However, the strong reducibility and high reactivity of lithium lead to low Coulombic efficiency when contacting oxidants, such as lithium polysulfide caused by the serious "shuttle effect" in lithium-sulfur batteries. Herein we design selectively permeable lithium-ion channels on lithium metal surface, which allow lithium ions to pass through by electrochemical overpotential, while the polysulfides are effectively blocked due to the much larger steric hindrance than lithium ions. The selective permeation of lithium ions through the channels is further elucidated by the molecular simulation and visualization experiment. Consequently, a prolonged cycle life of 75 cycles and high Coulombic efficiency of 99 % are achieved in a practical Li-S pouch cell with limited amounts of lithium and electrolyte, confirming the unique role the selective ion permeation plays in protecting highly reactive alkali metal anodes in working batteries.Cereal grain endosperms are an important source of human nutrition. Nuclear division in early endosperm development plays a major role in determining seed size; however, this development is not well understood. We identified the rice mutant endospermless 2 (enl2), which shows defects in the early stages of endosperm development. link2 These phenotypes arise from mutations in OsCTPS1 that encodes a cytidine triphosphate synthase (CTPS). Both wild-type and mutant endosperms were normal at 8 h after pollination (HAP). In contrast, at 24 HAP, enl2 endosperm had approximately 10-16 clumped nuclei while wild-type nuclei had increased in number and migrated to the endosperm periphery. Staining of microtubules in endosperm at 24 HAP revealed that wild-type nuclei were evenly distributed by microtubules while the enl2-2 nuclei were tightly packed due to their reduction in microtubule association. In addition, OsCTPS1 interacts with tubulins; thus, these observations suggest that OsCTPS1 may be involved in microtubule formation. OsCTPS1 transiently formed macromolecular structures in the endosperm during early developmental stages, further supporting the idea that OsCTPS1 may function as a structural component during endosperm development. Finally, overexpression of OsCTPS1 increased seed weight by promoting endosperm nuclear division, suggesting that this trait could be used to increase grain yield.Zbtb46 is a recently identified dendritic cell (DC)-specific transcription factor with poorly defined biology. Although Zbtb46 is highly expressed in conventional DCs, evidence also points to its presence in erythroid progenitors and endothelial cells suggesting that this factor might influence the early hematopoietic development. Here, we probe the effect of this transcription factor in embryonic stem cell (ESC)-derived blood cell progenitors using chemically inducible mouse cell lines. Unexpectedly, forced expression of this protein elicited a broad repressive effect at the early stage of ESC differentiation. Ectopic expression of Zbtb46 interfered with the mesoderm formation and cell proliferation was also negatively impacted. More importantly, reduced number of CD11b+ myeloid blood cells were generated from ESC-derived Flk1+ mesoderm cells in the presence of Zbtb46. Consistent with this finding, our gene expression profiling revealed that numerous myeloid and immune response related genes, including Irf8, exhibited lower expression in the Zbtb46-primed cells. Despite these repressive effects, however, Zbtb46 overexpression was associated with enhanced formation of erythroid blood cell colonies and increased adult hemoglobin (Hbb-b1) expression at the early phase of ESC differentiation. Moreover, elevated percent of CD105 (Endoglin) positive cells were detected in the Zbtb46-primed samples. A robust ligand-controlled regioselective thiocarbonylation of alkynes is developed. Utilizing boronic acid and 5-chlorosalicylic acid as the acid additive to in situ form 5-chloroborosalicylic acid (5-Cl-BSA), and bis(2-diphenylphosphinophenyl)ether (DPEphos) as the ligand, linear α,β-unsaturated thioesters were produced in a straightforward manner. Switching the ligand to tri(2-furyl)phosphine can turn the reaction selectivity to give branched products. Remarkably, this approach also represents the first example on thiocarbonylation of internal alkynes.Sluggish charge kinetics and low CO2 affinity seriously inhibit CO2 photoreduction. Herein, the synchronous promotion of charge separation and CO2 affinity of Bi4 Ti3 O12 is realized by coupling corona poling and surface I-grafting. Corona poling enhances ferroelectric polarization of Bi4 Ti3 O12 by aligning the domains direction, which profoundly promotes charge transfer along opposite directions across bulk. Surface I-grafting forms a surface local electric field for further separating charge carriers and provides abundant active sites to enhance CO2 adsorption. The two modifications cooperatively further increase the ferroelectric polarization of Bi4 Ti3 O12 , which maximize the separation efficiency of photogenerated charges, resulting in an enhanced CO production rate of 15.1 μmol g-1 h-1 (nearly 9 times) with no sacrificial agents or cocatalysts. This work discloses that ferroelectric polarization and surface ion grafting can promote CO2 photoreduction in a synergistic way.
While increasingly discussed in somatic care, the concept of patient participation remains unsettled in psychiatric care, potentially impeding person-centred experiences.
To describe outpatient psychiatric care patients' conceptualization of patient participation.
An exploratory survey.
Patients in four psychiatric outpatient care units.
Patients conceptualized patient participation by completing a semi-structured questionnaire, including optional attributes and free text. Data were analysed using statistics for ordinal data and content analysis for free text.
In total, 137 patients (69% of potential respondents) completed the questionnaire. The discrete items were favoured for conceptualizing patient participation, indicating a primary connotation that participation means being listened to, being in a reciprocal dialogue, learning about one's health care and managing one's symptoms. Additional free-text responses acknowledged the attributes previously recognized, and provided supplementary notions, including that patient participation is about mutual respect and shared trust.
What patient participation is and how it can be facilitated needs to be agreed in order to enable preference-based patient participation. Patients in outpatient psychiatric care conceptualize participation in terms of both sharing of and sharing in, including taking part in joint and solo activities, such as a reciprocal dialogue and managing symptoms by yourself.
While being a patient in psychiatric care has been associated with a lack of voice, an increased understanding of patient participation enables person-centred care, with the benefits of collaboration, co-production and enhanced quality of care.

The video illustrates a modular approach for set up and resection, performed on a 60-year-old male patient, with a cancer in the ascending colon. The procedure is divided into its key steps, which include patient position, port placement and anatomical exposure, medial to lateral dissection with vessel control, sub-ileal dissection, lateral mobilization, hepatic flexure mobilization and extraction with extracorporeal anastomosis. The key regional anatomy is highlighted alongside diagrams illustrating standard anatomy and common anatomical variants. We believe this video provides a valuable resource for trainee surgeons to expand their understanding regarding steps of the procedure and associated anatomy.The vulnerability towards CO poisoning is a major drawback affecting the efficiency and long-term performance of platinum catalysts in fuel cells. In the present work, by a combination of density functional theory calculations and mass spectrometry experiments, we test and explain the promotional effect of Ge on Pt catalysts with higher resistance to deactivation via CO poisoning. A thorough exploration of the configurational space of gas-phase Ptn + and GePtn-1 + (n=5-9) clusters using global minima search techniques and the subsequent electronic structure analysis reveals that germanium doping reduces the binding strength between Pt and CO by hindering the 2π-back-donation. Importantly, the clusters remain catalytically active towards H2 dissociation. The ability of Ge to weaken the Pt-CO interaction was confirmed by mass spectrometry experiments. Ge can be a promising alloying agent to tune the selectivity and improve the durability of Pt particles, thus opening the way to novel catalytic alternatives for fuel cells.
Allodynia, the clinical marker of central sensitization, affects even simple daily living activities and increases the tendency for migraine to be more resistant to treatment and have a chronic course. Migraine that impairs quality of life can often be treated with variable pharmaceutical agents, but with various side effects. Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is a potential alternative treatment for migraine prophylaxis.
Seventy-seven patients diagnosed with migraine (48 with allodynia and 29 without allodynia) were included in the study. Randomly, 41 of the 77 patients received sham stimulation and 36 patients underwent three sessions of anodal left primary motor cortex stimulation for 2mA, 20 min. Migraine attack characteristics (frequency, severity, and duration) and analgesic drug use were followed with headache diaries for one month after the stimulation.
