In the present research, the kaolin adsorbents (beneficiated, raw powder, and calcined) were prepared from Ethiopian natural kaolin through mechanical, wet, and thermal processes. The geochemical and surface properties of kaolin adsorbent were characterized using FTIR, SEM/EDS, XRD, and XRF. In the batch experiment, basic operation parameters (initial dye concentrations, pH, temperature, contact time, and adsorbent dosage) were examined. Percentage removal efficiency basic yellow 28 (BY28) dye were recorded as 94.79%, 92.08%, and 87.08% onto beneficiated, raw, and calcined kaolin absorbents, respectively at an initial dye concentration of 20 mg/L, solution pH of 9, the temperature of 30 °C °C , and contact time of 60 min and adsorbent dosage of 1g/100L. The molar ratio of SiO2/Al2O3 was recorded as 2.911 Percent mass composition of Ethiopian kaolin which is higher than the expected pure kaolinite standard which allows us to classify the kaolin clay as a siliceous one. The calculated values of Δ G 0 for benefiin adsorbents was found as 1.896, 1.842, and 1.742 mg/g, respectively at a contact time of 1.0 h, the adsorbent dosage of 1.0 g, initial dye concentration = 20 mg/L and solution pH = 9 at 30 °C. The results found that these raw and prepared local kaolin adsorbents have a capacity as low-cost alternatives for the removal of dyes in industrial wastewater.Gamification, recently considered as a science, takes advantage of the benefits of games to induce desirable behaviors in a given "normal" activity. When applied in education, it is an approach to motivate and engage students in their learning process by incorporating game design principles. The ecological risks in the exploitation of the wild endemic medicinal plant resources are exacerbated by a myriad of agrotechnological risks and challenges that highly constrain their domestication. Successful exploitation and commercialisation of medicinal plants thus require a clear understanding of their demand and production systems or value chain analysis. Accordingly there is need for innovative approaches towards their integration into global value chains. Since quality and safety, traceability, certification, as well as consumer tastes and preferences are critical drivers in purchasing decisions by global consumers, they are inadvertently exploited to weaken Indigenous knowledge (IK), undermine common property rights and entrench value chains that favour a few elite buyers. This tend to create pervasive incentives for overexploitation of medicinal plant resources and environmental degradation. Potential solution lies in the recognition of drivers of vulnerability to environmental degradation and the innovative use of policy bricolage, feedback loops and interactions between knowledge, power and agency on one hand, and collective action and property rights institutions on the other hand. We conceptualise a framework that can mediate a transformational agenda and enhance systematic understanding of sustainability lenses in endemic medicinal plant resources value chains. Hence, this pioneering study aimed to analyze the interdependencies of the bio-edaphic ecosystem during carbon sequestration on a national highway in Guwahati, Assam, India. To quantify the tree carbon stock, soil physicochemical properties, soil nutrients, bulk density, organic carbon, and soil carbon stock, trees with diameters at breast height (dbh) ≥ 2 cm and soil samples from different depths (0-15 cm, 15-30 cm, and 30-45 cm) were taken from six areas spread over 36 plots of equal size (2 × 10 m) arranged in a zig-zag manner. selleck chemicals The studied parameters were compared among the different areas. However, for aromatic compounds that have substituent groups, withdrawers or donors of electron, there are no data in the literature to explain their rotational barriers. In this context, the work studied the internal rotational barriers of electron donating and withdrawing groups in aromatic compounds using the MP3, MP4, and CCSD(T) methods and the influence of substituents' nature on barrier heights was investigated through calculations based on the theory of Natural Bond Orbitals (NBO) and Quantum Theory of Atoms in Molecules (QTAIM). The results obtained showed that the CCSD(T) method is the one that best describes the internal rotational barriers, followed by MP4 and MP3 and the electron donating groups decrease the barrier, whereas electron withdrawing groups increase. Through the NBO analysis it was possible to observe that for withdrawing groups the interaction of the molecular orbitals is more accentuated promoting the increase of the rotational barrier of these compounds. Through the QTAIM analysis it was possible to show that, for electron donating groups, the internal rotation is influenced by the loss of electronic density when the substituents is perpendicular to the ring plane, however, for withdrawing groups the density is little influenced, regardless of the two conformations (minimum and maximum energy).
