These results indicate that specific combinations of PRO/GEM may be used to induce cytotoxic effects in pancreatic tumor MIA PaCa-2 and PANC-1 cells, but have cytoprotective or no effects in HDFs.Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor inhibitors (EGFRi) are approved as therapeutic options in several solid tumors. Cutaneous papulopustular eruption is the most frequent cutaneous adverse-event (AE), usually treated with emollient or corticosteroids according to toxicity grade. Our study evaluated the efficacy and safety of a topical product containing polydatin, a glycosylated polyphenol, natural precursor of resveratrol showing anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative activities, for the prevention and treatment of skin papulopustular rash in EGFRi-treated patients. Forty oncologic patients treated with EGFRi were enrolled in two groups group-A, 20 patients with papulopustular AE, and group-B, 20 patients without cutaneous manifestations. The study consisted of twice-daily application of polydatin cream 1.5% (group-A) and 0.8% (group-B) for 6 months. In group-A patients, we observed at week 4 a remarkable improvement of skin manifestation and quality of life evaluated with National-Cancer-Institute-Common-Terminology-Criteria for Adverse-Events (NCI-CTCAE), Dermatology-Life-Quality-Index (DLQI) score and Visual-Analogue-Scale (VAS) pruritus, with a statistical significance of p less then 0.05. None of the patients of group-B developed skin AEs to EGFRi. No cutaneous AEs related to the polydatin product were reported in both groups. Polydatin can be a good topical aid for the prevention and management of papulopustular rash in cancer patients receiving EGFRi, also capable of improving cancer patients' quality of life.Graphene-thermoplastic polyurethane (G-TPU) composite films were fabricated by traditional blending method and tape casting process with commercial graphene sheets as functional fillers and TPU masterbatches of four different melting points as matrix, respectively. The effects of matrix on the distribution of graphene, the electrical conductivity, and infrared (IR) light thermal properties of the G-TPU composite films were investigated. The experimental results reveal that the characteristics of TPU has little influence on the electrical conductivity of the G-TPU composite films, although the four TPU solutions have different viscosities. However, under the same graphene mass content, the thermal conductivity of four G-TPU composite films with different melting points is significantly different. The four kinds of G-TPU composite films have obvious infrared (IR) thermal effect. There is little difference in the temperatures between the composite films prepared by TPU with melting a point of 100 °C, 120 °C, and 140 °C, respectively; however, when the content of graphene is less than 5 wt%, the temperature of the composite film prepared by TPU with a melting point of 163 °C is obviously lower than that of the other three composite films. The possible reason for this phenomenon is related to the structure of TPU.This manuscript presents a fully detailed methodology in order to identify the hydrodynamic parameters of a mini autonomous underwater vehicle (mini-AUV) and evaluate its performance using different controllers. read more The methodology consists of close-to-reality simulation using a Computed Fluid Dynamics (CFD) module of the ANSYS™ Workbench software, the processing of the data, obtained by simulation, with a set of Savistky-Golay filters; and, the application of the Least Square Method in order to estimate the hydrodynamic parameters of the mini-AUV. Finally, these parameters are considered to design the three different controllers that are based on the robot manipulators theory. Numerical simulations are carried out to evaluate the performance of the controllers. The anticancer activities of Withaferin-A (Wi-A) and Withanone (Wi-N) from Ashwagandha and Caffeic Acid Phenethyl Ester (CAPE) from honeybee propolis have been well documented. Here, we examined the binding potential of these natural compounds to inhibit the constitutive phosphorylation of epidermal growth factor receptors (EGFRs). Exon 20 insertion mutants of EGFR, which show resistance to various FDA approved drugs and are linked to poor prognosis of lung cancer patients, were the primary focus of this study. Apart from exon 20 insertion mutants, the potential of natural compounds to serve as ATP competitive inhibitors of wildtype protein and other common mutants of EGFR, namely L858R and exon19del, were also examined. The potential of natural compounds was compared to the positive controls such as erlotinib, TAS6417 and poziotinib. Similar to known inhibitors, Wi-A and Wi-N could displace and binds at the ATP orthosteric site of exon19del, L858R and exon20, while CAPE was limited to wildtype EGFR and exon 20 insertion mutants only. Moreover, the binding free energy of the natural drugs against EGFRs was also comparable to the positive controls. This computational study suggests that Wi-A and Wi-N have potential against multiple mutated EGFRs, warranting further in vitro and in vivo experiments. The super-resolution method has been widely used for improving azimuth resolution for radar forward-looking imaging. Typically, it can be achieved by solving an undifferentiable L1 regularization problem. The split Bregman algorithm (SBA) is a great tool for solving this undifferentiable problem. However, its real-time imaging ability is limited to matrix inversion and iterations. Although previous studies have used the special structure of the coefficient matrix to reduce the computational complexity of each iteration, the real-time performance is still limited due to the need for hundreds of iterations. In this paper, a superfast SBA (SFSBA) is proposed to overcome this shortcoming. Firstly, the super-resolution problem is transmitted into an L1 regularization problem in the framework of regularization. Then, the proposed SFSBA is used to solve the nondifferentiable L1 regularization problem. Different from the traditional SBA, the proposed SFSBA utilizes the low displacement rank features of Toplitz matrix, along with the Gohberg-Semencul (GS) representation to realize fast inversion of the coefficient matrix, reducing the computational complexity of each iteration from O(N3) to O(N2).
