Bone marrow infiltration of lymphoma cells is a candidate risk factor for infusion-related reactions (IRRs) in patients with CD20-positive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL). However, despite with the lack of sufficient data, the effect of bone marrow infiltration of B-NHL cells on the incidence rate of grade 2 or higher IRRs with the administration of rituximab has been retrospectively studied in this paper.

Patients with CD20-positive B-NHL who received the rituximab induction therapy for the first time were enrolled in this study. To evaluate the bone marrow infiltration of B-NHL cells, May-Giemsa stain of bone marrow films and flow cytometry examination of bone marrow aspiration samples were performed. IRR grade was determined using the IRR criteria in the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events version 4.0.

A total of 127 patients were eligible for this study. Grade 2 or higher IRRs were observed in 43 (34%) patients. In univariate analysis, use of glucocorticoid before rituximab infusion was a strong risk-avoiding factor for grade 2 or higher IRRs. Advanced stage of disease (Ann Arbor stages III and IV) or bone marrow infiltration of B-NHL cells revealed the risk factors, regardless of glucocorticoid premedication. Using multivariate analysis, bone marrow infiltration was found to be an independent risk factor for patients without prior glucocorticoid use.

Improved knowledge of anatomy, technique, and technology combined with adequate experience with careful planning of surgical technique can avoid all the possible complications. Aim To compare open reduction and internal fixation with closed reduction and maxillomandibular fixation in the management of condylar fractures. Materials and method A prospective study was carried out among 22 patients who had minimally displaced or displaced condylar fractures. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced dental clinics to shut down indefinitely, leaving thousands of orthodontic patients in unending fear and dismay. The study aimed to assess the attitude, perceptions and mental health status of patients undergoing orthodontic treatment in Saudi Arabia during the lockdown.

A cross-sectional study was conducted among orthodontic patients of different clinics across Saudi Arabia and selected using two-stage clustered sampling. A validated Arabic questionnaire comprising four sections including demographic data, patients' interactions, attitude and perception, and Kessler Psychological Distress Scale was sent via digital means. Descriptive and inferential statistics were applied with the level of significance set to p<0.05.

In this context, as an exercise-mimetic hormone, irisin have a potential to improve obesity-related reproductive dysfunctions. We aimed to elucidate possible effects of irisin on high-fat diet (HFD)-induced reproductive dysfunction in obese male rats.

Rats were divided into four groups vehicle, irisin, obese, and obese+irisin. The rats in obese and obese+irisin groups were fed with HFD (60% kcal fat) pellets for 12 weeks to induce obesity, and then obesity-induced sexual dysfunction was confirmed by sexual behavior test (SBT). Irisin and obese+irisin groups received irisin (100 ng/kg/day) infusion by s.c. osmotic-minipump for 4-weeks after HFD-induced obesity was formed.

Irisin did improve a number of measures of copulation, including penile erection, ejaculation, and sexual performance, and also improved sperm morphology and motility, and decreased fat-induced testicular damage.
