However, their safe and reliable application in diagnostics needs to be evaluated. Here, we present a novel laboratory approach to identify chromosomes in cancer cells using a convolutional neural network (CNN). The CNN identified the correct chromosome class for 98.8% of chromosomes, which led to a time saving of 42% for the karyotyping workflow. These results demonstrate that the CNN has potential application value in chromosome classification of hematologic neoplasms. This study contributes to the development of an automatic karyotyping platform.

Fibromyalgia (FM) is associated with sexual dysfunction, though much less is known about the sexual desire, and especially dyadic and solitary sexual desire, among women with fibromyalgia.

To investigate on the one hand the global sexual desire, the dyadic sexual and solitary sexual desire, and on the other hand the association with depressive symptoms, fibromyalgia symptoms and medication use among women with fibromyalgia in Flanders, Belgium.

PQ exposure with 100 μM inhibited cumulus cell expansion and significantly reduced the rate of first polar body extrusion during oocyte maturation. PQ-exposed oocytes could not develop to the 2-cell and blastocyst stage. PQ exposure with 100 μM significantly increased abnormal spindle rate (65.2% ± 1.0%) and misaligned chromosome rate (63.2% ± 3.4%) compared to the control group (38.3% ± 1.0% and 38.4% ± 1.0%, respectively; P less then 0.05). F-actin also exhibited reduced distribution in PQ-exposed oocytes (10.3% ± 1.0%) compared to the control group (14.4% ± 1.0%, P less then 0.05). To compare neurally adjusted ventilatory assist (NAVA), proportional assist ventilation (PAV), adaptive support ventilation (ASV) and Smartcare pressure support (Smartcare/PS) with standard pressure support ventilation (PSV) regarding their effectiveness for weaning critically ill adults from invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV).

Electronic databases were searched to identify parallel-group randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing NAVA, PAV, ASV, or Smartcare/PS with PSV, in adult patients under IMV through July 28, 2021. find more Primary outcome was weaning success. Prior studies on laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) have concluded that resident involvement lengthens operative time without impacting outcomes. However, the lack of effect of resident level on operative duration has not been explained. We hypothesized that attending-specific influence on average operative time for LC is more pronounced than resident post-graduate year level.

We retrospectively analyzed all LC cases performed on patients 18 y and older between November 2018 and March 2020 at 2 academic medical center-affiliated hospitals. Regression models were used to compare operative times, conversion to open rates, and complication rates by attending surgeon and resident level.

Nine hundred twenty-five LCs were performed over the study period, 862 (93.1%) with resident participation. Of the 44.5% variation in operative time was explained by differences in attending surgeon, as compared to 11.0% attributable to differences in resident level (P < 0.0001). Research is still sparse in the field of traumatic birth and resilience, and it is not known how women develop resilience after a traumatic birth.

The aim of this study was to understand the process of fostering resilience after a traumatic birth.

Semi-structured interviews were conducted with eight female participants aged 30 to 50 years who experienced a traumatic birth. A constructivist grounded theory was used to analyse interviews.

Two main themes were identified which were developed into an emergent model 1) the feeling of powerlessness during a traumatic birth; and 2) the journey towards resilience. The powerlessness of a traumatic birth was related to a perceived lack of voice and abandonment by healthcare professionals. The model revealed that women's journey towards resilience was aided by both internal and external resources that included healing self-care and ownership of the role of mother; and drawing upon faith, spirituality and supportive relationships.

The findings suggest resilience is a process whereby women draw upon internal and external resources or both at different points in their journey. The implications of the findings include training healthcare professionals in communication to avoid trauma during labour; and prompting women to identify and utilise both internal and external resources to help them to overcome any trauma.
