P = .229).

Our results suggested that aspirin and rivaroxaban offered similar effect in the prevention of VTE after total knee arthroplasty or total hip arthroplasty. However, rivaroxaban seemed to have better effect than aspirin in reducing the risk of DVT, and aspirin was safer than rivaroxaban in decreasing the blood transfusion rate.

Insulinoma is usually an isolated benign tumor and small in size ( less then 2 cm). Due to the small size of the lesion, it often leads to difficulty in clinical preoperative localization diagnosis. However, we have unexpectedly discovered that the diffusion-weighted-imaging (DWI) adds great value in the preoperative localization diagnosis of insulinoma in non-invasive examination technique. We verified using operative pathology data and retrospectively analyzed the clinical and imageology findings of 5 cases who reported to have an insulinoma. All the 5 cases underwent DWI examination, among non-contrast enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in 1 case, contrast-enhanced MRI in 4 cases.Five cases of DWI showed a nodular high signal less then 1.3 cm with pancreatic tail in 3 cases, pancreatic neck, and pancreatic head in 1 case each, respectively. Non-contrast enhanced MRI showed suspicious abnormal signals in the tail of the pancreas were detected in 1 case. MRI enhanced scans presented 2 cases with abnormal enhancement in the arterial phase and 2 cases without abnormal enhancement in arterial phase. Also, 3 cases showed mild persistence enhanced in the portal venous phase and delayed phase. However, 1 case remained normal in the portal venous phase and the delay period.DWI examination has high clinical value in the localization diagnosis of insulinoma and thus it can be used as a routine examination for preoperative localization diagnosis.

Craniopharyngioma is the most challenging brain tumor with a high recurrence rate. Some scholars have shown that endoscopic endonasal approach (EEA) can achieve a higher total tumor resection rate and significantly reduce the incidence of complications and mortality. However, there is still no consensus on the surgical approach for recurrent craniopharyngioma. selleck products The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of EEA in the treatment of recurrent craniopharyngioma.

We will search 7 electronic databases (PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, the Cochrane Library, PsycINFO, AMED, Scopus) to collect related randomized controlled trials (RCTs). The resection rate, recurrence rate and progression-free survival rate will be regarded as the primary outcome, and the incidence of complications will be regarded as the secondary outcome. Endnote Software X9.0 will be used to filter articles, Review Manager Software 5.2 and STATA software 16.0 will be used for analysis and synthesis.

We will integrate existing studies to assess the safety and efficacy of EEA in the treatment of recurrent craniopharyngioma.

Our study will provide EEA as an effective and safe treatment for recurrent craniopharyngioma.
