Aim To analyze the economic impact of nivolumab and chemotherapy in patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who developed disease progression after platinum-containing dual-drug chemotherapy. Materials & methods The partitioned survival model was used to analyze the cost-utility of two NSCLC treatments by nivolumab and docetaxel. The clinical data resulted from the Phase III clinical trial. The cost parameters were derived from our previous studies, and the utility parameters were derived from the literature. Results The quality-adjusted life-years of nivolumab and docetaxel were 0.778 and 0.336. The lifetime direct medical expenses of nivolumab and docetaxel were US$44,707.17 and US$12,826.72. The incremental cost-effectiveness ratio was $72,127.71/quality-adjusted life-year. Conclusion The combination of chemotherapy, nivolumab is not a cost-effective choice in the second-line treatment of NSCLC.

Determine the association between depression and SCD-related outcomes by age and gender.
Using 2018 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System survey data, crude and multivariable logistic regression models were used to determine the associations between depression and SCD-related outcomes by age and gender.
Among respondents 45 to 69, depression was associated with SCD [adjusted OR (aOR) 4.36; 95% CI 3.24-5.86]; needing assistance with activities due to confusion/memory loss (aOR 2.38; 95% CI 1.26 - 4.51); needing help with activities and the help is not available (aOR 4.46; 95% CI 1.31 - 15.2); and having discussed confusion/memory loss with a health care professional (aOR 1.87; 95% CI 1.09 - 3.23). However, among respondents 70 and older, depression was associated with SCD (aOR) 3.52; 95% CI 2.06-6.02); needing help with activities and the help is not available (aOR 0.09; 95% CI 0.01-0.56); confusion/memory loss interfering with work/social activities (aOR 2.44; 95% CI 1.03-5.79); and having discussed confusion/memory loss with a health care professional (aOR) 2.99; 95% CI 1.20-7.40). Depression was positively associated with SCD among men (aOR) 3.68; 95% CI 2.52-5.38) and women (aOR) 4.76; 95% CI 3.29-6.87; and was positively associated with all SCD-related outcomes among men except for confusion/memory loss interfering with work/social activities and given up chores. Depression was positively associated with the latter among women (aOR) 2.10; 95% CI 1.09-4.06).

Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) has a profound impact on the spouse and other family caregivers involved. While caregivers have a need for support, it is difficult for healthcare providers to respond to their specific needs. This qualitative study explores the lived experiences and needs of caregivers of persons with FTD to facilitate the development of support.
Three focus group discussions were organized to explore the lived experiences of Dutch FTD caregivers. The included caregivers (
= 24) were aged 16 years or older and were involved in the care of a relative with FTD. Two researchers independently performed an inductive content analysis using open and axial coding.
The main category emerging from the data was a lack of recognition, acknowledgment, and understanding experienced by caregivers. This was linked to caregivers' experiences with (1) complex emotional and behavioral symptoms in the person with FTD, (2) the trivializing responses of family and friends, (3) a perceived lack of knowledge anD caregivers.
Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a rare hereditary phakomatosis. The clinical features can include benign growths in the central nervous system, tumors of various visceral organs, and retinal or optic disc astrocytic hamartomas in the nerve fiber layer. Here we present the case of a child with known TSC developing Coats-like manifestations.
A 22-month-old girl with known TSC and retinal hamartoma followed since birth presented for the development of exotropia and leukocoria in the left eye. Fundus examination of the left eye showed blurred optic disc, macular star, and yellow retinal exudation in the temporal area. In addition, the left eye showed marked retinal vascular tortuosity and telangiectasias. The patient underwent brain and orbit magnetic resonance imaging, revealing heterotopic gray matter nodulations along ependyma of both lateral ventricles, with partial calcification, and a posterior flattening of the left eye.
This report shows a rare case of Coats-like disease in a child with tuberous sclerosis. In case of presence of Coats' manifestations associated with atypical retinal or systemic findings, genetic diseases should be considered in the differential diagnosis.

Normal aging involves progressive prefrontal declines and impairments in executive control. This study aimed to examine the efficacy of an executive-control training focusing on working memory and inhibition, in healthy older adults, and to explore the role of individual differences in baseline capacities and motivation in explaining training gains.
Forty-four healthy older adults were randomly assigned to an experimental (training executive control) or active control group (training processing speed). Participants completed six online training sessions distributed across two weeks. Transfer effects to working memory (Operation Span test), response inhibition (Stop-Signal test), processing speed (Pattern Comparison) and reasoning (Raven's Advanced Progressive Matrices and Cattell Culture Fair test) were evaluated. Furthermore, we explored individual differences in baseline capacities and assessed motivation during and after the intervention.
The experimental group, but not the active control, showed significant transfer to response inhibition. Moreover, a general compensation effect was found older adults with lower baseline capacities achieved higher levels of training improvement. Motivation was not related to training performance.
Our results encourage the use of executive control training to improve cognitive functions, reveal the importance of individual differences in training-related gains, and provide further support for cognitive plasticity during healthy aging.

The Helping Invested Families Improve Veterans' Experiences Study (HI-FIVES) evaluated a skills training program to support family caregivers of cognitively or functionally impaired persons. HI-FIVES demonstrated sustained improvements in caregivers' and patients' experiences of VA care. The aim of this distinct, secondary qualitative study was to explore the potential processes related to the individual tailored skills-based telephone training underpinning HI-FIVES intervention effects. We explored topics caregivers selected, characteristics of action items created, patterns of action or inaction, and barriers to action item completion across topics.
Qualitative data was analysed from 118 dyads randomized into the HI-FIVES intervention which included three weekly facilitated training calls covering five education topics and action items developed by caregivers for each topic. Qualitative analysis of text responses to questions from the training calls was used.

Channels were seeded with smooth muscle and endothelial cells. Constructs were topically seeded with keratinocytes. Results After 28 days in culture, multiphoton microscopy revealed a hierarchical interconnected network of macro- and micro-vessels; larger vessels (>100 μm) were lined with a monolayer endothelial neointima and a subendothelial smooth muscle neomedia. Neoangiogenic sprouts formed in the collagen protodermis and pericytes self-assembled around both fabricated vessels and neoangiogenic sprouts. Conclusion We fabricated a prevascularized scaffold containing a hierarchical 3D network of interconnected macro- and microchannels within a collagen protodermis subjacent to an overlying protoepidermis with the potential for recipient microvascular anastomosis.Smoking cessation is underestimated in terms of drug interactions. Abrupt smoking cessation is common in cases of emergency hospitalization and restrictions of movement. Tobacco is a known cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) inducer, its consumption and withdrawal can lead to major pharmacokinetic drug interactions. Nevertheless, references do exist, but may have different results between them. The objective of our work was to establish the broadest and most consensual list as possible of CYP1A2 substrates treatments and propose a pharmacological approach. We searched the widest possible list of CYP1A2 substrates based on various international references. We compared the references and defined probability and reliability scores of our results to sort the substances based on the scores. For the 245 substances identified as CYP1A2 substrates, we focused on the 63 CYP1A2 substrates with both probability and reliability scores >50%. Our work establishes adaptive pharmacological approaches for the management of patients initiating smoking cessation which must be integrated into the management of smoking cessation.
