Diagnostic radiography (DR) students experience situations that affect their emotional wellbeing during clinical placements. This study aimed to investigate factors that contribute to students' reduced wellbeing on clinical placements, and to identify responses to situations that are considered challenging.

An online survey was employed to collect data from five cohorts in the undergraduate (UG) and graduate entry masters (GEM) DR programs (n=461 enrolled students). Questions related to experiences with health professionals, clinical work area or patient presentations that were considered to reduce wellbeing. Data on personal reactions to challenging situations, and strategies that could better prepare students for coping were also collected. Quantitative and qualitative data were analysed using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis respectively.

155 completed surveys were returned (33.6% response rate). Regarding health professionals, 21.4% of participants (33/154) indicated either 'agree' or 'sed in order to support students' wellbeing.

Support strategies and educational interventions are recommended in order to support students' wellbeing.

Previous research on job satisfaction (JS) and burnout has focused on physicians and nurses. However, limited work has evaluated radiographers' JS and burnout, factors affecting them and the correlation between them. The aim of this study is to assess the level and specific factors affecting burnout and JS among radiographers and to examine the correlation between them.

A questionnaire consisting of socio-demographic information and two validated instruments (Maslach Burnout Inventory-Human Services Survey for Medical Personnel (MBI-HSS (MP)) and JS Survey (JSS)) was distributed to radiographers. The MBI included 22 questions and JSS consisted of 36 questions. Mean scores were used to compare responses between participants according to demographic characteristics. Correlation between JS and burnout was examined using Pearson correlation test, with P<0.05 determining statistical significance.

308 radiographers returned a completed questionnaire, 48.4% of participants were male, 48.7% had 1-6 years of should be done in alleviating the main factors affecting them.

To avoid the consequences of burnout and decreased JS on individuals and organizations, efforts should be done in alleviating the main factors affecting them.

The current technique of angulating for a skyline knee projection relies heavily on the radiographer's estimation of the patella tilt, rendering it subjective and prone to errors. This study therefore aims to (i) examine the correlation between angle ABC measured on the lateral X-ray image and skyline angulation (measured in degrees) and (ii) determine the inter-rater reliability of angle ABC measurements.

145 sets of lateral and skyline X-ray images from patients aged 40-70 years old were retrospectively analysed. Angle ABC was measured using prominent landmarks such as the trochlear sulcus, tibial tuberosity and the anterior border of the patella on the lateral knee radiograph. It was then retrospectively compared with the skyline tube angulations to identify any correlation between the two. An inter-rater reliability test was also conducted using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) to determine the reproducibility of the measurement method.

A weak correlation was found between angle ABC and skyline angulation (r=0.1, p=0.25). The proposed method of measurement shows good inter-rater reliability (ICC=0.81, 95% CI 0.77 to 0.84).

There is insufficient evidence to indicate a correlation between angle ABC and skyline angulation. However, angle ABC can be reliably measured, implying the replicability of the measurement method for other purposes.

The proposed measurement method of angle ABC on the lateral view could have future applications in other areas such as in the measurement of patellofemoral alignment and trochlear morphology.

To explore the satisfaction and well-being experienced by anaesthesia residents during their training, and to investigate factors that may have influenced their experiences.

Cross-sectional online anonymous voluntary survey.

A total of 150 (of approximately 600 canvassed) former veterinary anaesthesia residents.

Participants were invited to complete an internet-based survey regarding the satisfaction and well-being experienced during their residency. Multiple choice, categorical, dichotomous, Likert-type rating scales and slider questions were used to investigate five domains (demographic, working conditions, educational environment, training satisfaction, well-being). Sampling adequacy, questionnaire reliability and participant responses were investigated by Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) indices, Cronbach's α and standard statistical techniques, respectively (p < 0.05).

The questionnaire demonstrated good sampling adequacy (median KMO index 0.74; range 0.51-0.89) and high item 'reliability' (α= 0.82-ever, this parallels the general situation in both the medical and veterinary professions, which requires greater attention from the supervisors, trainees and colleges.

Although a quarter of responders were dissatisfied with their residency, several modifiable factors were identified, particularly with respect to supervisors' input, working environment and pay, which could inform improvements for future residency programmes. Most trainees experienced negative health impacts; however, this parallels the general situation in both the medical and veterinary professions, which requires greater attention from the supervisors, trainees and colleges. It is well established that DNA base modifications play a key role in gene regulation during development and in response to environmental stress. This type of epigenetic control of development and environmental responses has been intensively studied over the past few decades. Similar to DNA, various RNA species also undergo modifications that play important roles in, for example, RNA splicing, protein translation, and the avoidance of immune surveillance by host. More than 160 different types of RNA modifications have been identified. JAK inhibitor In addition to base modifications, RNA modification also involves splicing of pre-mRNAs, leading to as many as tens of transcript isoforms from a single pre-RNA, especially in higher organisms. However, the function, prevalence and distribution of RNA modifications are poorly understood. The lack of a suitable method for the reliable identification of RNA modifications constitutes a significant challenge to studying their functions. This review focuses on the technologies that enable de novo identification of RNA base modifications and the alternatively spliced mRNA transcripts. The present study examined the effects of a proprietary Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) root and leaf extract (NooGandha® Specnova LLC, USA) supplement for improving cognitive abilities, cortisol levels, and self-reported mood, stress, food cravings, and anxiety with adults who have perceived stress. Healthy adults (n = 43 women and n = 17 men; mean age = 34.41 years) who reported experiencing perceived stress were randomized to the following groups Ashwagandha (400 mg/d), Ashwagandha (225 mg/d), and placebo for 30 days. The following outcomes were assessed at Day 0, Day 15, and Day 30 saliva cortisol levels, cognitive performance (i.e., CNS vital signs), and the self-reported measures of Trait Anxiety Inventory, Depression Anxiety Stress Scale, Perceived Stress Scale, and Food Cravings Questionnaire-15. For the self-report assessments, significant main effects for time were evidenced for anxiety, depression, perceived stress, and food cravings, p's less then 0.01. The main effect for group and the interactions were non-significant. For the CNS vital signs, significant differences were observed in cognitive flexibility, visual memory, reaction time, psychomotor speed, and executive functioning, p's less then 0.05, with the Ashwagandha groups often out-performing the placebo group. Both Ashwagandha groups had reductions in cortisol levels over time, with significant reductions evidenced for the Ashwagandha 225 mg/d group from Day 0 to Day 15 to Day 30. The placebo group had a non-significant increase in cortisol levels from Day 0 to Day 15-30. No adverse events were reported. In conclusion, Ashwagandha supplementation may improve the physiological, cognitive, and psychological effects of stress.Generalized pustular psoriasis (von Zumbusch) is a rare and acute eruption characterized by multiple sterile pustules over an erythematous and edematous background, eventually associated with psoriasis vulgaris. Classically, it manifests as a potentially severe systemic picture and demands prompt diagnosis and intervention. The duration of each flare-up and intervals between the pustular episodes is extremely variable. Recently, genetic abnormalities have been identified mainly in the familial and early variants of this disease. The therapeutic arsenal is limited; however, new drugs being evaluated aim to control both pustular flare-ups and disease recurrences. This cross-sectional study measured the sensitivity and specificity of muscle ultrasound (MUS) in the assessment of patients with suspected limb-girdle muscular dystrophy (LGMD). Sixty patients with suspected LGMD from the Neuromuscular Unit, Myology Clinic, Ain Shams University Hospital, Cairo, Egypt, and a series of healthy subjects were included. The patients underwent real-time B-mode ultrasonography performed using a General Electric ultrasound machine (GE Logiq P7) and a General Electric 7.5 MHz linear array ultrasound probe (USA). All images were obtained and scored by a single examiner, and muscle echo intensity was visually graded semiquantitatively using Heckmatt's scale. The examiner was blinded to the clinical evaluations and patients' investigations. Statistical analysis using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis revealed that the total upper-limb (UL) Heckmatt's US score at a cutoff point >1 predicted patients with dystrophy, with good (88%) accuracy and with sensitivity and specificity of 100% and 75%, respectively (p 2 predicted patients with dystrophy, with good (89%) accuracy and with sensitivity and specificity of 100% and 75%, respectively (p less then 0.01). Thus, MUS can be considered a valid screening tool in the assessment of patients with suspected LGMD.

To investigate the safety and effect of the Pipeline Embolization Device (PED) Flex device in the treatment of large unruptured posterior circulation aneurysms in a single center.

Patients with large unruptured posterior circulation aneurysms which were treated with the PED Flex device were enrolled. The clinical, endovascular and follow-up data were analyzed, and the O'Kelly-Marotta (OKM) grading system was used to assess the aneurysm occlusion status.

Fourteen patients with 14 large posterior circulation aneurysms who were treated with the PED Flex device were enrolled. The maximal diameter of aneurysm was 17.0±3.9mm. Fourteen PED Flex devices were deployed in 14 patients, with a technical success rate of 100%. All stents covered the aneurysm neck with good wall adherence and patent parent artery. Ten (71.4%) aneurysms were treated with a single PED Flex device each, and four (28.6%) patients experienced additional coiling. No neurological complications occurred in the periprocedural period. The mRS was 0 in eleven (78.
