ignificantly, and the infiltration of a large number of CD68+ macrophages was observed in the lesions. PF promoted SOCS3 expression in RAW 264.7 cells and inhibited the LPS-induced increase in toll-like receptor 2 and LL37 expression through the ASK1-p38 cascade, thereby alleviating the macrophage-related rosacea-like inflammatory response. These changes could be abrogated by SOCS3 siRNA in vitro. In conclusion, the pathogenesis of rosacea involves abnormal macrophage infiltration within the lesions. PF inhibits the macrophage-related rosacea-like inflammatory response through the SOCS3-ASK1-p38 pathway, demonstrating its potential application as a novel drug for rosacea therapy.
To assess expression levels of Ephrin type-A receptor 2 (EphA2), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and von Willebrand factor (vWF), and assess their potentials as prognostic biomarkers to predict the risk of poor survival in patients with primary lower grade glioma.
The study included75 patients with histopathologically confirmed primary glioma (World Health Organization Grade IV). All patients underwent combined surgery and postoperative radiotherapy for the management of primary glioma. Immuno-histochemical analysis was performed to evaluate expression levels ofEphA2 and VEGF. Evaluation of tumor microvessel density was also performed at angiogenesis hot spots due to tumor growth. Main outcomes of the study were the prognostic efficiencies of EphA2, VEGF, and vWF in primary low-grade glioma, as well as whether their expression levels were associated with cancer progression.
Of the patients with glioma, 67% had very strong expression of EphA2. Overall survival was inversely correlated with the expression of EphA2. Regarding VEGF expression, 38 patients (51%) had strong expression, 29 patients (39%) had weak expression, and 8 patients (11%) had no expression. Strong VEGF expression was associated with poor prognosis and poor survival.
EphA2, VEGF, and vWF could be considered prognostic markers for assessment of primary glioma.

About 5% to 20% of the general population suffers from continuous fatigue, which is also one of the most frequent symptoms seen in primary medical care. Fatigue, if not effectively relieved, may have an adverse effect on the quality of life and treatment of patients. Qigong is a safe and comfortable exercise popular in China and among the Ethnic Chinese, and is a complementary therapy used to treat fatigue, such as cancer related fatigue and chronic fatigue syndrome. It appears promising but lacks convincing evidence; thus, necessitating further investigation.
Eight databases (PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, China Biology Medicine disc, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, WanFang and VIP Data Knowledge Service Platform) will be searched from inception to November 30, 2020 for randomized controlled trials published in English or Chinese investigating the outcomes of the Qigong exercise (QE) for symptoms of fatigue and quality of life. We will also include additional references of relevant published studies by manually retrieving reference lists of included literature and previous relevant reviews. For articles that meet the inclusion criteria, 2 reviewers will independently conduct the study selection, data extraction, and risk of bias assessment. The results of the outcome measures will be reported in risk ratios for dichotomous data and standard mean differences for continuous data. If necessary, we will also perform subgroup analyses and analyze the causes.
The results of this review will be submitted to a journal for publication.
This systematic review protocol aims to analyze whether QE is effective in treating fatigue associated with various disease.

Electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy (ENB) combined with a radial endobronchial ultrasound probe realizes a combination of magnetic navigation and ultrasound imaging, allowing for the accurate navigation of peripheral lung lesions in real time during surgery. ENB has been evaluated in many studies. However, a comparative report on the feasibility of ENB combined radial endobronchial ultrasound diagnosis in different density lung nodules was small, and few of these studies have reported long-term follow-up results to exclude false negative results. The aim of this study is to explore the applicability of ENB combined radial endobronchial ultrasound in the diagnosis of lung nodules with different densities.Patients underwent biopsy in our medical center from 2016-09 to 2019-03 were divided into 2 groups the solid nodule group and the subsolid pulmonary nodule group. We collected and analyzed the diagnostic accuracy, the diagnostic yield, the false negative rate and the incidence of complications between 2 groups.A total of 37 lesions in 25 patients were biopsied, 14 lesions were subsolid pulmonary nodules and 23 were solid nodules. The diagnostic accuracy (success rate to obtain meaningful pathology tissues) was 34/37 (91.8%). Lost to follow-up in 1 case and three cases were undiagnosed. After at least 12 months of follow-up, the total diagnostic yield (true positive rate+ true negative rate) was 27/36 (75%) (P = .006). The false negative rate was 9/19 (47.3%) (P = .26). Complications occurred in 1/36 (2.7%) lesions. For the subsolid pulmonary nodule group, the diagnostic accuracy was 13/14 (92.8%) and the diagnostic yield was 7/14 (50%). find more For the solid nodule group, the diagnostic accuracy was 21/23 (91.3%), and the diagnostic yield was 20/22 (90.9%).Electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy combined with radial endobronchial ultrasound in peripheral lung nodule biopsies is safe and effective, especially for solid nodules, but the diagnostic yield in subsolid nodule biopsies remains to be improved.
Medial compartment femoro-tibial osteoarthritis (OA) is a common disease and opening-wedge high tibial osteotomy (OWHTO) is the common surgical procedure carried out for these patients. While most researchers are focusing on the surgical techniques during operation, the aim of this study is to evaluate the pain control effect of femoral nerve block (FNB) for OWHTO patients.
In this prospective, single-center, randomized controlled trial (RCT) study, 41 patients were operated on by OWHTO for OA during 2017 to 2018. Twenty of them (group A) accepted epidural anesthesia with FNB and 21 patients (group B) only had their single epidural anesthesia. All blocks were successful and all the 41 patients recruited were included in the analysis and there was no loss to follow-up or withdrawal. Systematic records of visual analog scores (VAS), quadriceps strength, mean number of times of patient-controlled intravenous analgesia (PCIA), using of additional opioids or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and ctively.Research registry, Researchregistry4792. This study aimed to evaluated the clinical impact of adding [11C] Pittsburgh compound-B (11C-PiB) PET for clinical diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) to Alzheimer's disease (AD) dementia.Twenty six (mean age 78.5 ± 5.18 years, 21 females) AD (n = 7), amnestic MCI (n = 12), non-amnestic MCI (n = 3), vascular dementia, progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) with frontotemporal dementia (FTD), FTD (n = 1 each), and normal (n = 1) patients underwent 11C-PiB-PET, MRI, and SPECT scanning. 11C-PiB-PET was compared with MRI and SPECT for clinical impact.11C-PiB-PET showed positivity in 6, 9, and 0 of the AD, amnestic MCI, and non-amnestic MCI patients, respectively, and 0 of those with another disease. Parahippocampal atrophy at VSASD was observed in 5 AD patients, 6 amnestic and PiB-positive MCI patients, 1 amnestic and PiB-negative MCI patient, and 1 vascular dementia patient. Parietal lobe hypoperfusion in SPECT findings was observed in 6, 4, and 2 of those, respectively, as well as 1 each of non-amnesti. 11C-PiB-PET accuracy was significantly higher than that of SPECT.11PiB-PET alone may be useful for selecting patients who will progress from MCI to AD in the future, although follow-up study is necessary to clarify the outcome of MCI patients.
Trisomy 9p is one of the most common chromosomal partial trisomies in newborns. However, reports on prenatal 9p microduplications are rare in the clinic. This study aimed to examine the genotype-phenotype correlation and assess the clinical significance of 9p24.3 microduplication encompassing the DOCK8 gene. Eight pregnant women underwent amniocentesis for cytogenetic and genetic testing for various indications for prenatal diagnosis from January 2019 to January 2020. Chromosomal karyotypic analysis was performed on G-band metaphases that were prepared from cultured amniotic fluid cells. Chromosomal microarray analysis was carried out to detect chromosomal copy number variations. We also performed a literature review on clinical data on similar 9p24.3 microduplications to determine the genotype-phenotype correlation. We detected 123-248-kb microduplications in the region of 9p24.3 (chr9 208454-469022), involving part of or the entire DOCK8 gene. The indications for prenatal diagnosis mainly focused on the rd for all fetuses, except for case 5 who presented with increased nuchal translucency in prenatal ultrasound findings. Follow-up of postnatal health was performed and showed no apparent abnormalities for cases 1 to 6 after birth. The parents of case 7 chose to terminate the pregnancy while the parents of case 8 chose to continue the pregnancy. We propose that 9p24.3 microduplications that encompass part of or the entire DOCK8 gene are variants that might be benign. However, further large-scale studies are necessary to evaluate the clinical pathogenicity. For prenatal cases with 9p24.3 microduplication, postnatal health and growth should be followed up and assessed regularly from childhood to adulthood.
Exercise has been believed to have positive effects on blood glucose control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. However, few medical evidences have been found to ascertain which type of exercise has the best effect on blood glucose control in diabetes and which type of exercise is more acceptable. The purpose of this study is to compare the effects and acceptability of different exercise modes on glycemic control in type 2 diabetes patients by using systematic review and network meta-analysis.
Relevant randomized controlled trial studies will be searched from PubMed, EMbase, CochraneCENTRAL, CNKI, VIP, and Chinese medical paper libraries. Primary outcome indicators glycosylated hemoglobin and dropout rate of the research (number of dropouts/numbers of initially enrolled subjects). Secondary outcome measures fasting blood glucose, body weight, total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglycerides (TG), diastolic pressure, systolic preention and enable clinicians, sports practitioners, and patients to choose more effective and suitable exercise methods.
